In this International Year of Biodiversity, can the respective Ministers for the Environment of the world, champion their portfolios, band together and nut out some kind of 'Habitat for Land' deal? Similar to the Carbon Credits Scheme, eg an immediate feeze on Orangutan habitat for suitable land-lease or land-credits accross Australias top end...or any other country where palm oil can be sustainably grown? Will you be the courageous politician who goes down in history who saved the Orangutans?
There will be no orangutan friendly palm oil. Fact is we will never know how they produce it down there. Just another fake - boycott palm oil wherever possible.
i hate to see this !! my heart is in Sumatra cause my parents are sumatrans...
this is all for bloody selfish us the people
btw it's not only in mascara or bread or some Unilever products but it's in EVERYTHING !!! like soap, shampoo, lipsticks, vaseline, washing gel and million of products !!!
stop this rudeness towards the nature the money which earned by buying and selling the products with palm oil is blood money
orangutans are such a great species so close to us humans, yet humans are not going extinct. This devostation that will soon, infact is now IRREVERSABLE! And it is all down to human consuption and 'a cheaper option'. but if you look closer. it is priceless, to think of the orangutans lives wasted in the deforestation.
So sad they will be gone soon. However, virtually everyone that watching this video has way above world average carbon footprint. Palm oil is renewable energy. Global warming, orangutan, or our greediness?
Palm oil is currently not a renewable energy. Look at the footprint! With current farming practices unsustainable palm oil is releasing more than 10x the amount of carbon as burning fossil fuels... the biofuel holy grail is being used to disguise a global disaster, not just the decimation of range species.
I'm suprised videos like this don't have more views.

Like all vegetable oil we man-kind use in everyday, they all consumed nature's land, and what make palm oil so different from the rest?

Do you know that those so-called anti-palm oil crusaders are using the same dirty tactics from soy oil members in 70's and 80's?
This is pure hypocrisy. Vegetable oil do consume nature's land no matter what they are, so what made palm oil so different from others?

Try in some way to raise money and donate. Go to Google and type in Orangutan and you will find several good organizations to donate to. Thanks.
