Hmm, depends on how you look at it. ITG's Fantastic window is smaller than DDR's Perfect. If you're in a course, then DDR's Marvelous timing is tighter than ITG's Fantastic. Generally, it's more difficult to Quad Star a song than to AAA a song.
Actually the bar was made to make sure players dont fall backwards off and to keep others behind from getting too close. It wasnt meant to hold onto for dear life through a whole game session. I've met expert ITG players that dont use the bar at all. The bar is just for people that can pass songs by themselves and need more practice I suppose.
There is when you're playing doubles. It's bad enough we get made fun of in the arcade, but using the bar through an entire song just makes you look like a loser. Especially playing doubles. I mean, doubles was practically made for you to freestyle on.

I dont have a problem with bar through really hard sections of a song, but this guy really needs learn that holding the bar, especially during doubles is both, 1. Really really stupid looking. And 2. Obviously not working since he misses so many notes.

half of the time players who dont use the bars look like fucking fools, arms are flapping around and shit jeez. Maybe the fellow plays itg, and is used to the bar after all itg is harder. And most of the patterns in DDR dont make much sense anyways.

Then again you don't even know the circumstances of why he's holding the bar (song BPM is really high) and he had been working ALL day at E3.
ITG has changed the way people play also, pretty much anyone who plays ITG Doubles uses the bar.
If using the bar was cheating, it wouldn't be there.
