His talents are equal to those of Ted Neeley and Steve Balsamo. With a little more control and clarity, he will one day be a SuperStar. I was amazed at his passion but he is not the first to "cry". Steve Balsamo and Ian Anderson also performed tears during their song. I wish the best for Daniel.

I honestly adore Daniel and his passion and emotion is this song is breathtaking! Never fails to bring me out in goosebumps with the long note at about 3:30... He's a lovely lovely man too. Yumyum.

It has been a while since I saw this musical, but this performance brings back every memory. Where I live we are blessed with a spectacular outdoor scene carved into the mountain, the atmosphere is INCREDIBLE! I would have thought that performance (from one of Norway's leading musical stars) unbeatable, but this is just unbelieveable. STUNNING!

Daniel Boys is so under-rated. He has such a soothing voice and for me this rendition showed all the emotion and feeling that the song deserves. Too many performers over-dramatise but this from Daniel is just right. We need to see more of Daniel Boys on our tv screens!

He definitely does a fantastic job on this song. I still prefer Ian Gillan's version, but the truth is that you cannot compare Ian Gillan's version with any of these later versions. Ian Gillan (and several of the earlier singers in the 70s) sang it as a rock song; it has transformed into more of a broadway show style. Not that this is a bad thing--it is just that it is like comparing apples or oranges when looking the early rockers and these modern performers.

Nice voice but I can't help thinking it's a performance by a nice and tidy lad. He lacks edginess and the voice loses power in the upper registers.

This is pretty good, but I'm so used to the version from the film that anything else fails to come close.

Daniel's version is just a different interpretation. He gets most of the emotions, but he never seems to get angry at God, like Ted did. Other than that, he's got the pleading and desperation that this song needs.

well well, what a suprise little Danny boy is.Honestly didn't expect it to be that good. considering he's not been around that long. I know he has some experience in musical theatre, but this is great. He hasn't got the total package like Balsamo, who is the Boss when it comes to this song, i can hear Balsamo's influence and style in some of the key notes, he's got loads of time to get better and better, this is not an easy song to tackle, some have murdered it over the years. well done Daniel.
