Thank you for posting this. I am an American living in Japan. Before coming here I was introduced to SGI-LA. I had been enchanted by Buddhism for some time before but as everything seems to happen when you attract it I met people who prepared me for my journey abroad. They gave me books and prayer beads. Now I'm here in Japan and I'm able to explore various temples and meet other Buddhist. Every morning I listen to and/or practice with this video and it has been tremendously helpful :-)
I had a strong headache, I meditated and chanted, in few minutes, headache is gone :) it's not a miracle, it's a fact... It REALLY heals. It does not have to be a miracle, like christianity or islam has, it is a fact, that it heals.
I'm a Buddist/ SGI memeber, my heart feels clean too but i also feel intouch with my innner wisdom ......aware during that during I am in Buddha state ! i love the speed of this really touches me thank you >
@soulreapericig0: I am fairly new in the Nichiren studies, prayers and chanting but as I understand it, we are not praying to an entity...we are the entity. The Buddha is within us...that being said there is a quote that I try to remember and repeat to myself...you must seek peace from within, do not seek it without. The inner peace is already within us, it is a matter of us opening ourselves up to release it. I continue to read and study and find some peace just in doing that.
nam myoho renge kyo, that is the way the law is, not exactly as it sounds when lots of people are chanting it ("namyo ho renge kyo) you are still expected to pronounce each syllable, only they blend. Listen to it carefully and you will HEAR them say NAM-MYOHO-RENGE-KYO.
chanting it wrong will only reinforce chanting it wrong, and then it won't work right for you.
@Yemojapath one always gain benefit by chanting daimoku gongyo. yes the gohonzon is in your heart and it is a reflection of you. the important thing is that you have conviction within you when you chant and you study nichiren's teachings. going to sgi.org will help your studies which in turn will strengthen your faith and fortify your practice. faith practice and study are the three pillars if Nichiren Budhism.
you don't have to ask, you should decide stright! it's call "ichinen" (determination)...
And you don't ask to the Buddha, you "ask" to the mistic law that is inside of you: WE are the "Gohonzon", we are the mystic law, and if we don't understand that it will be a lost of time...
As sayd before, don't ask, decide, is different.. do it before to chant, before to do Gongyo... You can use this "formula": "I use this gongyo for this.... and this... and that puropse", and after u detreminate again during the silent prayer (the 4th in the morning and the 3rd in the evening )
if you go into the website sgi.org you can find their cultural center and from there locate a group or someone to chant with close to you. i am gmalfaro@yahoo.com NAMYO HO RENGE KYO
Respond to this video... I LIKE THIS VIDEO WITH THE WORDS FOR GONGYO. I USED TO LISTEN TO THIS VERY SAME SOUND TRACK BUT DIFFERENT VIDEO W/O WORDS. I STILL DONT KNOW IT COMPLETE . THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT POST. NAMYO HO RENGE KYO. HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS AS MUCH OR MORE THAN I DO.

Does one still gain benefit from doing this gongyo w/out a Gohonzon? Is the Gohonzon in one's own heart? Lovely video what a blessing!
