For anyone who is wondering, Batman is alive but trapped in the distant past. More specificly, the Stone Age.

We last see him with Anthro the first boy, now an old man, who is scrawling New God's symbols on a cave wall before he dies. We then see Batman pick up where Anthro left off.

What does this mean? Well, first off, Batman is alive, and that's good. Second, those New God's symbols have some signifigance for the future of the 5th World (Earth), so it's not over yet.

Final Crisis was one of the worst comics I've ever read, and I like Grant Morrison plenty.

1) When heroes reverted back to heroes from being villains, we never saw the magical moment where it happens. Instead, we have to read between the lines and imagine for ourselves.

2)  It was everywhere trying to be everything, and instead just ended up far too convoluted for its own good.

3) And did it seriously just kill off Batman for the heck of it, just to bring him back? Weak.

The reason Batman is "Alive" is because Darkseid's Omega Sanction (Beams) do not "Kill" in the conventional sense.

The original concept of the Omega Beams was that it destroys a persons physical being while sending the mind and soul into a loop, so to speak, where the person relives their lives over and over again, with each life and death worst than the last.

Neil Gaimans' "Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader" picks up on that plot thread.

Are people really stupid enough to listen to a dog? If they are, sorry that Grant Morrison's writing is too intelligent for them for them to keep.

Intelligent comics hurt the ignorant mind so bad. Thank God Jeph Loeb writes comics for those types.
