I this amp too loud for home practice use? I'd like to be able to get the cranked, overdriven tones without annoying the neighbors ( I live in a townhouse). I'm weighing in my mind getting the Ht-1 or Ht-5; I assume the Ht1 would fit my volume limits better but the Ht5 has some an FX loop that I would want. Or conversational levels can you get rich tones out of it?
how did you get such a good tone? i can't get anywhere near as much gain as that out of my ht-5, you boosting it with a tubescreamer or something? what pups are you using?
Why are people saying this is not a real tube amp? I kinda want one just to mess around with at home..thank for the video i also have voxac4tv its great just i want of of these for high gain settings.
@eatthemoon13 Its has alot of solid state boost circutry built into it. It's a 'true' tube amp, but it's not a 'pure' tube amp since the amount of gain it puts out reqires alot more than 1 preamp and 1 poweramp tube respectively.
great video!!!! gotta love van halen... haha this amp is freakin loud for 5 watts! i played at a wedding reception (outdoors) with my band and it did fine
Excellent vid - is something always being asked and a worthy Youtube offering. Now - can we have a bit more with the band in and also details of the other amps and where mike was located??
The Mic is just the one attatched to the camera. IIRC, it was sitting on a pool table. Haha. If you want, subscribe to my page, and I'll post up a band vid of our show on the 13th for ya.
Very good playing :) I have been considering this Amp Head With a 2x12 or a Peavey 6505+ combo 112, and what is the Peavey amp in front of the camera?
Amazing tone. Juicy and delicious. If they made this thing in like 40 watts i'd get one right away! But I'll just save up and wait for the Series One 100watt head :{D
What's wrong with 5 watts? Plenty loud enough, and with a 100watt valve head you'll never get PT distortion unless you play big gigs/crank it at said gigs.
Yeah, should work. there should be a P.A there anyway, so even if your other guitarist is trying to max out their power tubes, you should be able to catch up still.
the 100 head is switchable from between 10 watts up to the full 100, so it would suit most gig/practice situations if you were to buy one. and unlike alot of other amps with this feature you dont lose any tone at lower settings as the reduction feature doesnt sit between the valves and loudspeaker. instead it reduces the output valves voltages proportionally maintaining the dynamic feel and compression of power stage 'sag' ay any output level
nice ampp and cabb im thinking of buying an ht-5 head because they sound amazing. If I were to buy it though, id buy the like 1x10 cab to go along with it because i have a crate flexwave 4x12 cab that sux the tone out of just about every :D so I'd only use that giant waste of space live :D
I had it going through my pedals. But only had the VS Route 66 OD kicked on. Then popped on the Phase 90 for Ain't Talkin' Bout love. It's loud enough for practice if you're drummer isn't a banger.

I have already had one back surgery, and they want to try again. I think I'd rather have one of these chairs instead. Thanks for sharing

CAN you use this with ONLY headphones? Or does the tubes get damage or something without a cab connected..

fantastico! Seriously, one of the best blackstar clips I've heard on here. Would have been better with an SM57 off axis but oh well.

awesome playing. do you think this head would be able to be heard loud over drums with a 2x12 cab?
Diisafatslag 2 years ago 3
I dont think so.. to get this amp really loud you need to make it push a shitload of air, which means at least 4x12.
And the more airtight the cab is, the louder it will get.

By the way, I'm just planning to use this amp through a Marshall MG4x12 cabinet, is it possible?
karlurban23 3 years ago
yes, it will be POSSIBLE, but that doesn't mean it will sound good. MG cabinets are made out of particle board..
xXForgetxitXx 3 years ago
Thanks!!! Yeah, it would be possible.
GuitarMan216 2 years ago
It's loud enough to gig with.
I played through a Marshall 1960a 4x12, in front of 400 people. It was mic'd.
Milo9 3 years ago
if i ran this through my 2x12 cab could i keep up with my band? Most stuff we play is distorted so yeah.
jsw807 3 years ago
It's hard to say.
GuitarMan216 3 years ago
do you think it's loud enough? (for a small gig)

If you mic it. Otherwise I'd say no.
GuitarMan216 3 years ago

Yeah, but just the head. The speakers are only "ok"
GuitarMan216 3 years ago
