If America would have lost the war then all of the Generals plus the President and the Administrative Branch would have been brought up on charges of Humanitarian War Crimes. 1 example was the massive blanket bombing of European Cities & Japanese Cities killing everyone, men, women & children with no discretion.

I just read a story about modern eugenics trials with mitochondrial DNA. It reminded me of the Nuremberg trials and forced sterilizations depicted in the Spencer Tracy film. The human animal loses all restraint once they open that door to eugenics. Cronkie knew that in his bones.
