My dad's entire family basically graduated from Penn State, but he almost went to Michigan, but it turned out that Penn State had a better engineering degree. You can tell from this video that there is a sense of rivalry from the Michigan side, despite what many say. If Michigan had won nine times in a row against Purdue or Minnesota, it would have been no big deal. But the fans here seem almost as excited to beat Penn State as they would be if they beat Ohio State.

I think Penn State wins big in 2008. It's on homecoming and Penn State almost never loses a homecoming game. For example, last year, unranked PSU blew out #19 Wisconsin 38-7.

Maybe I'm being a little optimistic here, but I have a strong feeling about 45-0. I'd still be happy about something like 27-7, though. I actually hope Michigan doesn't completely suck next year, mainly so that Penn State fans don't hear "you can only beat us when we're down, apparently". I think Michigan goes 7-5 or 8-4 in 2008, depending on whether or not they land Pryor.

I know it's a little apples and oranges, but Wisconsin in 2007 was expected to give us a close game, or even beat us, but they were whooped 38-7. And this is a Wisconsin team that finished with a better overall and Big Ten record than us. But I might be a little optimistic afterall, since Iowa also had a winning streak over us, and we only beat them 27-7.

In 2008, Michigan gets to come to Beaver Stadium and play against a strong Penn State team. Playing Penn State has always been the tonic for whatever ailed Michigan's football team, but that won't work anymore in 2008. But I don't want to see Michigan completely disgraced either, since they never did that to us. All the workings were in place for a good PSU year next year, all of our losses were by less than a TD except the Ohio State game this year, and next year should be great.

Personally, I'm not a Michigan fan, and I only would cheer for Michigan over the Florida Gators, a team that's been rivals with Notre Dame for a long time, way longer than the PSU/UM thing, mainly because the Gators aren't even a big 10 school. Glad you're a Penn State fan though.
