Sleepwalk is an extremely significant song in my memory. It represents a time when it was the first slow dance. It was a simple enough song that all the surf bands could play it, and no vocals were necessary. All the girls would clamor for the facility to turn down the gymnasium lights for that song; at the high school dance. Thanks Dr. Ryman
To hear a new version of a favorite song for the first time and love it is so cool! Some great Jeff Beck notes but this is it's own thing and I love it. The video beautifully echoes the soft floating to dreamland feeling of the music. I gotta hear this again.
Excellent old friend! Gotta love this old tune and your rendition is on the mark... lots of emotion. Love the visuals too. You and I are in that "phase" where these things have value to us. Keep going Dan.
Incredibly soulful interpretation of this classic! Dr Ryman - you rule in my book! Love how you get the "strings" to pop/harmonic as if you were really plucking. Such talent, such soul! Truly. And the video is as dreamy as the song. If you could bottle and sell such talent and know-how, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett would be asking you for loans!
wonderful! i've loved Sleepwalk since childhood, it represents the best of the late 1950s! a beautiful tribute to one of the greatest guitar pieces ever, a song that never ages. hard to believe it has reached its 50th anniversary, but Dr Ryman renews it with this performance. and made an art film at the same time.
