    You're Betta is SO gorgeous to. Very graceful, and looks like it's got a bit of lippy(lipstick) on! :-)

  • @hotlips4000isback2 Thank you for your comment :) Griffin was a beautiful betta. He passed a month ago unfortunately. I believe he lived a little more than 3 years, hope he was happy :)

  • @fegde Amazing. c:

    I just got my first Betta yesterday after 15 years.

    Do you have any tips to raising them?;;

  • @Tatsumase Ah congratulations! Bettas are great pets, you'll see that they develop a personality. He will soon be watching you do your chores, and getting excited when you come near.

    Tips...I'd say most important is to have a constant temperature in your tank. It's terrible that they sell all those little bowls where there's no room for a heater. Ideally you should have your betta in a 5g bowl. There's mini heaters that will work on those.

  • @Tatsumase

    Second, if you have a tank without filter, change 20% of the water every week. If you use tap water, make sure it has a similar temperature and it is treated to remove chlorine. I usually filter my water and also treat it with water conditioner for tropical fish.

    Feeed is also very important. You can give him flakes, try giving him some peas once in a while to prevent constipation, and maybe some dry worms as treats. Remember constipation can lead to swimbladder disorders.

  • @Tatsumase Some people recommend giving them live bloodworms once in a while, but I can't recommend it. One of my bettas got sick from eating them and got dropsy afterwards.

    If your betta is on a tank with a filter, say 10g, make sure it is cicled first. If it isn't, your betta may get stressed due to the ammonia spike, and then get sick.

    If you can keep good temperature and good water conditions, you won't have to deal with any disease. I hope everything goes well! You should post a video :)
