for fast render you need good cpu not too much ram or video
danny3man 2 years ago
yeah the CPU is probably the most important in terms of render speed.

is this a plugin if not where can i find it under

Its called Vray...its very common..probably the most commonly used render engine for max next to Mentalray
Cant remember exactly, did this a long time ago, I think I rendered it at about 1024x800, and it would have taken about 40 minutes for the complete animation (around 200 frames).
PC Specs:
CPU: Q6600 2.4ghz Quad Core
RAM: 4gb DDR2
GFX: Geforce 8800GT
OS: Windows XP 32bit

Haha have the same configuration:) Very funy!

RAM is dirt cheap! Trust me, its worth investing in that extra 4gb, render times have been more than halved for me
If i good well, max cant use all of the memory. it will increase your speed if you buy better videocard+coller. But its more expensive...(
really? are you sure? I thought it could use all of the memory? Even if im running Max 64bit?
perfect reflections & good light-ing

please help me? just describe how using an hdri with V-ray works? do you assign to an object like any material?
i dont mean to say i have asked you a million times sorry but i guess i was wrong to just assume you wouldnt. thanks for replying
