nice simple design. i have seen a few 'radio tower masts' used where they were the the cheap solution, in mild steel, but you have clearly made a very good one. a wooden spar is likely to be more aerodynamic, and might be lighter, too. did you consider wood?
Diego- thank you-- i am a sailor/survivalist first and- a designer of boats second...i seek only to be as close to water as possible and because of this i build as simple and cheap as possible- absolute simplicity- because- simplicity = closeness to water! and also i am poor..-i hope we can share ideas someday...your idea is inspiring
I am the designer, my name is Diego Freiría. A mast made by stainless steel like a radio tower, was choosen because in my country Uruguay there is no aluminium tubes for this kind of masts, and import a mast for this kind of boat is expensive. So I designed and calculated, and it performs very well, obviously is strong but it works and its industrial appearance is good.
ive never seen a mast like that---who is the designer?//...its a great idea...using three poles insted of one...like a radio tower...should be very sturdy and strong...
Ola what section the akas ? Are they aluminum ? ( que seccion las traversas ? En Aluminio ?)
What volume the amas ?

Actually, I think the mas design is rather interesting and unique. It adds a "high tech" look to the boat.
