  • price per fish 1.50

    price for tattoo 20.00

price per fish to sell to the jersey shore and every dumb girl priceless:] haha

  • this is awful... they most certainly arent healthy, and because of these "tattoos" they will die within months, instead of the years they are supposed to live.

Plus, the real natural colors of the fish are way prettier than these fake neon tattoos.

  • lol the survival chance on them is like %30

  • The fish probably dont even notice it. And they're obviously healthy.

Next you people are gonna start telling people to release their goldfish into the ocean(yes I know they are fresh water fish, that was a joke).

Plus, you have to remember that goldfish are prettymuch bred to look pretty. Its the only reason we keep them as pets. And they have terrible memory, so they forget VERY quickly. They'd probably think that they were born like that if they had the mental capacity to do so.

  • @GooberDarkLight They're not goldfish, dipshit. They are mollies. Mollies are exponentially smarter than goldfish.

  • You would think a wee kid took them out of the tank one by one and drew on them XD

But that is nasty having needles stuck into them for the sake of fake patterns!

  • for fucks sake

  • O__O horrible !!!! :(

  • i got a tattoo of my fish...now my fish can get tattoo of me!!!!! hell yeah!!!

  • fuck fish this is awesome

  • fukn retard

  • you are an asshole how would you like to have color injected into you flesh for amusement of others?

  • I'm pretty sure that most of the "tattooed" fish that are around now are done by laser instead of injection, though don't quote me.. an awful practice, I don't understand why people feel the need to change a beautiful animal.

  • why decorate a fish when there is already natural fish that are beautiful, take a bass for instant when they are healthy they are very pretty fish

  • It is animal cruelty.

They're injected with needles which leave punctures in the skin.

The dye can stunt their growth, and the puncture can become infected and kill the fish.

I don't even know why people do this, it looks horrible anyway. Poor fishiess -.-

  • honestly if i could find out where to get these i would buy some

  • @jayethestar Why !?!?! they are cruelly mistreated and the practice of tattooing fish is horrible!

  • I think they look cool, but isn't that animal cruelty??

  • hell yeah thats bad ass im going to try that

  • RIP those poor fish

  • tattoo is fine. what is the difference in stickin him with some ink or filleting him with a knife to eat? he gets to llive this way. its like tattooing a dogs ear for i.d. is that wrong? or ear tagging a cow? big deal its just a lil molly fish. now if it was a blue whale with a neon pink stripe theres a bitch

  • there injected with color but they do loose the color after awhile

  • So so sad when will the madness ever stop nothings out of bounds to most humans....

  • This is ignorant. So is any form of tattooing animals.(unless for identification for farm animals and only in the ear) SHAME ON YOU!

  • That is why i chose to buy guppies lol they come in a variety of NATURALLY pretty colors and are awesome to watch swim and their breeding is entertaining too lol There are alot of already pretty fish there is no need to put fish in any discomfort that is unnecessary they already have to deal with being sold and transported in bags n what not lol

  • @shadow01031987 What about neon tetras? Or bettas? Those are pretty awesome too! :D

  • @LiliFromHali i LOVE Bettas but they can only be one to a tank it makes me sad lol im not big on neon tetras and i have had glow fish but they died on me right after i bought them...... :( But i love my guppies lol

  • @shadow01031987 There are some fish that bettas can be kept with, as long as they don't have long fins and aren't nippy. I have a betta right now and on friday I'll be moving him to a 10g and I'm going to add some neon tetras in with him. As long as the school on neons is big enough (like 8+), and you add the betta AFTER you add the other fish, it should be okay in the same tank. I wasn't that big on neons too, but they've grown on me. :) I'd love to have guppies, but my betta would kill them.

  • @LiliFromHali yeah my friendhad an octicinclus a sucker fish lol with her betta he didnt kill it but a betta would kill my guppy babies

  • you can thank south east asian fish breeders for these and most aquarium trade atrocities

  • @clairecatherine7 thats so sad :( i hhave a tatooed fisha nd hes beatiful. but i feel bad for the fishys :/

  • Im sorry, but if you are going to injure animal to make it more appealing, at least make it a pretty alteration, these fish are UGLY, I wouldn't buy them for any reason, they aren't attractive. And the wow factor is lost on me...sorry I think there are a major waste of money and the process is major painful...

  • People have no respect for animals... breaks my heart :(

  • what a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok wtf

  • I have two of these fish and they must be mating or something because one of them goes for the other ones private parts and I bought a conditioner for the coating of their scales to keep them healthy:)

  • i have a tattooed fish, and he is amazing(: it is not cruel, it doesnt hurt them. duh, theyre still alive. these fish are called tattooed mollys, and can be found several places (petsmart is where i got mine) :D i love my fish and couldnt ask for better(:

  • @cami89432 Really? So no one in the world right now has never been in any pain because they're alive? Idiot.

