Books = imagination = colorful. Kindle opens up your imagination. Makes it easier to take the stories you love with you. That was probably the idea behind the cutesy style of the commercial. It DOES remind me of a pop-up book, so I think they did a good job there.

My favorite commercial of ALL time... Never have I actually wanted to watch commercials... but this is the exception. Cute, quirky, catchy, fun, and ingenious!
The scene where she's falling down from the sky is awesome. Imagine how much work and time it took to put in so many positions and how much of the cotton they had to move around and rearrange.
I LOVED this Kindle ad ! It has a great innovative style and one very catchy tune. This is one commercial I didn't surf past even though Amazon gave it a TON of airtime.
I wish Owl City would do a video for "The Yacht Club" like this...

@fugernut it is broadcast format, so technically it is 29.9fps. but images per second is around 6-8.
