  • unfortunately only 240p,so the sound quality is not on that level he usually sings, but still wonderful :)

  • nothing really mattered when you called out my name, in fact nothing really mattered at all...

  • Wow!!! MUCH LIKE BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD'S SONG 'SAD MEMORY'

  • That is heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • Wauw!

  • @faxi22

    omg... idiot.

  • @faxi22 first of all; labels are pointless ways to describe something . so shut up because you obviously are just a stupid person overall .

and second of all; based on the description of "emo", this is quite the opposite . listen to the original and i'm sure you'll agree considering it's very upbeat . and at least this song has meaning .

So unless over the 11 months it's been since you've commented you've gotten smarter in your choice of word and thought , i suggest you and your bad taste STFU .

  • @EatingtheScene fuck u stupid asshole suck my dick to see if u got some milk

  • @faxi22 Wow , what a great comeback[:

  • @EatingtheScene enjoy my friend

    Beautiful...

  • always sounds better live

  • I like this version better than the origional...

Seems more heartfelt, fits the content better.

    Love it.

  • Interesting version of a great song.

  • i find it interesting that he uses a classical guitar to perform this, I think in the style of having brasil mentioned in the name that he would use it in the style of a bossa nova player.

  • It's called Trains TO Brazil, not FROM Brasil. Sorry. Music's objective anyways.

  • anyone know where to download this version?

  • Oh I do love this video so MUCH.

  • this is beautiful

  • Wikipedia:

In an interview for BBC Brazil, MC Lord Magrão, the band's guitar player, explained that the song title "Trains to Brazil" is a reference to the fatal incident involving the Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot by the police in a subway, and that the band's singer/keyboardist Fyfe Dangerfield composed the song in 2002 originally under the title "Life Song".

  • Actually he was shot in 2005 and the song wasn't released until 2006. It was on their From the Cliffs EP. So, they're probably telling the truth. Dufus.

  • ive always loved the meaning behind this song, and the style in this version suits the lyrics far better in my opinion :]

fyfes singing about the precariousness of life and how we seem to have forgotten its value "cant you live and be thankful your here" and the title is dedicated to the brazilian man shot in the london underground, an example of how quickly lives can be ended

fyfe used to teach at my school :] haha

  • You lucky bastard, what was he like?

  • F**k me that was incredible i was thinking of covering this at the open mic but hadn't crossed my mind to play it like that. hmmmm.

  • So so beautiful. I sang this to bemused villagers in Nepal last summer. Every time i hear it i feel like im back there

  • Simply Beautiful

  • There is more acoustic stuff they did in our camper van for off-guard gigs recently.

  • im not always a sucker for acoustic, but acoustic guillemots always get me.

  • any old guillemots gets me. but yeah, agreed.

  • REAL! musicians and real music, this song means so much to me.

  • oh i love fyfe and all thee guillemots

  • (through sparks and shining dragons i do)

  • this is beautiful. i love fyfe i do.

  • her in the corner freaks me out juuuussst a little bit.. hehe... they're still great tho :-)

  • aww, fyfe is a lefty :)

  • he's actually a righty but he's such a musical genious that he learned to play the guitar like a lefty.

  • They are totally lost in the music which you done see often

love the original but this is a cracking version

  • Does anyone have the mp3 for this?

  • buen flow

  • de lo mejor

  • I love this version so much more than the original *sigh*

  • Beautiful song!

But I prefer the original one, more energetic...

    he's lefty as me!

  • hold tight the lefties

  • hes actually right handed, but just plays lefty guitar.. which is amazing.

  • just to listen to how the track was originally wrote is awsome ..totally heart felt . all cool bands and artists should release there tracks with b'sides acoustic to really get a feeling for the track..x

  • this version of the song never gets old

  • i luv his name lol

    fyfye dangerfield

    ^ lol i wish tht was my name!! =}

  • shes called 'aristasabel hawkes'!

  • I want to see Michael Jackson singing this

  • anybody has the mp3 for this?

  • i have

  • wypierdalać i dont have!

  • in this his voice reminds of damien rice, this is excellent!

  • Definitely the best version of the song. Soooo well done

  • perfect song, acoustic it´s even better

  • I love this version of the song. This song is perfect. Well..the hole record is just perfect from beggining to end...But this acoustic version just take my words away(: love it

  • Ok this is unnaturally haunting, perfect for the song, love it. Has anyone got any idea how i could get hold of an mp3 of this?

  • Legendary...

  • i so have a crush on arista ^_^

    shes preety

    haha

i like this version better than the recoding, its more intimate.

  • I love this version of 'Train To Brazil' i think it makes the song sound even more beautiful.

  • simply gorgeous. unattainably good songwriting

  • such a hauntingly beautiful version.

I love Fyfe, Arista is also good (she always plays with her eyes closed though!)

  • didnt know he was a lefty. makes him pretty creative.

  • the girl looks embarrassed to sing the sax riff...

    great version anyway!

  • The Girl wrote the song!

  • Really?? wow, thats cool...

i wonder why she has a music stand in front of her?, you'd think she has her own song memorized:P

  • shes classically trained....its a habit for her to read music...even her own...

  • I've been trying to figure out the chords, so far I've got this:

    Verse goes D, F#m7, Bm(7?), Gm

    then D, F#m7, Bm, Em

That's probably not entirely correct and it's certainly a simplified version but sounds OK to me. Now if anyone can get the rest of them?

  • verses are D, Dmaj7, Bm, Gmin7, D, Dmaj 7, Bmin, Em,

then "and im thinking about.." is: Dmaj 7, F#min7, G,

then in quick succesion: Dmaj7, Em, F#min, A , Dmaj 7 ("I won't get me down") then F#min, G and repeat for the second half. that is a rought guide its not 100% accurate but its near enough.

  • It let me speechless... Amazing performance and I join sabotagethefool to ask somoeone for the chords of this song, I can't find it myself:(

  • If anyone can get me the chords of this I would be SO happy, beautiful song!

  • Beautiful version... but I prefer the energetic original one. Fyfe's voice is just amazing (reminds me a lot of Damien Rice).

  • Damien Rice ain't got nothing on this.

  • such a breathtaking performance, he puts every inch of his emotion into this song, i love it

  • i love this version of a terrible song

  • wow.... wow... and wow

love this version, the original is amazing... but this one... wow

i love how you can tell how much they are enjoying and loving it.

    Love the album also

  • best lyrical song Ive heard in years

  • wow =]

  • hes amazing.

  • is it possible for anyone not to like them?

  • no, i dont think so.

  • UNBEFUKINGLIEVABLE!!

  • wow thats so so amazing. i wish they would play it like that when they're live...then again the original is amazing live!!

  • sublime

  • thats incredible, fyfe your my hero.

  • how lovely :]

  • The Guillemots have become an addiction. They're my new Elvis. I would give me left eye to have seen them play with Rufus Wainwright in the UK. Hopefully they'll make a trip to the states very soon.

  • I saw them on Pukkelpop 2006 and talked to the guy singing, he's such a cute guy and this version is really great ! thank you

  • i cant get over how much the lead singer sounds like damien rice

  • awesome,no other word needed.

  • sweet:)

  • Wow. Must have listened to this at least 10 times day. Its beautiful and it makes me so happy even though the words are so serious.

  • Awh. Such a pretty song.:D

  • i love fyfe.

i love this song anyway and acoustic its just like WOW.

  • i love this song enough on cd but that was absolutely stunning.
