  • Truth is an illusion, a concept we use to judge propositions. Absolute truth is what????

  • The truth is not what you believe...

Rather it is that which is real...

  • we are idiotized in front of a box everyday-how true!!

  • if you recorded this with a phone I applaud you, I know how hard it is trying to keep still for 6 minutes.

  • Yes, do encourage your children to read and read well. That's what got me on the road out of Christianity.

  • @onlylettersand0to9 that's what keeps me on the road deeper into Christianity!

  • @bryanpound That's probably because you are only reading the bible or some apologetics crap haha.Try reading something not directly affiliated with the bible or Christianity and you will find that you will begin to leave your dogmas behind.

  • @FrankieSayRelaxxx1 What did you have in mind? Dawkins? The guy who started an Atheist movement falsely in the name of science to justify his theory in biology of the "selfish gene" the same way Freud used his studies in philosophy as an attempt to justify the fact that he was a pervert. Dawkins has no education in Math or Physics yet self proclaims himself to be a scientist, no background in Philosophy and is referred to as unsophisticated at universities in both the US and the UK.

  • @lion575 No, who said anything about Dawkins? Or any counter apologetic? I'm am merely asking you to look at more secular sources that weren't written to further the cause of any religion and so will be less biased in that way.

  • Zacharias is a charismatic and talented speaker, and is probably quite intelligent too. But just because somone has charisma, does not make them right. Christianity is an illogical belief system that, like most other religions, retains its popularity only with enforcing dogma and its ability to persuade people to suspend their powers of logical and critical thinking, when thinking about their religion.

  • Hate the video. Love the audio..

  • @williamstdog9 -The complete lecture can be view here:

For a good video and audio quality. The Q&A sections are at the end of that video.

    Regards.

  • Problems with old generations, they keep lying to young generations and expect them to listen when the truth is painfully obvious.

  • I think it may also prove helpful to some of the viewers here to try to evaluate many of the more strident claims of the anti-theist critique ("brights") from a ideological/ metaphysics perspective. Check out the recent article by Jackson Lears in the May 16, 2011 issue of the The Nation entitled "Same Old New Atheism" .The article offers a compelling analysis of Sam Harris' works. Consideration is given to general atheistic social perspectives

  • what a bunch of flakes.

  • Romans 5:12 states that "sin came into the world through one man (Adam) and death through sin, so death came to all men, because all have sinned". The power of evil is never greater than the power of God, and a Biblical hero named Joseph reminds to his brothers that "What you intended for evil, God intended for good" (Gen 50:20). Read the story of Joseph (Gen 37-51). It's long but worth it. Joseph absolutely did not deserve to suffer as he did, but how he handled it is very instructive.

  • @Reason1600

Just because God began moving 21 days before completing his task does not challenge his sovereignty; it instead suggests that He is working on a different time frame than what we expect. You are correct in that Satan is known as Prince of this World, but God is merely letting him rule the Earth for a period. Right before his death, Jesus comments in John 16:11 that the Holy Spirit (or Advocate) will come and show that "The Prince of this World now stands condemned".

  • faith and deception synonymous? wow! Someone was sleeping in school.

  • Young people these days are more knowledgeable. Education is the bane of religion.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer @!!$@# religon, there is either truth or false its one or the other, what happans to one person after he dies happens to everyone exactly the same, when you drop a stone in this planet, it fall to the ground its a known truth, when you need to find is the truth, the truth is always consistent and it exsists. find it.

  • @Liseysman I am coming n n mid conversation, so in no way agreeing with previous statements made by others. U say when u drop a stone n this planet, it falls to the ground, its a known truth. This is so because the law of gravity can be tested and the results studied. What happens after death, however, cannot be studied, outside of religion. So, there is no possibility for evidence to show a truth. How can you prove that what happens to 1 person after he dies happens to every1 exactly the same?

  • @ThaRepresentative u cant prove its different, its scientifically proven that out bodies are not meant to last forever we are both going to die, 10 out 10 people will die, reading the Bible using logic and scraping what you can, its pretty safe to say you will either go to heaven or hell when you die, there have been accounts of people having near death experiences, look up the boy who went to heaven, the 15 min one, if you dont believe the Bible is true you have to find evidece against it.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Hosea 4:6 says "my people perish because of a lack of knowledge" its not the education itself, it is what is being taught. faith comes by hearing, and so does deception. the keyword is "hearing" not, "having heard"

  • @mooooooobs

"faith comes by hearing, and so does deception."

That's only logical, since faith and deception are practically synonymous.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer

    you are wrong.

  • The youth don't want god anymore they want technology and science its time for a new world.

  • @CitoSalvador thats a terrible excuse. god plans for them to struggle for the rest of their lives even when they're just as devoted as everyone else. if we saw a man do that to someone just for a plan...we would hang him. also i have read the bible and its pretty evil if you ask me. smashing children against rocks to make you feel better, drowning everyone on earth because god wasnt happy with what he made even though he knew they were going to turn out like that. seems pretty evil to me.

  • @BigMidget06 i bet the majority of amputees who have God in their life are happier than people who have everything, yet reject God. we're all equal in God's eyes. have you heard nick vujicic's testimony?

    /watch?v=H8ZuKF3dxCY

  • @lightbrownpoop the fact is god doesnt help them so when people continuously say god divinely heals people he never divinely heals amputees. why would god forget to help his children like that? is he a neglectful father or what? i think even nick would be happier if god helped him with his problem. not to say he isnt. but its kinda cruel for god to do that to someone dont you think?

