• that was soo. stereotypetical..not all americans are like that! Oh come on!

  • I'm an american and our country is kinda boring because we don't have any visual kei influence..if u show a alice nine picture to an american who doesn't know shit the person will think that they are gays or girls. There is no respect. They like their rihanna and usher and justin bieber not gonna lie I do too. But visual kei rock is better. Well everyone has their own ideas and reactions. Of course that I'm not speaking for each american but still. Is it true

  • Haha whatever you like I guess but geez if a kid came to school dressed like that I'm telling you they'd get beaten up

  • o - o Is it pronounced Visual- Key? I thought it was Visual-Kei (Pronounced Visual-Keh)

  • nhin vkl

  • o wow this made me sad 4 america XD

  • Stop bitching haters, at least you have the opportunity to see some of the VK bands...

I find it extremely depressing that Australia has had no influence in this particular area...

Just a side note, I do believe that this article was meant to condone the industry just subtly. My experience from view is really negative, you're being presented with a very negatively-skewed point of view, if it doesn't agree with your beliefs ignore it. Love what you want regardless of what others think

    VK/OK 4EVA

  • what is 2:30 group name ?

  • wow......speaker pronounced "kei" so wrong!!!!! it's "KAY"!!!!! even the fans know how to say it!!!!

  • Ha we dint just stand there. When u went to a concert for visual kei yeah there was a group just standing but most of us were dancing and singing along. It was amazing!

  • ohaha we don't just stand. If anything is hardcore enough we go into a massive headbanging fit or mosh pit. like when i was at an avenged sevenfold concert. that was truly epic. :D

  • @airgearbleachfan i live in america and i agree that americans are full of themselves, but not all of us. i like music and culture from many countries. I think many americans just have this.. "we can blow the shit out of any other country, so we are the best" ideology.. i have the " our healthcare sucks, and our women are the most vain shallow bitches in the world" ideology.. so yeah, i want to move.. lol

  • I feel kinda offended... I'm American but I hate America and it's music.. I get ridiculed by others because I'm so un-American, and at a concert I wouldn't just stand there I'd dance my ass off! I love you Miku but that hurt :/

  • @33harajukugirl im sure he dosn't think like that about all americans, i mean im swedish and i fell that most americans think that america is the best country in the world but i don't know all americans so i can't say that you're all like that, and i also know that i hate some swedes like fjortisar XD they're like swedish bimbos

  • @33harajukugirl do you know how many people around the world would KILL to be here in America because of how great it is? if not, then i strongly suggest that when you get a chance, get out of my country.

  • @mymusic193 well... I'd suggest that you just leave me alone because you can't control me and actually... when i get out of college i actually DO plan to move out of the country but trust me... it has NOTHING to do with you... thank you... :)

  • Visual KII.... XD

  • @airgearbleachfan Such venom and fierceness! RArrrrrrr! Hiss! So precious! Keep hating, hater! You're so CUTE when you're fierce! Kisses!

  • why not denmark?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!

  • @MsSkattemus totaly!!! i want them to come to sweden more as well, and if they went to denmark i could just take a boat down there XD

  • umm helloooo...GAZETTE, ANYONE?

  • What's with L'arc~en~Ciel in the end?

  • Comment removed

  • I miss An Cafe (._.)

  • Love the ring @ 0:36 *-*

  • Yeah all is good and well except for the small fact that An Cafe is oshare kei which is different from visual kei...

  • @airgearbleachfan Hey I'm an American and love this kind of music, so don't put people into stereotypical catagories like that. Yeah, I want to live in Japan but so do alot of people and your bullshit about America is discrimination, if your going to down someone atleast leave the rest of us out.

  • Hey im an American and love this kind of music, so don't put people into stereotypical catagories like that. Yeah, I want to live in Japan but so do alot of people and your bullshit about America is discrimination, if your going to down someone atleast leave the rest of us out.

  • When you think it can't get worse than emos, this crap appears....

  • headbagnin on some an cafe... wtf?

