  • Hey Tony, I actually own the very guitar you're playing in this video. I only wish I could play like you. BTW, my name is McManus

  • @junescomma thats too funny.

  • Got to be the best there is...seen him a couple of times in Glasgow and didn't hear one bum note either time. Completely sublime playing...

  • Was this mic'd or recorded from the internal pick-up?

  • @sgsanders1966

yes. plus a little from the acoustic sound of the guitar but not much.

  • Wonderful!

  • You never seem so lose my attention with your wonderful music and I would also add that I love your voice. Its tone is magnificent.... XD

  • Ha...playing in a guitar store..and no hint of Stairway, Sultans, Smoke on the Water or Apache..!

'"yes - I'll take it . Can you do a deal for cash..?"

  • @ahpollyolly

It's actually at the Chet Atkins festival in Nashville. I have one of Mr Mermer's nylon string guitars- very different to this.

  • I'm getting dizzy...

  • Thank you for the reply. I was unaware of the fact that 7/16 occurred at al in Norwegian folklore. Did you find this particular tune on this 'feleverkene' site?

  • @celtharp

It's a composition of hardanger fiddle player Annbjorg Lien with whom I did a few gigs years back. I don't think that rhythm is traditional

  • rythm seems to be 7 beat (geampara or ruchenitsa type) 1212123

  • @celtharp

it is 7/16 but not from eastern europe. the tune is from Norway.

  • ive played with tony a few times, he is truely amazing and he was jelious of me for my guitar because i have a takamine and im only 14

  • this man is rediculous

  • dude the smile at the end topped it off its like he's saying "just another day"

  • Man, what? Ths amazin? Whats the tuning? that couldnt be dadgad?

  • @Funloverdude The tuning is something like K F P O I R, it's impossible for most of us to understand!

  • @Funloverdude actually it is

  • @Funloverdude

    it sure is.

  • @mcmanustony Damn!

  • hi Tony,,,,still blown away when ya played at St James hall in Vancouver ,,peace to you and keep on pickin ,

  • I like how the old man in the back is just looking around all casual. I would lose my damn mind if I saw something like that in person.

  • @shreddy412 lol tonny's my neighbour

  • @shreddy412 got the chance to watch him play and meet him, he's such a nice guy and so inspiring!

  • gota love the celtic style

  • awesome!!!

  • Awsome guitar picking!

  • awesome, thanks for the song name!

  • What's the tune and what album. I know it too well, I'm pretty sure I couldn't find it on Ceol More and I'm fairly sure it's on the self titled - please confirm someone, I'm going to literally explode if I don't find out!

  • There sounds like there tons of extra notes coming from nowhere, but it's all him.

  • its a pity is not as well known as the likes of andy mc and dufour

  • He's quite low-key. I like it like that, though - those that love it, and are dedicated, CAN get into contact with him and learn from him. I doubt very much you could get that from Antoine are Andy.

  • What ! ! ! just amazing.... leaves me speakless.....what a guy..

  • The title is "finger picking demo" but is this a named song?

  • @Peerlessfan : I have a song called "Fonix" by a Norwegian(?) fiddler by the name of Annbjorg Lien, which sounds alot like this. I don't know who wrote it.

  • @dummyguava He does the song "Fonix" on the album "Singing Sands" with fretless bass player Alain Genty, and he mentions Annbjorg, also Bjorg Ole Rasch. I've finally found it, thanks a million for the song name - now I know where it was.

  • He's Scottish, now living in the states (or canada, I can't remember) and touring all over that world you mention. Yeah he gets out. Just plays a bit of guitar on the side, that's all.

  • It would be nice to be that good. He is increadible.

  • Wow was that ever the sweetest fuckin thing i've ever seen!

  • I think it accentuates the already very "pipey" sound of the tuning and arrangement of this piece. Good work Tony, and Rich

  • Amazing Tony Mcmanus as usual

  • fanstatic arrangement!! weird guitar though!

  • It definitely gives his playing a different sound.. I'd like to here him on a full-electric some day, that could be interesting

  • guess what the guys at PRS gave me!

  • Hmmmmmm... possibly a brand new fiddle?
