ford explorer v8 0-100 MPH

i dont like, i think close ratio transmission because it kinda sounds more v6ish unlike the expedition it changes gear then rpm drops from 5000 to 3000-3500 which sounds like a tough v8, im not dissing, i do like explorers

me and my friend did this in his mom's expedition and we saw a cop and had to slam down on the brakes :) it was fun.

sadly the ford explorer has very many faults because it upshifts hard and has many transmission problems

i drove my friends 04 explorer and it seemed to lack pickup when u let off the gas and then give it gas again....true for all or false?

well it depends what gear i'm in and the speed. if i am going 40 and in 3rd gear i will notice a difference when i give it gas. but lets say i'm doing 90 and then give it gas, i won't notice a difference in "pickup." the slower your going when you give it gas the more pickup you'll feel.

yeah makes sense but i was going like i was going like 10-20 in a neighborhood i would let off to slow down and then i felt like i had to depress the pedal a little more than it should for it to like engage u know? i was just wondering if they were all like that

I was dissapointed when my 2003 only went about 105. i know that thing will do at least 140 or so, but i dont want to be the one driving it

tachometer, that thing on the left side of the speedometer

The tachometer is that gauge to the left of the speedometer that measures how fast the engine is spinning. I said it looked like it was broken because the needle stays between 4 and 5 while the engine keeps revving.

no its just the 4:10 gears that ford put in the explorer. theres no prob with his camera, or his explorer, all of them are like that. idk if they still use them or not now.

4:10 is the gearing ratio of the transmission. they are close ratio gears therefore the peak area of power when WOT is within a certain rpm range