  • @cami89432 Yes, it does hurt the fish. And did you know 80% of the fish die in the process? Yeah, I think that's a little cruel.

  • peta freaks

  • WHERE WOULD YOU GET THESE OR COLORED FISH ARE THEY FOR SALE AYWHERE?

  • Im pretty sure there just dyed - Tattooing a fish would be insanely hard, the fish would also deffinately die - for the fish to be removed from water long enough to be tattooed would kill it, the depth at which the needle would have to be placed would be near-impossible to hit without causing serious damage or shock which would kill it, if the procedure did work - the bacteria in the aquarium would deffinately develop an infection; also - how would they remain so bright?

  • @Apostolix continued; water causes the scabbing which is created to become moist; the scab then falls off - if the scab comes off prematurely then the ink also comes out too.

  • fucking CRUEL and stupid! for me only natural will do.

  • This is FUCKED UP!

  • TWAT

  • ...Yeah there's definitely something wrong with these fish, My parents bought 2 for their god daughter a few weeks ago, one with Polka dots and one with a heart....The one with the heart has had to be Replaced twice so far because it ends up getting to be too weak to and getting stuck to the Filter..

  • this is fuckin sick.. cruel ass hell!!! whoever help buy these fish r fukin stupid too

  • isnt that illegal in california or some state?

  • @kemywemywoo

I'm not sure if it's illegal in California, because I live here and a local fish store sells tattooed parrot fish.

  • @kemywemywoo I believe this was done in Japan. Because I have been doing research on it! Highly controversial! I believe it should be illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking cruel ................ wankers

  • I just got one of these fish for my birthday from one of my friends, I had no idea they existed til i looked them up on the internet, the fish looks healthy but is there anything else i can do to make sure the fish is comfortable? Someone said something about aquarium salt?

  • @steph020588 Salt should be used in ALL aquariums to give the fish proper electrolytes! But honestly it is not your fault that it is or soon to be in discomfort. I would just let the fish live as long as possible and just not get them anymore as it is VERY cruel and sadly 80% of these fish die in the process! :(

  • sick, sad, disgusting, fowl, horrible, mean.....ect. look at the language on the tank

  • Tattooing fish is cruel. It ruins their natural slime coat making them more prone to disease. If your thinking of keeping these fish you'll need aquarium salt on hand to restore some of their slime coat.

  • that might explain why one of them keeps dieing ....though DO have the Aquarium salt , I don't know if my parents have been putting any in after cleaning the tank out.

  • I do admit that the tattoos look pretty cool and all, but I would never buy one. Its to cruel!

  • I would want a cool word tattood on my fish.

  • sure this is cruel, and stupid!!! but please worry about the starving children on the street before you worry about a stupid fish!!! PRIORITIES PEOPLE!!!

  • ooommggggg fuuuckkk this is terribblleee ommggggg

for every animal you dont eat...

im going to eat three. so your plan isn't working.

  • nice one, then were with 2, i join the idea :)

  • @timweiser You'll probably die of obesity way before your time and then you wont eat any more animals, so you should rethink your plan, because that wont work either. It's all about a balanced diet dude, eat meat if you want, but don't eat a whole cow everyday just to spite people. Or on second thought, do. Maybe it's Darwinism at work.

  • ok this is kinda different then piercing a fish. this is kinda sick i mean what is the point

  • that is too sick & sad ... :(((

  • Let's be real. These may be interesting, but it's a painstaking process to tattoo, will get boring to look at, temporary, it is negative to the fishes' health, and apparently it apalls people aka your friends might think you're ridiculous. To those who think they're cool, it's all about the awesome tank really and how long you can keep the fish alive without forgetting they ARE alive. Not bashing fish but-you can't really play with them. Tattooes make NO difference. You just got yourself fish.

  • Okay, what I said was kinda mean...What I really meant was...Adopt fish if you really will take care of them and you love fish. Not because of looks

  • Although, looks are a huge factor in adopting animals...But also consider the care, the behavior, dedicating about half your freaking life to balancing PH levels!...Oh, there I go again. Just kidding. teheheeheh. But adopting less healthy fish, ugh, you're asking for it.

  • POOR FISH!!!

  • You know, you can worry about more than one thing at a time. Just because people think that its cruel what these fishies have to go through, doesnt mean they worry less about children in the gaza strip.

  • they feel pain, they dont deserve this

  • @burningman73 You obviously hate animals...

This is stupid. I hate when people do this to animals like that..

  • Many Asians believe that tattooed fish will bring them good luck. Everyone may be up in a fuss over fish being tattoed, but they are ignoring the context and cultural significance of it. That doesn't mean it makes tattooing fish right, but it doesn't make these people evil bastards either. Besides dressing you dogs in little clothes and carrying them around in your handbag all day as a fashion accessory is just as cruel. But nobody says anything about that

  • You know, I was in my local pet store here in Hawaii and saw some of those fish. They had hearts tatooed like those. No one liked what they did to them. Poor fish:[

  • how did they do this?