  • 2:30 L'Arc~en~Ciel??? I thought Tetsuya stated it clearly that they are NOT visual kei >.>

Love them though...and An Cafe is love too ♥ x3

  • hahaha!!! vks dancing!!!!!>O<

  • I would que up my whole life to see An café <3 <3 <3

  • wwwwwwuuuuuuuu visual gay

    wuuuuuu achso

    sucht euch hobbys lowbobs!

  • lol at 01:42 ,the public did headbanging, but its a little soft-rock sound after xD

  • LOL Visual key XDDXDX

  • Well I don't want to sound smart or something but isen't An Cafe Oshare Kei?

    I'm very sure about that.

But I still like the vid! And An Cafe! Too bad they don't excist as a band anymore. :(

  • Wow, Miku was kinda harsh there XD "..Americans just stand around, they come because they like manga and the way we look"

Sorry Miku, but not all Americans are that way. I actually enjoy your music, would probably dance like an idiot at your concerts, and yell "NYAPPY!" every chance I got.

  • -change the title, because the visual kei was born in 1980

-visual kei is not emo, FUCKING IGNORANTS

-an cafe is a band of thousands of visual bands

-key is key, KEI is "style" in Japanese,

-the video is crap, and for all yankees... FUCK OFF

LONG LIVE VISUAL KEI AND TO JAPAN

  • Weeaboos LOL

  • ouch, miku that kinda stung x/

  • ... i thought it was pronounced like Pie but with a K...

I hate how some people think that guys who are into/dress visual kei are all gay.

    VK FOR THE WIN!!!

  • omg Miku sings horrible live.

  • ..Visual-Kei was respectable in the 90s, but now its just been seen by Europeans/Americans as Japanese Emo...when Visual-Kei has nothing at all to do with EMO.

  • @Dungarth i hate how europeans and americans steal asian styles and then they make fun of it !!! -___-

  • @Dungarth I'm insulted. I'm American and I don't see it as Japanese Emo. Never have and NEVER will.

  • Wow... That was like a slap in the face. D:<

  • I hope An Cafe comes to Canada for a tour; Canadians can show their J-rock spirit with style!!!

  • Owch, I think if they ever come to America (again, I guess), everyone who goes should be overly into it and just go nuts. XD

  • @sasorifan14 I know right?! I don't know where they went or what people came but I love moving to their music! And I love Visual Kei! I'm not gonna lie and say that I don't like anime but that's not why I like Visual Kei. Two different things! XD I love that Miku is so outspoken though!

  • I wouldn't just stand there I would jump and probably start a mosh pit like I did at another concert by falling on my friend Shawn (A total mosh pit fan who loves to make me claustrophobic) and Nathaniel

  • wow...i feel like miku just slapped me right across the face when he said that about americans xD hahaha what evs its not really true anyways

  • "Americans just stand there" Has he never seen a mosh pit?

  • @Smashspider3 LOL! I guess not! I got a broken rib once in a Metallica mosh pit. I'm leaving the Slipknot pit to the youngsters these days. But, to be fair, their American audience is probably young pre-teen and teenage girls mostly, not known for being the crazy ones at a concert.

  • @rann109 Haha damn man!

  • @Smashspider3 Of course he's never seen a mosh pit, you don't mosh at a glam pop concert! lol :)

  • @animeodyssey15 Haha agreed. :)

  • @Smashspider3 well yea but mabye that's what mostly happens for them? who knows XD

  • @IdanPink Haha yeah could be, maybe they get all those loser who don't know what to do and those emo kids who really do just stand around and do nothing. XD

  • @Smashspider3 thats probably wannabe emo's XD all emo kids i know are pretty awesome... and seriously crazy XD but all emo kids i know are also cosplayers XP

  • @IdanPink Haha yeah it could be like that too. XD

  • @Smashspider3 Mosh pits are not the same thing as what the fans of Visual Kei are like. They get into the music without trying to bash each other's heads into bloody gore.

  • @Buzzramjet He said all americans do is stand around, he is basically saying all of them do that, I was just saying that what he said is not true, is all.

