@xisumavoid I havn't been able o replicate that yet. so far when i only have the one layer of the mob spawner the Endermen survive. What difficulty are you on?
@xisumavoid Yea, for some reason I was thinking it also affected the mobs health. In any case I've now built this spawner in two of my solo worlds and on my private server and it works like a charm in all three (though the lag is something awful on my server, but that's to be expected when hosting and playing on the same machine)

@comicsce10 With the endermen im just pointing out the the theory and practice behind this means it shouldn't work, but it does, some people think they take suffocation damage which is why they don't survive the drop :)

@xisumavoid hmm.. i can see that happening, but then you would need a layer by layer getting smaller and smaller system if you dont want mobs spawning in the middle of the system dying from falldamage if you use a cone shape for the piston push setup... and of course they will all be damaged from falling so you cant deliver them with an exact health percentage to use for exp grinders.... endermen make these things so difficult, there need to be blocks that negate fall damage!
The trick with trapdoors is that they do the same as signs, by tricking mobs to walk over an edge. The advantage is that trapdoors aren't entities in the game, thus they create no lag. No pistons needed. Mobs move a little upon spawning, which virtually always results in an instant kill by falling. Highest rates I have ever had due to quick death/respawns. Screenshot provided.

the item drop area is over-complicated. You can put water dreams on top of fences and have the mobs still die, making the whole contraption kind of pointless to my knowledge

@xisumavoid i just watched through this and thought it would create a lot of lag on some computors and i thought maybe you you put water above the fence posts to push the drops this would work cuz the fencepost is 1.5 blocks high so when the mob hits it it dies and the drops get pushed along now even though this means the drops might fall through the fence posts you can have another water stream under them to push any drops that fall through the fence post :) was just a quick idea i had so yeah

@coplaniuk Mobs swim in lava ;) Yes the timer can be used for both :) and about implementing it well... we all know mojang don't like mob spawners :( They will probably keep trying to break them...
You could have the mobs fall thru a lava layer, then you don't need as high a drop and the endermen get killed more consistently. I generally only need 4 blocks drop below my bottom pad to place the lava for them to fall thru without trying to swim up. The pad keeps out the light.

There really is no need for the moving fences at the bottom. Water flowing over fences will still make mobs drop to their deaths and transport items at the same time. Why the noisy and overly complex piston design? :p
@xisumavoid Hmm, my own fall trap has a minimum of 24 blocks of falling for normal mobs, which kills them instantly. Only the upper floors have room for endermen, which die due to the higher falling distance. Trapdoor fall trick, by the way. No pistons required. :)
That way you have room for more normal floors, yielding a larger loot amount, with only a small loss in the amount of pearls. (which you don't require large amounts of anyway, or you simply create a trap floating in The End)
@AurallWow So whats the trapdoor trick? haven't heard of that one. Also you can build this with different size rooms if you wanted to optimize space for the 2 high mobs :)