  • I didn't know. But some of commentators have already explained how.

  • @kris2flip They use hypodermic needles and inject the dye THOUSANDS of times!:( DO NOT PROMOTE THIS!!!!!!!!

  • Companies do this cus people buy these dumb things. write a letter to the company. do something besides sit on your arse.

  • How sweet!!! Ive got 2 fish in a bowl i won fromt he carnival! Do you think theyd like a tatoo aswell?

  • Go to fucking hell, man.

  • that is terrible.

  • Omg.. Seriously.. I hope these guys fall down the fucking stairs.. Along with the people that buy them.. I <3 you on a fish? FUCKING RETARDS!

  • @Davehzorz omg ever gone fishing before? probably not, its fun gutting a fish, a little twerp fish like this is just bait. who the hell cares. I think they are cool as hell!

  • @mykeo0omyke excellent display of machismo. Well done Sir

  • poor fish. these are living creatures, not decorations

  • @etria702 I love your mom

  • Comment removed

  • @etria702 I agree with you. Just to think about the pain they had to go thru just for someones amusement saddens me =(. This is fish abuse!!!

  • OMGaaaad

  • thats just so cruel. we need to stop this!

  • True fishkeeper who love the hobby and care about the fish will boycott this and do everything in there power to stop this. The fish still feel pain, and billandjulia is right, that is one way of dying fish!

And I am vegan, and believe all animals deserve a chance at a full happy life.

Plus, the dye goes away after a few months, so what was the point of dying all those fish, having 20% survive only to have there lifespan shortened and the color goes away!

  • stop what your doing or i will tell practical fishkeeping you fuckers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we get the choice to tattoo ourselves. Fish should not be tattooed its sickening. Its not even like it looks good and the poor fish.

  • I eat fish. Yumm.

  • Yes it may be cruel if we think of it this way, but i mean... we eat fish, doesnt that make us cruel? We eat pork, beef.. i mean they are animals too, unless you're a vegetarian. Also they're the tiny fish that gets fed to the bigger fish in the pet stores anyway. They laser the tattoo onto the scale and doesnt go any deeper that'll actually puncture the skin or make the fish bleed.

  • It devalues living creatures and treats them as if they were some inanimate object that can be decorated purely for whim or commercial gain. For too long, fish have been widely perceived as cold, unfeeling creatures that do not perceive pain, but we know this is far from true. This despicable practice only serves to perpetuate the myth.

  • The skin of a fish is living tissue throughout. Any colouring method that damages the skin's protective surface will render fish prone to potentially life-threatening infections. The artificial colouring by laser presumably involves restraining the fish out of water for some time and this is likely to cause further unnecessary stress. And how do we know it isn't painful? This practice should be condemned as being cruel and totally unnecessary.

  • blub blub!

  • i just bought 2 tattooed fish. i dont even want to hear about your cruelty to animals shit. its a fish, not a dog. most fish die a few hours after you buy them anyways, whats it matta if they got some color on em.

  • Wow, ignorance is bliss I guess.

  • the reason your fish die so quickly because you didn't cycle the tank or change water you dumb shit. a well kept common goldfish can outlive a dog, and an elephantnose fish is about as smart as one. these tattooed fish are a product of greed and cruelty.

    as said by Mr. T:

"I pity the fool who has not cycled thier fish tank."

  • I find it funny when people think these acts are cruelity to the fish. There's alot more important things in this world that are worse than a fish with a heart on it. People need to get a life and acutally educate themselves before they jump on the bandwagon.

  • Maybe you should think about educating yourself before judging others who, god forbid, care about things even as small as a fish. There have to be people out there like me who fight for something they believe in because there are too many people like you who would rather ignore these problems and go on to live your self centered little life.

  • Strange thing is though, why would you concern yourself with FISH when fellow human beings are dying of starvation, war, etc... Great cause you got going there...

  • well if someone put's a video up promoting any of those im sure we would give it the same reaction. None of that changes the fact that this is cruel and wrong.

  • That's so sad.

  • where can i buy it ? :)

  • They had some at my local Petco

  • ugh,how mean!poor fishehs D:

  • people educate yourselves. I could understand being concerned if the fish turned into mutants, and were being horribly abused and went through extreme pain and died a very short life. but DYEING FISH, and TATTOOING FISH. are TOTALLY different things. seriously people. the fish doesn't even know what happened. it's totally healthy, and cute.

