It seems as though when I am playing my guitar, no sound comes out when my fingers are down on the strings that are on the neck of the guitar. I know you are not supposed to put your fingers on the fret, but as close to it as possible, what shall I do?

@SweetZinfandel your fingers should go on the fret. Don't just touch the strings, you have to push really hard. It will hurt at first, but it's necessary for the right sounds

@SaleemaMoumene Lately Gibson electric guitars suck because of poor quality control. Gibson Acoustic, however, are very well crafted and nothing gets out of luthiers' vision. I recommend them to anyone who's serious about playing acoustic guitars.
