  • i was surprised that he kept a straight face while playing the song

  • yea!!!

  • Thanks ... Pete

  • Well true, you'll know you'll learn good stuff =D Sorry for my mistake

  • Sounds like my next tune to learn. Nice playing. Well done!

  • It's a fun song to play. Send me a video when you get it done and thanks for the great comment ~ Peter

  • damn i am inspired!!

  • Thanks for the great comment! ~ Peter

  • Awesome!! Would love to purchase your arrangements when you are able to make them available...waiting patiently:)

    Thanks,bruce

  • Thanks! ~ Pete

  • great job man. where can i get the tab for the song? thanks

  • I'm still trying to figure out publishing permissions. As soon as I do, it'll be great. For now, I can't send them out.

  • It is nice song.Where I can find tabs?

  • I'm still working out the legalities on this issue. It's a confusing maze on publishing permissions.

  • Great stuff.

  • Thanks!

  • whos the original artist of this song?

  • Santos and Johnny

  • You always get this impish little smile on your face at the end like you are so pleased with yourself.. It makes me really laugh, because you should be. Of all the players on youtube that I watch--and there are a lot--your style is the most beautifully melodic and tight. If I could get to half your skill level, I would be very pleased myself... I'll check out your site right now...

  • The smile is making it to the end without screwing up. It took a few takes before I could at least be pleased with what I did - Ouch! Anyway, thanks for the nice compliment! ~ Peter

  • Yeah hit me up.. how much for a session.. love the style.. you can hear it all..

  • Thanks.... check out the website link on my video. Youtube wont let me post it on the comments. ~ Peter

  • do you have tab!! men please!

  • Thanks for appreciating the video. Unfortunately, I don't sell these songs. The video is to promote my guitar lessons.

  • Amazing =]

  • Not too shabby

  • Thanks!

  • Absolutely beautiful! I used to only play classic rock, but I'm much more interested in learning to play this type of finger-style music. The hard part is breaking old, bad habits!

  • Thank you - These comments keep me going. ~ Peter

  • cool rendition

  • Thanks for the nice comment ~ Peter

  • you left out the Fminor in the A-part, or IV minor...the coolest part of the whole song

  • The F minor part comes @ 55 seconds. ~ Peter

  • Hi Pete, very nice arrangement & great playing!. I see from other comments you said you're recording onto your iMac-with built-in cam? Are you going into iMovie directly or using Quicktime to record then editing in iMovie? The reason I ask is I just started trying to make videos of my own playing & was using Quicktime to record. I just figured out how to import that to iMovie & edit. Not happy yet, you can see/hear on my channel. I'd appreciate your advice-I like what you're doing! Thanks!

  • Hi Zeek - Thanks for the nice comments. I'm actually using a digital camcorder and importing the video into iMovie. The camcorder has better resolution and it's easier to position it so I can be comfortable playing.

  • This is the most beautiful rendition of this song I ever heard. So much so that you inspired me to acquire a classical guitar and learn the song just like you play it. Thank you!

  • Thank You... It's great to get this feedback... It means a lot ~ Pete

  • uau that is beautifull

  • Thanks! ~ Peter

  • i like your style and i learned it on my own but lack transitions lol

  • It's a great song... I'm glad you're enjoying it. No worries on transitions... that smooths out after you've played your arrangement a bundle of times.... Keep picking away! ~ Peter

  • Nice rendition of the song! And that guitar is incredible!

  • Thank You... The guitar is a LaPatrie

  • ola tudo bem uma perguta para quem esta começando qual violão voce indicaria

    obrigado

  • cara voce toca muito parabens

  • excellent... very nice..

  • Thank You... It's always appreciated to know someone out there likes what I'm doing... Peter

  • who is the original author for this song?

  • I think it is Santo and Johnny

  • Are there any tabs for this song perhaps?

  • I did happen to write this one out, but that is not what this video is for. It's to promote my private lessons and a method I use. I can show guitar players to play like me. Therefore, I better play for someone who wants to know what I play like :) The "trick" is to be able to arrange songs that fit you = level and style. Most of my songs I play are directly from a lead sheet and I arrange as I play. I'm glad you like this rendition of Sleepwalk. Thanks.... Peter

  • @vinni681 Look up Sleepwalking by Modest Mouse. Same as the original "Sleepwalk" musically, but it's not like this rendition.

  • Very cool

  • Thanks!

  • how was that a lesson?

  • It is not a lesson. It is a demonstration of the music I teach for private lessons - As in the information page next to the video and the banner that is posted in the video. I'm sorry that you were confused. There have been several people who have written me that they just learned the song off the video - by watching. That's ok with me... good job to them! I teach a method on how to create your own.

  • wow¡

genial espero puedas publicar una partitura o tab de la cancion

    felicidadez...

  • Absolutely lovely! I would love to pick up a guitar and play like that just once. I would die happy.

  • Wow! -- Thanks! - The whole idea of the video was to promote my private teaching and show what I teach. If you're interested... let me know. $30 a month = lots of hard work (but fun). My method isn't rocket science, but it takes a while to master. Thanks again for the awesome compliment! ~ Peter

  • you should call this the "Sleepwalk Shuffle"!!!

    very cool

  • Thanks...

  • sos un zarpado loco de lo mejorrr!!!!

  • one day i would like to be able to play this song at my wedding. YOUR version. (: very nice.

  • Thank you for the nice comment. It's all there in the video. If I can do it = you can do it. It's just a matter of time ~ Peter

  • cool and smooth!

  • Thank You - Pete

  • Thank You ~ We all need to know we are on the right track.. much appreciated!

  • That was the idea :)

  • Thanks, partner. Glad you never studies with lessons from Amos Garret! Eeks!

  • Plz tell me your recording method so i can get that great sound quality. Is it a special kind of microphone?

  • My guitar "LaPatrie" is plug directly into my Sony camcorder. I also us an iMac (iMovie) to produce the video. It's quite basic - plug directly in.

  • I love this forlorn song and your version is a sensational Joe Pass like adoptation... Way Cool...

  • Joe is one of my favorites.... thanks for the incredible compliment (even though I know Joe would blow me away).

  • Beautiful guitar tone. What kind of guitar is it? (and of course "nice" version of a classic)

  • Great, this song has always had a weird psychological effect on me, your version is awesome.... Teach me

  • I also think this song has a great unusually "swaying" effect on me. Thank you for the good comment.

  • Nice arrangement for solo nylon strings. I have seen Amos Garrett's version (telecaster) live, and like them both.

  • Thanks!

  • My uncle was a talented professional guitarist in the 1950s. You have the same classic and mellow sound.

  • Thank You.

  • it has always been my wish to play this song on the guitar, unfortunately im off to the marines and won't be able to learn it any time soon.Well played it was very very great.

  • Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Also, thanks for protecting our country! The great thing about music is that you can always come back to it, and it is just as rewarding as it was then. Come back safe and pick up that old guitar...

  • i m guitarist too and it's my prefer version with setzer one..; and a lot of person want to play it fine but don't arrive

    very good thank's

  • Yes - Setzer's version is closer to the original. I'm glad you like this version also - Thanks.
