Ya can't imagine some story like this happening near where you live, until it does. At the time, I lived in Columbia (SC's capital), about an hour west of Scape Ore Swamp. HUGE numbers of people invaded little Bishopville, countless press articles - it was truly like something out of a movie. Somebody must have had a great laugh hoaxing Lizardman, but they are INCREDIBLY lucky they didn't get shot, as there were so many drunk Bubbas over there with dogs and rifles. What a hoot! Is it possible? I guess, but I doubt it. I mean some lizardman sighting might just be people in costume. For example my uncle and his brothers made a bigfoot costume, that they would go around in and scare people in.