  • Comment removed

  • @BigMidget06 once again, he's a more in depth video on his testimony.

    /watch?v=Tl58qufXfYk&feature=related

  • it may seem cruel from our human perspective, often i see things in life and think to myself "really, God? why oh why do you allow these things to happen", yet i still believe and trust him. tough times can either break or make a person. and as for Nick, he said that having arms and legs wouldn't bring him anymore happiness, because God is using him to reach hurting people through his disability. "there is no point in being complete on the outside, when you're broken on the inside".

  • @lightbrownpoop ok so hes fine. what about everyone else that wants their legs or arms back. why is god ignoring them? as i said. anyone that tried to do that to someone in our world for some plan would probably get the death sentence for cruel inhuman torture. i mean why does god never ever EVER!!! divinely heal an amputee. why are they the only ones god wont help.

  • @BigMidget06 when something bad happens to people, if God always answered their prayer and fixed their problem, then there wouldn't be much need for faith would there? see, the Christian faith is extremely complicated. faith and doubt are what hold it together. you can't know why everything happens the way it does. human reason cannot fully understand God's ways, this is why during storms in our lives we are called to be patient and trust God because he "works out everything for our good".

  • @lightbrownpoop well what about just ONE person getting a limb back. god hasn't even stepped up to do that and he never will. he cant. he isnt real enough to do so. so while science develops better methods to help them, several billion people praying for that one person to get their leg or arm back still will never get an answer from god. hands to more when they arnt clasped in prayer. also storms probably wasnt a good example since several churches have been destoryed because of them

  • Comment removed

  • @lightbrownpoop and this is the difference between the skeptic and the Christian. the skeptic complains, remains negative and must know all the absolute correct answers about God. the Christian is faithful, trusts God and remains patient in trying times, because he realizes that human reason didn't create the universe nor human reason itself, and God (if he's real) is obviously smarter than we are.

  • Jesus' performed miracles and many people who witnessed them, still didn't believe it after. they thought it must have some natural explanation as well as the resurrection. you're not the only one who has doubt about these things. believers do as well.

  • @lightbrownpoop its pretty hard not to see a man suddenly get his leg back as a miracle. theres really no way to be skeptical about that and why trust someone who causes disasters and then saves like a baby or a person and calls it divine intervention even though he sent the disaster in the first place.

  • @BigMidget06 If God is God, he has the ability to choose what prayers to answers and what prayers to refuse. and if God doesn't want to heal amputee's or allow things that you can't understand that doesn't make him cruel or anything, that makes him sovereign. it means that he has a better idea of how to run the world than you do.

  • @lightbrownpoop if he's a sovereign it's time for a revolution

  • @lightbrownpoop If God is 100% sovereign in the world, then he would immediately stop all suffering, death, and evil in the world. The reality is that God is NOT the prince of this world. Before you disagree with me, please read Daniel chapter 10.

  • @Reason1600

how does Daniel chapter 10 have anything to do with God's sovereignty?

  • @cfrost87 Daniel 10 demonstrates that God is not sovereign on this earth. God moved to answer Daniel's prayer as soon as it left his lips, but the messenger took 21 days to arrive. Daniel was lucky that the messenger got through at all! God is constantly moving to combat suffering, but his sovereignty is constantly challenged. Presently, God is not the ruler of this earth: "The Prince of this World" is not his title. However, a day is coming when he will rule unchallenged over Heaven and Earth.

  • @lightbrownpoop God HAS and DOES heal amputees....i dont know why people say He doesnt. nothing is impossible or Him.

  • @lightbrownpoop Dumb.... Leads nowhere...

  • @lightbrownpoop As Jesus said in his moment of anguish "Not my will but yours be done".... God will answer your prayers as long as it is in his will, your judge is to have faith that the plan of God is ultimately for the benefit of his elect. We all have our crosses to bear but in the end blessed are those who trust in the Lord.

  • @BigMidget06 i'll tell ya what...if you're honestly searching, i suggest you read Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. he's highly intelligent, articulate and answers tough questions about Christianity in a reason-based, rational, coherent way. please read it. i had the same questions and doubt as you before i became a Christian. this book helped me out alot. Ravi's helped me alot, too.

  • @lightbrownpoop

"Jesus' performed miracles and many people who witnessed them"

All written down in a book without any form of corroboration.

  • @BigMidget06 a *storm* means a difficult time in your life, in Christianity. sorry if that was confusing...

  • hey Here4urbrainz, sounds like you worship the earth- and your dense body will feed it with its minerals etc. so do you put rocks, trees and water over your fellow man too? The created is not greater than the Creator! This idolatry is running rampant in this day and age in my opinion-and is exactly what the worldly powers want you to do... Life in Marvelous times! people would rather save a tree than feed a homeless person-who has a million times more worth in Gods eyes!

  • @JDub420247 why doesnt god ever save anyone? in fact when was the last time anyone recorded god helping an amputee? even ones that praised and worshiped him to the fullest

  • 'i warship the land, sea, and air' i live my life believing i will return to the earth after my life passes me. i will become apart of a bigger plan. for my body shall feed the earth, nourish the plants, brush the air, and live as an element for eternity.

  • @Here4UrBrainz Like in Avatar?

Opportunity knocks on the door, it does for all of us, it comes once in a lifetime, however the greatest opportunity will knock and knock and knock until the door is opened, most won't open the door do to fear of what they'll see or hear while others open the door and listen. I ask that you open the door and listen with an open mind and an open heart.
