LISTEN EVERYONE, IT DOES WORK!! Thanks man, never mind all these 15 minute computer programming lessons the answer is so simple, do it just like the ringtones but make them really short like under 10 seconds, and THEY DO SHOW IN YOUR TEXT TONES!!

Ok, I have found out the reasoning why it wouldn't transfer from itunes to my text tones but they were found in my ringtones. You must cut the length of the tone down to exactly 30 secs or less. As soon as I did that to all the tones I had saved, it was available in both my text tones and my ringtones. :) Hope this helps everyone that was having the same problem as I was.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I have the same problem. I find the tones I've added exactly the way I should have, in my Ringtones but when I click on Text Tones, they're not there. But judging by every other video that shows how to create custom Text Tones, your iPhone must be Jail broken before you can use them as Text Tones. Not sure if this one is the same, but I do appreciate the help on getting the ringtones to work! :)

After you have the ringtones made, can you delete them from your library and still have them in your phone, or will that mess everything up?

@MaxxwellUhmazing666 yes you CAN, but if you sync after you deleted the rontones then NO, they wont show up on your phone. So i would just leave them in itunes.

@33spashley go to settings...then sounds...then click on Text Tone... then ALL of your tones.ringtones should be there, click on the one you want as a text tone and you're done. you HAVE to have ios5 !

i did all the steps one by one and everything was okay until i opened Text Tone, it was empty, and then i opened the ringtone section and i got my ringtones there no problem. My ? is, why i don't have the ringtones i created in text tones section? that is driving me crazy! Thank you for the video! keep doing it..

@ChacalososProduction Does it show your ringtones/text tones in itunes after you sync your device? if it does, then it should be on your device too. It doesnt get saved in alert tones, all sounds get save in ringtones in your settings on your device. It should be there if you did everything correct :)

I tried to change my song to m4r but you can not change the type of file just rename it and that does nothing, can you help?

@jlward27 its because you're using the wrong copy of the song. When you right click on the song the 2nd time and click on create AAC version, that version is the one you can change to m4r. The original one you can delete. That should do it
