awesome synth. i have been playing since getting "Odin the Odyssey" in 1976-he is currently being restored. also have a pro-1 since mid-80s' and a ms2000 since 2000. a bunch of other synths were added to "das machinen" last year. there are so many discoveries with multiple hardware synths-i have no desire to "go soft". . .
wonderful tribute to your Mom.
my Mom died 03 aug 2010.
they never really "go" away-she is still with you. :-)
Are these purely elaborate midi controllers that you connect to a computer or is the computer and software built it as well and comes as a complete package ? Just curious. They are awesome anyway. I was creating music with just software but now use hardware synths and sequencers because I like the hands on approach. This has the best of both worlds.
What puts me off really exploring VST's is the constant mousing. Sure you can get various plastic generic controllers but no matter which ones I have used i always feel detached from the instrument.
I believe there is a big market for specialist controllers. Of course the cost to make one offs/small runs would be prohibitive. But if you chose the most popular synth to start with then you may sell enough to make it a viable business and keep costs down.
I wouldnt know for sure but I would suggest that NI's Massive would be in the top 3. Thats not a synth I personally enjoy much and due to its large amount of parameters its maybe not a possibility. Other good selling VST's are Refx Vanguard, Sylenth, and Predator. Any of those mentioned are pretty popular in terms of users/sales. For me I would seriously consider a Sylenth controller. Im sure you could make a business out of this though. Ever considered trying to get finance?
I think, each special hardware controller depends on the VST Instrument that you want to control.
Its no problem to build a controller that looks like the Bahn Sage Synth ;o). But which VST Instrument you wanna use for this controller ? And then, would these instrument be a popular synth, just because there is a dedicated hardware controller ?
This is the the coolest Midi Controller I ever saw. You should start your midi controller business. There is no product out there that comes even close to these babies. If I were a Novation executive I would either hire you or put a contract on your head. Great great stuff, this really made my day.
@SynthProject big rock stars would- i would sell boutique synths like this to people like rick wakeman or kasabian or depeche mode- they would buy and have tne money- your too talented not to make these creations legends!
He told me he uses Cantible under XP on a a Mac Mini running Bootcamp. Cantible lets him convert >128 MIDI controller messages to VST automation events, that's how he's able to have that many controls on one instrument. (Next update of Poly-Ana is going to include this feature, so you can do it in any host software.)
Really cool :D What make/model screen did you use for the touchscreen? Also, what machine are you running it with i.e. a PC / Mac tucked inside the controller itself?
Funnily enough, not only was this softsynth made in Canada, but your device, which uses it, was mentioned on Synthtopia on Jul 1, which happens to be Canada Day.
@zludoc Isn't it bloody obvious it's right there shown to you a million times throughout the video. Oh and wait for it, it's in the description underneath the video. How lazy and stupid can you get!

Are any of these controllers for sale??
Im about to buy a Touch impOscar controller, and saw yours has a keyboard.
Poly Ana is a great synth, but i hate its interface. This would be a dream piece of kit for me.

@dcupmusic
I´m sorry all controllers are one-offs and i wanna keep them.
Maybe one day there is a keyboard version of the impOSCar controller from TDC.
Hmm ... i like the GUI of the Poly-Ana. Its something special i think.
That was one of the reason, why i built a controller for it. And yes, the Poly-Ana is a great synth.

The most popular synth would be the one with an awesome hardware controller. The balls is now in your court.

It takes 2 men to carry this monster controller on the stage. ;o).
I think, something smaller would be better to sell.
