Not likely. The Apostle Peter, as holy as he is, does not fit the bill of the Catholic doctrine of the Pope. I am not a religious scholar. However, let's say that the catholic church is the original christian church. It doesn't mean you have to be catholic to go to heaven. One only need accept jesus christ as her saviour to go to heaven. It is interesting to me how christians argue amongst each other. Many christians feel a need to be "right". I am so fortunate to have been born-again. I hope religious nuts can focus on peace and stop screwing things up for the rest of us.

Hardly true, BUT even if it IS true, the Israelite kings did pretty much the same, but God never abandoned His people. Catholics take one single verse and build heresy upon it to what we have today. And the verse is not even 100% accurate to what this guy is saying. But when a biblical scholar comes around with at least 50 verses which says Jesus is the only truth and we are all the priests of it, they disregard it.
It's disheartening to see what we have today 'in the name of Jesus'. This is why the protestants were killed, for their testimony of truth.

But what is funny Catholics deny UNcatholic people communion. Where does it say you have to be a catholic to receive communion. I have been to 10 masses all start and go through the same dance. Time for communion I'm just blessed by the preist because i dont accept the man made dogma. in the bible did Jesus ever deny anyone communion. NO. He even let Judas and Peter have communion with him knowing they will deny him both. Thank God hes not like the catholic church.

You think the priest says a couple sentences he turns the wine into actual blood and the bread into Jesus actual body. Its not the Catholic church we biblical Christians have a problem with, its the heresy against the bible.
1st Kings 8:46, Ecc 7:20, Romans 3:10 &3:23 (written after Mary) state there is no one without sin (Mary included).
Not to mention her giving a SIN offering in Luke 2:24 (see Lev 12:6-8), and her having many children (see Mat 1:24).
Jesus did not come to start a religion. he came to DIE FOR YOUR SINS.
Through faith in Him.. Not his mother. 1 Timothy 2:5

@kedmonton exactly. religion is From man but salvation is from God. Mary was a sinless person in their eyes but it mentions ALL who have sinned. They claim that mary was without sin so why didnt mary die for your sins if she was sinless...why the reason need for God to come in form of a man. But debating this issue with them is pointless. they want to refer to "they got the keys form Jesus so therefore its okay to teach "mostly" man made religion.

@kedmonton O.k. you admit Jesus gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom. But not a thrown. But, just like Mr. B said, if you know what that means then we know what the popes role is. In the OT (Is 22:15-22), we can see that "keys to the kingdom" meant becoming a prime minister of sorts. So in that th pope is a prime minister of the King, Jesus Christ. So, whatever, deny the pope has authority and that being given the keys to the kingdom means nothing, but you're denying the book of Is. and God.

Just cause Jesus gave keys to Peter doesnt necessarily mean that all his successors were meant to have the keys. It just says "i give you" Not your successors or anyone else. You-. I am not a religious scholar. However, let's say that the catholic church is the original christian church. It doesn't mean you have to be catholic to go to heaven. One only need accept jesus christ as her saviour to go to heaven. It is interesting to me how christians argue amongst each other. Many christians feel a need to be "right". I am so fortunate to have been born-again. I hope religious nuts can focus on peace and stop screwing things up for the rest of us.

Hardly true, BUT even if it IS true, the Israelite kings did pretty much the same, but God never abandoned His people. Satan will try to destroy everything good, but Christ promised he would never actually prevail despite causing a lot of trouble. Christ is still with us, we are still His true Church - the Church He died to establish, the Church he carefully planned right down to who would be its first leaders, the Church he powered by the gift of His Holy Spirit.

Why would Christ establish the true church next to rome. Wouldn't it be in Israel somewhere? And the only reason the Catholic church established, is because the romans couldn't kill all the christians. So they just joined christianity, and mixed there pagan beliefs, with Christian beliefs and cause them to think they are following Christ, But are Breaking ALL 10 commandments at the same time. There's not one commandment they follow. Not one. They're sun worshippers.

Petros is the masculine form of rock in Greek while Petra is feminine. The author had to label Peter in the masculine since he's male.
The Aramaic behind had no distinction; there's only one word for "rock".
While the Petros/Petra argument sounds nice it makes no sense when you understand the basic rules of Greek grammar.

My Bible says 7 hills, so maybe you should get another Bible if yours says 6 hills. My Bible also says that the kingdom had already had five kings who had already fallen at the time of the revelation (Rev. 17:10. That means Babylon could not be Catholic Rome, because Rome was still pagan when John received the vision (in other words, the only past kings of Rome had been pagan kings). Go ahead and look it up!
