Interesting that Sam Harris was quick to point out that Breivik was not a Christian in his opinion. If it was a Muslim in Norway, Harris would have gone crazy.

@callmeal84 Well, because to describe Breivik as Christian is to promote a ruse.

It would be of the same "truth" to claim he was a "blonde killer", which is also formally true but had infact nothing to do with his actions.

What we know is that Breivik had subscribed to an insane mix of temple knight + freemason + radical nationalist ideology. What he professed and how he presented himself made no sense. It is very likely, that he is a deluded madman.

Hold on, sure he might be christian, but i certainly hope they dont imply that he was doing it for his religion (im an atheist, settle down) Im from Sweden and the local paper said that he was against multiculturalism and massacred a youth-convention of some political party (dont remember the name) because they were in such great support for it.

Your first question cannot be answered as asked, as he is not dumb and ignorant. But I will say that if you only get your news and analysis of the news from O'Reilly, then you will not be well informed.

Second question; he is not allowed on TV, he is on there because Fox wants him on there and this is a free country.

@10shinhan I understand that you may not like him and that you think he is mistaken in his beliefs, but he is not stupid. He is of course, as we all are, ignorant in some ways, but that does not make him stupid.

I will agree with you that his argument was not put forward in an intelligent way. I saw the holes in it as he presented it. He must not have given it much thought. I would have characterized it as an isolated incident, whereas the Muslim attacks are planned by Muslim organizations.
