  • Hmm sounds like the mafia. Pay protektion money to stay safe. Thought we allready payed the police for that job... Well, we just keep the cheapest one then. Bye Bye officer ;-)

  • I am Sparta!!

  • just give them all guns and everything will be fine.

  • even the police dont have power even now, they keep creating acts which are not laws, a police officer is actually a peace constable, there only officers because of the company they work for...officers - office... all securities and police are private companies

  • FFS just tell them to fuckoff, simple as that Police are the only ones with the power of arrest simple as that

  • We provide the same service. People feel very reassured when our officers and patrol vehicles are around. The police will often take 2-3 hours to arrive, so who will fill the gap, unless you want the yobbos to get away with vandalism, burglaries, etc. In the UK security firms are licenced by the SIA . They can also take away the licence for serious breeches of conduct, etc. here in Canada we are licenced and accountable to the Solicitor General, including mandatory training.

  • @bgibb101 SIA membership is unfortunately not mandatory. If a private security company wants to employ a non-SIA yob with previous convictions for violence, then they can.

SIA membership hasn't stopped companies like ShowSec abusing their position and creating trouble for members of the public.

  • sparta security ..does that mean they shag yuong boys on a regular basis as well ,the spartans were not a security force they where warriors who protected their state not do security on their own citizens and they where rampant pedophilic homosexuals,

  • Both parenting and shithop is to blame for the ferrel youth of today. That is why these Nazi's are on the streets.

  • How about cancelling the Olympics, pull funding for the royal wedding (100+ million), cease invading other countries without moral justification, reduce the number of laws (the amount of new crimes aimed at extracting revenue from the public increases every day). Do all that and you'll have a better world with more money to fund the bobby on the beat. Simple hey.

  • @GMPresents No GMPresents, it's not simple, sadly. I agree with your entirely.

  • let them own guns and they wont have to pay taxes plus, extra for dweebs to walk the street pretending to be security.

  • = pay two old chubby blokes in reflector jackets to do the job your police should be doing.

  • What happened to old fashioned communities who helped their neigbours and others on the same street and perents taking responsibility for teenagers, I was not that innoccent when I was young but respect and manners were very important if I did anything I would get a smack from my neigbour and another even worse hiding when I got home .Time to stop looking around for others to solve social problems and stand up for yourself and communities.

  • Are they not militia?

  • "It's real simple, legalize and legislate firearms."

There is no LAW against carrying a firearm in former british colonies. There are statutes but they can only be enforced with your consent. About time people started learning common law.

  • Firearms are legal.

You just can not conceal them or carry them loaded when in public.

    You also need a license

  • Trustisaliability, do you know the difference between legal and lawful?

In the former british empire under common law you can claim the right to carry any firearm you like and it is lawful.

If you then ask for a 'license' to conduct a 'lawful' act you are waiving your right and replacing it with a privilege that can then be removed by the state. You do not need a gun license any more than you need a drivers license which is not at all. It is just that the guvment has dumbed people down.

  • It's real simple, legalize and legislate firearms.

Fuck, stories like this make me so angry, the "civilized world" is being buried in a bureaucracy.

So you have to pay taxes to fund the police, and then pay MORE just so some glorified security guards can patrol your streets?

It's REAL simple, if pointing the barrel of a gun down at some teenagers who are threatening you at your door doesn't do the trick, you've got bigger problems than you think.

    Furthermore, it's CHEAPER.

  • Where are the concerns? If your not happy with your bank, insurance, what ever in life you change provider! same here. This will ultimatly bring neighbours&communities back together instead of not knowing who lives next door. imagine this then gives criminals and HOME grown terrorist fewer places to hide. We are already a nation under sevalence! 1/78 is tracked & pursued daily. Too late to get off now! If this country was running as it should there would be no room for this in the 1st place.

  • Until 1watches the decay of an affluent inner city neighbourhood within months rather than years/decades. 1will never understand this is a necessity, all for the price of a pack of Fags!

"Unless we get this right, we will end up with private security coming in and they will work for the rich and the poor will go without"

If thats the case what are the 1041 new police on the beat doin? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, when you want to pull the wool over then think before you speak!

  • will they ignore a crime in a home that isn't their client?

So much room for abuse - scary way to go.

  • Yes lots of room for abuse for sure... sort of like the Mafia pay up or.... no protection

could even lead to a firm paying thugs to go in and torment people...

lots of room for abuse as you've mentioned...

Also look up Darren Pollard, he's from other yonder and has raised concerns about this before..

  • Good question; Albeit the idea is there wont be a crime next door does the criminal know what house signed up &,didn't!?

Moreover if, 2/3 homes signed up wouldn't you think there was a reason and the whole estate felt the same?
