@isawick not only are they atypical/unconventional (mainstream wise), they do so without pretentiousness. They're not atypical for the sake of being atypical to be "unique". They are genuinely unique. GENUINE. There is actual music talent.

I feel that a lot of indie type bands/singers have a "forced weirdness" just so they can be unique/anti-mainstream.

TCW are none of that. They're just them. I love it.

The Civil Wars have the amazing ability of taking great songs and playing them in their own style, creating something both eerily familiar, and at the same time, not like anything we've heard before. I look forward to hearing more covers like this.
