This is why Sonic hasn't been as good as he used to, because "fans" put down everything that isn't the same as the originals - adventure games

@Realcoolblue SEGA screwed themselves over by having their customers drop a ton of cash on a new console and then released a new one a every 1-2 years later. It also pissed off everyone that was making games for those consoles they abandoned. Sonic isn't dead, but the majority of his recent games have been pretty bad. Not because SEGA tries new things with him, but because alot of those game have bad controls, gameplay, etc.

I bet you will somebody who likes a sonic game from the adventure games to generations, even 06 and shadow the hedgehog(guns). The games don't have bad controls, people just don't like them. People didn't like werehog because it wasn't fast, they didn't like secret rings because of motion controls, same thing with black knight, and people don't like 06 because of annoying story.

I don't care if Sonic weilds a sword or turns into a werehog. SEGA can try different things with him. And your right, it is opinions. But SEGA's problem is every new game they try to cater to the fan's opinions and then they still are never happy with it. Imo, SEGA should try using other franchises as well. They have alot of good ones left in the dust.

@Shellshocker1013 They probably don't have many other franchises because they never got popular, I mean Jet Set Grind/Radio is another franchise of theirs, they tried to get it famous by making a sequel on the gamecube but it wasn't popular enough, so they didn't make another one. They have tried reviving other franchises like the NiGHTS sequel, Samba De Amigo remake, and the Dreamcast collection.. Their only other popular franchise is house of the Dead, and it's for arcades
