I like the reactionary statements to this vid.

It's rather humorous. He starts filming. The speaker at the event speaks up that he doesn't want to be filmed. The filmmaker respects that, gets up and begins to depart. The young people cant seem to control themselves and follow after the camera person for no other reason than to have themselves filmed harassing the exiting patron.

If campus security showed up they would have to follow campus rules. Film on...

Just like if someone is giving a speech in a public park, they have no say as to who can or can't film them. They are in public, so they are subject to being recorded. The "journalist" creates a false anaolgy when he implies that the speaking event is the same thing as filming Kobe Bryant at a basketball game. First, Kobe Bryant has probably all ready signed a waver stating that he agrees that HIS image can be broadcasted and filmed. In this instance, "the journalist" was wrong. He asked for permission and was denied because he did not state clearly why and for whom he was filming. Judging by this "journalist's" vidoes, the Imam was correct in refusing him.

If someone is appearing in public, at a public place, giving a public presentation, after inviting the public, then there is reasonable expectation that they could filmed. For example (and as I was about to explain in the video before they continued to interrupt me), if there's a news crew giving a report on the street, or getting some stock footage of people walking around in a city, they do not need permission from those people.

@cmm1411 This is a public event, but it was NOT taking place in a public space, BIG different there. Public space open for the public: park, side walk, street, etc. Non-public space but open for the public: universities, schools, restaurants, etc. Just like you CANNOT film people at a restaurant, you can't do it at a university. Get your facts right before you start barking. These students are protected by FERPA when they're inside a PSU building. Ignorant stupid fucks like you make me laugh.
