Dude, how on earth could you have the gain at 9 o'clock and not feedback? Also, do you find the Fireball loud enough for gigs or do you find it drowining out with 100 watt heads?
@5150VanAlien the amp would have fedback massively if ben here stopped playing. the amp keeps up with bigger ones fine as long as they are not drowning out everyone with sheer volume being a dick. I have played this thing next to 6505s and mesa dual rectifiers and it goes fine as long as you leave the mids higher then the bass and treble.
@gtjumper Thanks for the insight dude and the fact that the Fireball can keep up with a 6505/Dual Rec. A good point re: mids! ENGL's don't need the gain high at all when they're being pushed by volume and keeping the mids higher, is a good idea, whilst easing off on treble and presence.
Tell me, does the MXR 6 band eq pedal make a big difference to the tone? i.e. make it louder or more headroom? Thanks.
@5150VanAlien in a nutshell every amp with a loop should have the mxr eq in it (be it either the 10 band or the 6 used here). Mids are what makes the amps perceived volume louder, if you dial in mids on the eq (in a band this is what ya do for clarity) it cuts like a hot knife through butter!
@5150VanAlien 60 watts turned up is lethal! chappers tried out a 25 watts mesa transatlantic, it pushed 114 dB. a 100 watts soldano was only 9 dB louder. so the fireball would be around 120 then. 100 is where pain begins...
Did you notice after the guy cranked the volume, the amp did get any louder but produced a thicker tone. Which shows...crank those amps people and let your neighbours say what they want.
@gtjumper Thanks bro...stay metal. I too have a Fireball and the Savage 120 and both are EVIL amps. What cabs are you using? Is the Marshall the 1960 Lead or Vintage and is the ENGL the Standard or Pro cab?
@5150VanAlien hey bud. The marshall is a 1960a with GT-75s, and the engl is the standard refitted with the V30 speaker. How does the savage compair to your Fireball? I hear they are totally different in that the savage is better live?
Hey Bro, thanks for the insight. The Fireball is a great amp for easy gigging but I do find the tone more scooped than the Savage. The Savage though, is a beast and the 6550 valves really give it balls and a growl like a Carpathian wolf being disembowelled. The Savage definitely gives you more sound options and what I consider to be a more organic metal tone and the clean is so underrated. Hope this helps bro and crank it so your neighbour pensioners throw their dentures over in disgust.
hard to respect anyone who plays through a BC Bitch....I thought they were for 12 year old wannabes.

Yeah dude, this was more a demo for mah mate playing it in the vid, He loves high scoop and gain and low tuning.
This kinda thing separates the deathcore kids and the live musicians!