  • @Smashspider3 I understand that point but mosh pits are not exactly a normal point of most concerts. I think what a lot of us who have discovered Japanese rock & Visual Kei look at how the Japanese react at concerts. I think the best crowd reactions I have seen which I still think are the standard are the live concerts of hide and his other band X Japan. Watch hide doing Misery live or Tell Me live. I love their reaction and wish that was the same sort of thing here.

  • @Buzzramjet Yeah, I know, I was just being vague and saying something. I know there's various of things you can do at a concert, and plus at conerts or shows the band put's on a show or performance that is with laser lights or like a play.

  • @Buzzramjet yeah I know that, I was just responding to what he said, I know that there are various things you can do at concert, even some times the band put's on a show with, laser lights, objects, or something like a play.

  • I think we the american people just got bashed. O_O

  • @PoisonRoze1991 Think we did to. xD

  • Mix Speakers, lol xD

    isn't it Mix Speakers' INC?

  • what is the last band he says? i cant understand him

  • Im so sad miku said that, but it's partially true

  • WTH are these guys wearing??? Anyways that dude is saying visual KEY. stupid foreigner. ahh HYDE!!!!

  • i like the way this feature was so fucked up xD

  • "manga cartoons and the way we look"? Those are japanophiles who will dry hump anything related to Japan. The fact that they're japanese alone is enough to fill one of those concerts up...

  • ;___; Why does Miku hate me? That hurts bro....I dance at ALL concerts I go to. x[

  • lololol visual key

  • If only they would come to Canada...

  • MIKU HATES ME!!!!! DDDDD:::: I'M AMERICAN AND I LOVVE THEIR MUSIC!!! I WWOULD TOTALLY DANCE TO THEIR SONGS!!!!! ;O;

  • Comment removed

  • 1 word.... nerds

  • i think i've never seen such crap before

  • I'm an American, and I guess I'm not too insulted. The people that saw them must not have liked their music very much. If I were there, I certainly wouldn't be jumping around because this really isn't my genre. Besides which, emos get a lot of shit over here (to the general public they probably look like very stylish emos). So it's likely that nobody would want to face the harassment that would come from dressing like that.

  • @animeodyssey15 lmao yet the american media seems to love "stylish" gangsters but not "stylish emos?"o.O how does that even make sense? Look at most rap singers and how stylish they try to be. I think visual kei style in terms of clothing kicks their ass. Not because I"m a visual kei obsessed fan, but alot of them can actually play their instruments, SING AND can carry a style too that isn't slutty. Alot of ppl are also racist when it comes to music too if they can't understand the language..

  • @jualkyn stylish emo??? Visual kei is not emo. just saying

  • @FallenAngeal it doesn't matter what we perceive it as. I just mean to a person that is not all too familiar with jrock at all will look at stuff like malice mizer or girugamesh and say they look pretty emo. Ppl categorize instantly within their minds. Emo as in the whole dark makeup etc, the specifics do not really matter. Either way, my point was that americans seem to like things that are only engilsh and not give other language music a chance. its lame and sad.

  • @jualkyn i agree it is lame and sad. That is exactly why i refuse and will never like the american music industry.

  • @jualkyn I don't really care for rap or gangsters, so I couldn't say. I wasn't trying to imply that visual kei style is bad, I do think they have good (albeit a little strange) style. Sure, they're not bad at playing and singing, but as I said before, this REALLY isn't my genre. It's too soft and too much pop. I've read translations of the lyrics to Japanese band's songs, and they don't make a damn bit of sense.

  • what..?visual kei has been around in japan for a long time it isnt NEW.

  • Your're so right, it's not new at ALL. I've been a fan of japanese culture years before american and european news could talk so much shit about it and choose bands like An café to represent something much profounder D: But it's the same with every youth-culture that hasn't been popular before: First, everybody wants to be part of it, everybody fights for or against stupid prejudices, and then, most of the fans find themselves 'growing up' and walk another way.... fortuantely. 8D

  • i feel sorry that An Cafe did not get a warm welcome at concerts. I am american and its sad to see people that are that LAME JUST STANDING THERE! If you love An Cafe SHOW IT!

we need to stop being stuck up i love An Cafe (>*u*)>

  • i feel sorry that an cafe did not get a warm welcome at concerts.

we need to stop being stuck up i love An Cafe (>*u*)>

  • i am mad. i feel ashamed to be american. where were all the actual VKs?!?! come on....most of these people look like cosplayers. im sure An Cafe was think "WTF" when they saw this...i would

  • @GlassCagedBat yes..when i saw those people i was like... ... FAIIL!!

    poor an cafe <3 :(

  • They way this guy says Visual Kei annoys the shit out of me and its a shame that Miku would say that about Americans. Not all Americans and crazy anime fans whom only go to their concerts for their appearance. Their music makes me want to jump and dance around and I AM AN AMERICAN. I am dissapoint!

