I think it's all relative. My wife is taking 90mg of prednisone (graft versus host disease after a bone marrow transplant for leukemia), and started to have these tremors after three weeks.

Prednisone and prednisolone are somewhat different drugs, and may have different effects at different dosages, I don't know.

my hands and head have started doing this. I have to take 8 every day for 2 weeks and come down 1 each week.I take this as i suffer from crohns disease.I also have spinal damage as the prednisolone is said to be wasting the muscles around my spine.I feel as if i am fighting a loosing battle.When on this medication it is essential to get ure bloods checked every week as it raises your white blood cells.Anyone on these i wish the best of luck.

My tonsils have been swollen since December its now June. I have tonsillitis. And they gave me a prescription for Prednisone 10 MG. I have to take 6 a day for 2 days. Then 4 a day for 2 days, and 2 a day for 2 days. I started today and I took a quick nap and i thought i pissed in the bed, but it was sweat. My shirt was soaked especially around the neck area and my back. I could squeeze the sweat out my shirt and I have heavy eyes. Is this a common side effect from this medication? Thanks!

If I didn't have people who loved and needed me I would not take prednisone. I suffer so they don't. Been on it for 10 years, 300 pounds now (5 foot), acne on chest and back, blurred vision, hands shake, kidney/liver problems, moon face and hump,facial hair, brusing, etc. I am breathing without oxygen. I'm still here.

I'm on pred too and even on 10 mg my hands shake terribly. I am now sadly back up to 20 mg as this drug doesn't seem to help my disease much (Birdshot Retinochoroidopathy). I've been up to 80mg too and that was hell. Hungry all the time, moon-face and mood swings that make me feel like I am completely crazy, Somedays I could kill, it scares me!, shortness of breath, leg cramps at night, lack of sleep or then completely exhausted. It's such an horrendous drug to be on. Good luck to us all.

Also, I can't play the guitar anymore: I get spasms on my fingers all the time, and I get exhausted quite easily. Only thing I really wish as a side effect: hair growth!!! ;-) (would be nice some hair on my bald spot). Anyway, im glad Im not alone in my misery. Another 3 weeks to go to reach my 0mg goal!

pS:I had a fever for a week and a half now, been to the hospital twice,and they cant tell what kind of infection I have.I just need to wait till i get another symptom.sigh

I read some 10 - 15 comments randomly, and i cant believe you guys had the side effects with such LOW doses. To share a bit about myself: I had trombocytopenia (I think that is how its spelt), which meant a low platelet count. I started with 100mg of prednisone. Mood swings were terrible for the first 3 weeks. Also the sweating. Then doc told me to reduce 5mg for every 3rd day. Right now Im at 40mg, sweating gone, yet I do have the moon-face,tons of acne on shoulders and my back.

anyway, I had bad bad bad lung/respiratory infection from a cold or flu or something. Had it for almost 6 months, nothing helped. Many meds, no relief. Prednisone for 10 days, infection gone and I could almost run a marathon (slight exaggeration but not much). So I HIGHLY recommend prednisone for short term use.

prednisone gave me more then what i had to start with (joint pain from lupus) but in the end it will be all worth it.

When I was taking 4-6 pills a day for prednisone I got this hand trembling. Once I lowered to 10mg I stopped getting it. I hate the weight gain. I gained 5 pounds from prednisone. It only gives me weight on my face and a little around my stomach though.

Hey ty99999returns... Yes, Prednisone can have some nasty side effects but when you weigh them against the side-effects of NOT using Prednisone, the drug usually wins!

So Prednisone makes you moody, fat, swollen, shaky, sweaty, hungry, nautious - but it also saves your life?

I cannot understand how people like you can say things like "Death to pharma"! Our lifespans have increased, quality of life increased, sickness & suffering decreased! What planet are you living on?

I took prednisone for a month. (several pills a day). The effects for me were oily skin, a red face and severe acne! It was Hell.
