The only thing I don't get about this video is how on Earth the people in the background can resist running up and glomping them all. Especially Brian! His hair looks gorgeous here! :'D
That's because there isn't enough talk in their lyrics about rape, murder, or violence.
I miss songs like this and the others Sweet (and other rock bands) put out. A lot of kids today wish that they were born during our time as they hate the music that is out today. I can't say I blame them.
I agree totally....just take a listen to any early 70's compilation CD and look at the songs that hit the Top 40 like " Billy Don't Be A Hero", " The Night Chicago Died"and "Convoy"....like I said there's no way that'd be played today....I look at all the K-Tel LPs I had and see how innocent they were...heck, we thought it was downright naughty when KC and The Sunshine Band sang " Shake Your Booty"!!! We'd have keeled over knowing what gets airplay today!
Moi marjorie987! "Poppa Joe" oli Sweetin ainut single ykkönen Suomessa, mutta hyvin "Funny Funny" menestyi myöskin. Se oli parhaimmillaan single listan viides!
actually when it comes to hair it's a cross between Steve and Brian i'm jealous of....i would absolutely love straight ginger hair...now with the aid of dye, my hair can go ginger...but straighteners don't appear to do one damn thing for me...it waves out again the next time i move...naturally my hair has probably been closer to Andy's.
no...my hair never goes how i want it..so i resigned myself to the fact it's never gonna look like any Sweet member's...lol..so next time i'm going purple, and the time after that; who knows?..maybe pink n blue together..lol
wow...yeah i didn't think of that.....that could be like my first video.....if i choose to sing don't judge me though because funny funny isn't the one i'm best at! lol...great idea though!
Unfortunately...it's not going to happen...since my digicam has decided to have a breakdown...and is no longer working, and i haven't got the gold, silver and brass to buy a new one, and my parents say they'll buy me one for x-mas...but that's after Berlin.
When they're running around those pillars or whatever they were - they look like they're thinking "Bugger it, I wanna bugger off to the pub!" :)))))))
The reason they look pissed off is because the shoot nearly didn't happen because Brian didn't show up. 'The pub' is where they found him. Shouldn't speak ill of the dead, should I.
Bell records wa responsible for the 1st 3 Lp's in the US, until they were signed in America to Capital Records. Bell handled kitchy acts such as Partridge Family & Tony Orlando & Dawn. They were a band who deserved a better contract in the States, they would have been much more popular. When Bell folded in 1973 This band HAD no contract in the US for 2 years, until Desolation Blvd came out in 1975. I just think they were treated very poorly in the US.
You're right Bunnyhead, this is definitely more Partridge Family than Deep Purple! I certainly favour the heavier stuff, but the 'pop' Sweet has a certain kitch charm maybe?
@clockworklou , if you think about it ,, this song and alot of their early love power type songs , were very similar to the Partridge family ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thank god for songs like , you did me wrong alright , and i want to be commited !!!!! , after just writing this comment and thinking abit , i THEN i scrolled down to the posts below ,, and hello Partridge family comments !!!
OK----But it certainly looks like footage from a promo film! So, even if if was used in that German documentary, from what promo film did the German documentary take the footage?

sigh....no freakin' way a song like that would crack the charts today unless the DJs were making fun of it...I miss the '70's...

@999manman what about Justin Bieber's "Baby" and Rebecca Black's "Friday"? They are the bubblegum music of today.

Funny Funny - their first "bubblegum" hit is a hugely underrated song. If only there was a full version of it on Youtube.

My natural hair is closer to Brian's. But now I have it dyed ginger with henna. Still doesn't look as good as Steve's though))))

I once had a weird idea of dying thin stripes of my hair ginger, black, and brown - to honour Sweet !! )))) Fandom is a weird thing indeed)))

Jeez, Bell records treated this band like SHITE!!
bunnyhead71 5 years ago
I think they were with RCA when this came out, as with all the hits until 1977, at least in the UK anyway. Bell??

@clockworklou you are right. The were signed with Bell Records in the USA until 1974 when they left to go to Capitol who treated them a lot better.