  • Thats why I would rather look into it first rather than knocking it, it could end up being the 'compromise' for dyeing fish. It is stated on the webs that the low-intensity lasers are directed at the scales and not down into the skin itself. So they tattoo the scales not the fish (if its true). I do however believe fish do feel pain, but saying things like 'the fish are being held against their will' is very tree humperish. At least they don't dip them in acid like they do the dyed ones.

  • The "low intensity lasers" STILL burn the fish, the injuries often taking months to heal, that is IF the fish even survives. Maybe you SHOULD look into it.

  • yes I did, and I didn't like it. I just wish people wish leave fishes alone. But me sitting here whinning about it isn't gonna solve a thing.

  • research the effects please dumbass C:

  • omg. people are so dumb. cruelty to animals, is when you leave a dog chained up outside with no food or water. tattooing a fish. is not cruelty. FISH CAN'T FEEL PAIN. so tattooing the fish "against its will" not to mention it only has a 3 second memory span. YES. that fish CARES. / knows whats going on. and i have one. it didn't die in a week thank you. If the case was that the chemicals in the dye killed the fish, think of how many humans get tattoos and are totally fine everyday. seriously

  • you're terrible naive. To tattoo a fish their skin slime is removed, this is what keeps them from getting infections and diseases. Once their skin slime is removed they are tattooed and become even more stressed. In case you didn't know, stressed out fish are most likely to get diseases. So stress + no skin slime = VERY BAD FOR THE FISH. You're lucky yours didn't die, but the majority do sadly. Also, it's been disproven that fish can't feel pain and that they only have a 3 second memory span.

  • what the hell?

    "fish can't feel pain"?

  • Stupid humans

  • i just bought one with a rose on it

  • I just bought one with a rose on it!

  • I just bought 2 with roses on them!

  • bad human

  • Information and public awareness is the best weapon against this type of practice.

Visit DEATHBYDYEING dot ORG to understand why this is plain and simple animal cruelty (I'm not related to that website in any way).

Don't buy this type of fish, and if you find them for sale in your local fish shop, let the owner know you're not buying anything from his shop as long as he/she carries them in stock.

  • these fish will be dead within a week

  • This does look painful. But I would rather look into it before knocking it (sort of speak). None of us knows what really goes on to get these fishes looking this way. If anything I'd say dying is probably the worst, parrot cichlids get the shaft :(

  • I believe its done with a low-intensity laser not needles like are used to inject glass fish. No way too be sure though as no one is talking...

  • Thats probably the worst thing you can do to a fish next to boil it.. Thats just wrong

  • Thats fucking badass...Who cares...think about the billions of feeder mice, rats, crickets, worms, and fish that are fed to peoples pets everywhere...who cares, at least theyre not bred for death.

  • Who cares?? I think thats obvious when you look at some of these posts! I´m glad there are people who do care.

Rather a short and good live as a mouse than a (probably even shorter) live as a suffering fish...

These fish get sick verry easily because of these chemicals in their boddies.

  • it's not the same. They're bred so that they can appeal to people like you so that they'll buy them, because apparently a natural fish isn't good enough for most people. Everyone just thinks OH HOW CUTE A HEART ON A FISH and no one cares how much stress and trauma the fish has been through

it disgusts me that people can't appreciate how an animal looks naturally

  • I saw theese. I think they look awsome but it's verry cruel.

  • Thats disgusting how can people just push themaround cuz theyre fish it is gross nad disgusting

  • Never never buy such a shit it's incredible what people can invent to make "new kind of fishes"

  • I love animals. More than people. But I have to say there are much worse things than this going on... like dolphin massacres and dog and cat torture and slaughtering in asia. These fish look fine, and I wouldnt waste my energy fuming over this when there are much worse animal issues.

  • thats messed up!

  • What a load of crap! 80% of fish dye in the tattooing process and the ones thatsurvive are very susceptible to disease and lose there colour in a matter on months anyway.

  • mishandeling...

  • this is disgusting. good point about the size of the needle in comparison to the fish, skullkiddy

  • Anyone Who buys those pish are stupid assholes !

The fish dying trade is a horrible one !

Its cruel and nasty and soo many fish die because of it !

How would u like a needle about the size of a hose shoved into your side ?

  • I WANT A MILLION.

    o_o

  • Sick, sick, sick. I can't imagine how many fish are killed in the process of tattooing some of them.

  • I'm sure a heck of a lot less than fish that get caught in old nets, six pack rings, etc. Hippy.

  • I love them, where can I buy them ?

  • I shot this clip from the Fish Fair at The Mall Ngamwongwan (Thailand) and forgot to ask the name of the shop.

  • up your ass around the corner two shops to the left, faggot ass.

  • If the process works on larger fish, I would love to get a koi fish with a picture of a human tattooed on its arm.

  • At first i saw it on the larger one but i thought it's the naturally fish coz they were tattooed a color on a scale. But on a small one it was so easy to discliminate that was tattooed coz of the tattoo's shape.
