I went there at least 10 years ago and i remember my family and i playing hid and seek throughout the entire place. I hid in the dungeon. worst decision ever i heard some really weird noises and had a strong feeling of someone standing right next to me. I would love to go on their ghost tour.
omg this place is so crazy! my dad works here and a lot of freaky stuff happens there...like once they where down there and pennies were falling from the celling and hitting them and its just way cool to go on their ghost tour at night... u should do it some time
I visited the fort as part of a Jr High field trip back in the autumn of '74. The big highlight was the human skeleton's on display in a building. I've learned that they have since been removed. While there was a recreated cell there certainly was no "torture chamber". I've read and researched everything I can find on the history and siege of Fort William Henry and never came across any mention of a torture chamber. I've concluded that the 1950's excavation of the fort was poorly executed.
@matthiasbrook you are correct. there was no "torture chamber," but there was also no dungeon either. They portray it as a dungeon today just for entertainment. It was really a hospital during the seige. I am a guide there and have been for 4 years. The original "dungeon" would've just been shackles in the original entryway. Also, yes the bodies have been excavated and a buried in our cemetary now, unseen.
went hear today and i heard chains rattling. i was alone.
