Thinking is so hard! It's too HARD! I don't want to have to think things through before I commit myself to a statement.
I know! I'll just -- make sh¡t up as I go along! That's it!
Okay, check THIS out: "Animals are better than humans! Never mind that there's really no way to compare between two products of nature, the totality of human fauna and the totality non-human fauna. No! I just up and decided that animals are better than humans. Hey! Not-thinking is not only easy, it's kinda fun!!"
animals are better than humans? At what? Not doing bad things? I guess humans do more bad things than animals. But they also do more good things as well. In the end humans just do more things. How can you condemn a race because members of it do bad things. It's the same as saying the lion race is worse than animals because they kill animals. We are better at finding value in life, how else could somebody say an animal is better than a human?
Animals are smart on certain ways so are people. Animals know how to survive in life but not humans (viruses, salmenela etc). Animals like lions and snakes know how defend without help of any people or object. Humans need knives and guns to defend mostly. Of course snakes can kill u in minutes.
Also, humans are distinguished from other species, in addition to extreme intelligence and tool use, as well as advanced communication, through our amazing endurance and muscle density. The reason humans beat out other animals is just as much physical as it is mental -- We can hold open an alligator's jaws, toss a lion, and run for a longer period of time than a Cheetah can. We are designed to dominate.
Humans are animals too. We just can't live in extreme cold weather conditions like Penguins or Polar Bears. And we cannot survive freakishly hot temperatures like Snakes and other reptiles can. And we most deffenitly cannot survive underwater like fish.
@ThatBoyTLong Actually, humans can do all of those things with the right preparation. Our tool use and higher brain functions are what set us apart from the rest.
@Cajaquarius We can't do EVERYTHING. There are those who think the world is Made JUST for humans. Fuck that belief. Don't tell me you are one of those freaks who thinks that humans aren't animals yet they have the right to do whatever the hell they want on the earth and that animals are a minority.
@ThatBoyTLong We may not be able to do everything yet but we will inevitably. We have already mastered every natural environment on earth save for the deepest trenches where water pressure is too great. The rest is a matter of time. I do think that humans are an animal and hence this whole video and the comments supporting it are ignorant. Unlike the rest of the animal kingdom our reason and tool use sets us above them in terms of survivability, which is any organisms primary job. We are best.
@ThatBoyTLong That is not to say I think humans should be able to do whatever they want. I am a conservationist and oppose needless dumping and pollution. But at the end of the day my reasons for being a conservationist are tied to my loyalty to my own species and it's continued survival, not some aberrant, self destructive drive that values the lives of lesser evolved creatures over myself. The more the environment is damaged the harder it is for us to survive in.
@Cajaquarius You know, it's been scientifically proven that many animals are smarter than humans. Such as the Raven or even the Crow. They have the capability to use, and make, tools, yet they don't go around destroying their habitats. Just because we can talk, and can wave guns around, doesn't mean we're the better species.
@xXBlackTeddyBearXx Horseshit. Ravens and Crows ARE intelligent -- They can understand basic grammar, and can make tools. But they're not smarter than us.
As for us being a better species -- you're right, talking doesn't make us a better species. Not being a species wide Jeffrey Dahmer does.
Yeah agreed - animals are better! What about that horse that painted the ceiling of the Cistine chapel, the dog that discovered the typhoid anti-virus, the Alpaca that went to Africa to help hungry refugees, the camel that designed the dialysis machine, the baboon that fixed your broken arm, the pelican that wrote "Hamlet" and the mouse that tried to be our school teacher.
i guess animals can live cleanly and efficiently. and so could we if we really wanted to. but noone really wants to. i believe that what makes the human race superior is to have the ability to think on our own and make our own choices, rather than conforming to a natural cycle, and the ability to see differences in each other that eventually leads to conflict. but, also the ability to want things and like things. honestly, i would rather have a house, car, and internet as opposed to barbarism.
What kids are saying this crap? Life wouldn't "be a better place", it would be desperation. We have these things because we have ADVANCED FROM NATURE. Just by merely doing this, we have proven our superiority. But what we do have is responsibility, for nature. I agree with the teachings in this video (learn from animals), I CERTAINLY do not agree with its overall message.
Stop being so glum and miserable, everyone. Humanity is an incredible thing.
@haider15648 Kid, war is inevitable. But don't you think it's better for us to think that war is horrible, rather than conform to the animal mentality of "YES, ATTACK, KILL, NOW!".
The fact you're showing remorse for these horrific acts shows you at least have empathy. Do animals have empathy for each other? Not really.
Suffering is sadly a condition of life, you must learn to accept it and make sure it doesn't stop you.
I side with Mankind. I think war, strife, and exploitation are all perfectly natural and healthy for our species to better itself and gain mastery over nature and, eventually, the universe. Every great scientific advancement we have comes to us as a result of war and strife. What appears to be senseless has given us medicine, technology, and power. Maybe even power enough to stop on errant meteor that may someday threaten this world. We are the saviors and masters - the best of mother nature..
