I think what Rich should have said as a final April Fool's joke at the show's close was "This is Rich Fields speaking for Match Game" since they played the first few parts of the theme for one of the pricing games as a cue and during the show's end, But still this is pretty funny.

People do this when one contestant is so confident that the other is over. So it's almost a safety bid. Cause you're not going to go over bidding $1 on a showcase obviously! Happens like a half dozen or so times every season

I saw this reran a day or two ago.

I liked how they used different sounds in place of the wheel beeping in the showcase showdowns and how one of them was the Cliff Hanger's Yodeling Music and when the wheel was slowing they slowed it down. LOL. :)

The Backwards Showcase was a neat and original idea I don't recall being used before. I have to say that despite forgetting to tape this (damn work), this is original and worth the view. I also like bigjon's turntable clip from the fourth IUFB as well. Thanks for posting these, both of you!

Seen the show myself - everybody's wearing glasses-and-nose face disguises, and the entire second showcase (even the SUV) is shown backwards - everything from the rear. And the thing with the trip - wrong pictures for the Mediterrainean cruise.

OK, I'm not a big fan of the Carey era, but I'll give em this one for being cute. Would have never thought of them using the Match Game theme at the end. A for originality! :)