@haider15648 You claim we are terrible an destroy mother nature but provide no proof to back up your claims. Humanity is the only complex organism to adapt to almost every environment, no matter how harsh, and has even exited the atmosphere and reached beyond the worlds border. We conquer disease, death, and operate well within our evolutionary boundaries and nothing we do is unnatural. We are what nature designed us to be: it's most perfect organism to date. Your point stands refuted.
well, yes animals are better than humans, but, there are some people on this earth too, and there are some people who need help too. so i want to help both people and animals. thumb downs me all you want.
the only real distinguishing ability people have is using natural resources as implements. That's it. Not communication or thought, animals do that and we just don't understand most of it. Virtually every defining human behavior has to do with exploiting something, and the animals don't even pay attention. They aren't envious or anything, because in the long run we don't have any survival value.
Im sure animals communicate, but not on the same level as people. Survival based things about food and mating, definitely, but not on the same level. Im also sure they think, but again, not on the same level as people. But chimpanzees come pretty damn close. But not quite. Still really smart though. As far as humans being defined by using things, yeah that goes in hand with sentience. And im pretty sure we are going to be around long after most species of animals. Being able to use things helps.
ShrapnelSong Anything, literally, is possible. For all we know, animals are doing something most would consider science fiction. They could be telepathic, for Chryus' sake, and of course we wouldn't know, science cannot do everything, heck, it barely does anything to begin with.
Well yes, anything is possible, but animals are almost certainly not telepathic, just good with body language. The sentiment that a more natural lifestyle is better has worth, nature definitely is something to be enjoyed and experienced intimately, but science will always be in high regard. Hell imagine the value ancient peoples placed in something a technologically simple as bread.
And out of interest who is "Chryus"? You should probably send me a private message for that topic though.
Well, science seems to forget that all these aparently seperating little devices we have, actually, virtually every man made instance of everything is from nature...
@cavalier11000000 yeah, get an education....humans have four times the cerebral cortex of the second smartest animal - chimps. That means we have four times the capacity for thought, emotion, etc. Animals are cruel - they often kill the young of their competition in order to their genes to be spread. Humans at least have have evolved a way of trying to help one another. Animals don't care about eachother only themselves. The only reason they don't kill us is because they are incapable of it.
We have to live the way we are living. We're a complete mistake in evolution...
We can't survive without our technology, we need it. I agree to lessening technology, as it's insane the way it is now, but we can't live like animals... We'd be extinct in 3 weeks
All our senses have weakened too much in the thousands of years that we've lived with technology (it of course depends on from whereon you call it technology :p). We can't smell if fruit is good or rotten anymore, andso on. We'd be dead if we'd go back to scratch
@ jupiter189 It's called (named by me) the Turle effect, wherein just as a turtle can 'survive' will on its back, technology being either ridden of or lessened would enable us to survive, but not be entertained. So much is spent on entertaining...but it is just as entertaining to be out in the sweat and nature and running wild with the beasts then watching them on a television...so sad...
@DuskRenegade You would last all of three hours tops before some animal killed and devoured you. lol. our brains are what give us the advantage over everything else on this planet.
@metalmike83 Yes, this is true, however animals only kill in defense, humans kill for sport...for fun. I know many animals wouldn't waste a blink before deciding to engage me, and that's why we have weapons for self defense. I'm sure though, that if you leave an animal alone, it will do the same. Besides, animals and people both need to continue evolution, to the point where we have no need for violence.
were not destroying the earth, were destroying the earths biosphere.
and besides, its a nessisary step.
evolution needs a big dissaster to kill mostly everything so that it can create new life. its called catastrophism, and without it we wouldnt be here today, its a fact!
and im not saying i want to die im just saying that by reducing C02 emissions and recycling etc, we are only prolonging the inevitable.
The Earth, will never technically be destroyed. And if it does, it sure as heck will not be our faults. As far as humanity goes, the thing that must be destroyed is so called "civilization".
Exactly. Our "civilization" has been nothing but a horrendous burden to the Earth and every species. We hunt animals without mercy and cause them unnecessary pain, we pollute the atmosphere and many either ignore the problem or just don't care. We, as a species cause ourselves an enourmous amount of pain with crimes against ourselves, wars and in personal life, we're just as cruel to our peers as a sadistic warden to a prisoner would be. We, as a species, need to be done with...
Human life has much potential, potential which is falesly emphasized daily under untrue pretensions. We destroy ourselves and cannot acknowledge our faults in this great delay known as life. I paritally agree. We do destroy ourselves and ignore our faults, but killing for our own gain is wrong if killing for our own gain is basically disrupting the peace of the Animal Kingdom, why should we do what we're doing? There has to be an alternative, and/or more humane way to go about this.
Oh, my mistake. I deeply apologize. I misread your comment. Yeah. I wonder the same. There must be alternatives. Lower popluation a little, eat less meat and more fruits, vegetables. Something. I know there must be another way that's better than just killing animals for no reason.
@vgman94 wow - put the pot down man...animals kill and eat eachother all the time and can be way more cruel than humans - just look at lions their behaviour is what we would be consider appauling. humans do cause pollution but not on purpose and only to advance our lives and help rid the world of disease for both the benefits of humanity and animals