  • @ScubaTashie

Geez.. You're an American with some serious spelling problems.. I'm from Portugal and I'm surprised with the fact that I can write English better than you!.. :O

  • @TheMacyp Spell check lied to me. :D

  • @jadasmiles: juu would anderständ it olmoust perfektli. Same in proper English: I can read this very well and if someone reads this out in Finland you would understand it almost perfectly. ps. sorry if I had some bad English, I'm Finnish as I said xD

  • @jadasmiles: actually it is very close to KEY, but also very close to KAY. I think that if you talked to a Japanese man/woman he/she would understand both pronounciations. And because I'm Finnish I actually do pronounce Japanese correctly. In both languages you write like you pronounce. Here's an example of how someone in Finland (someone who obiviously doesn't know anything about English) would write your pronounciation: Ai kän riid this veri vell änd if samvan riids this aut laud inf finland

  • They say that people who live in america don't dance to there music. Are you kidding me? I was on a train going home and I had a song by An Cafe on on my ipod and I played it. I started dancing I only realized I was dancing when everyone was staring at me. Felt a little confused, then I was like OH....! A little 1... 2... 3.... now I get it. So theres wrong because I do dance to there music! (From Canada)

  • hablan como wnes XD

  • Gays... except Gackt, X japan, Loudness, T-Bolan, every japanese band are gays... The Visual Kei is ugly

  • @Kakica1 Omg I love Gackt lol. But the style of Visual Kei is very feminine but I wouldn't classify it as gay. Unless you're a dude. then you'd probably say its gay.

  • 1:49 ... zero singing talent

  • OMG, where r the samurais, where r the ninjas O_O

    These are so feminine >.<

  • I know how much these fans love their musicians and want to imitate them...but some of these guys look like they just put roadkill on their head :|

  • the guy at 0:59 destroyied hair^^

  • Mix Speaker's Inc RLZ!!!!!

  • ugh if An Cafe came to Arizona I wouldn't have been just standing around. >> i love how the translators have no idea how to say half the things they talk about.

  • I wish I still lived in France >.>

    Come America!!!

    Teenagers like you in America!!!!!!!

  • Man, I'd give anything to look a little more effeminate myself. Well not as effeminate as Visual/Oshare Kei but I'd love looking a little girly myself. I remember that once I had a sort of effeminate hair, kinda like longer side bangs and my back hair was short. Too bad my hair stays cool only after I wash it when it's kinda longer and I also didn't look good because of the god damned acnee and I was a little fat back then but I lost weight.

  • An Cafe is more of Jrock / Oshare...

  • @ForestBalrog jup

  • OH AND HERE are some basic knowledge! :D

Visual and Oshare Kei is a style not a genre. because if it was a genre practically all of their music would sound similar. (Just saying because some people call it a genre and that irks me XD)

  • wtf l'arc en ciel is not visual kei!!!

  • @marishkaspirit Your right but l'arc en ciel helped inspire it... But yeah I hate when people get things wrong too. Thanks for setting that straight though.

  • Not exactly Hana Yori Dango, are they?!

  • "visual kei" ... is that japanese for 'ugly with a desperate need for attention'?

  • @slh950 no its not!

  • This video gives a wrong picture about An Cafe and Visual Kei/Oshare Kei!

  • @Kanon587 I agree it looks more like they're making fun of it really and again with thrashing Americans seriously so freaking cliche everyone hates us yeah we know. >.< But yeah It doesn't even cover what visual kei is but what it appears to be...

  • @DefyingDeviance Yeah, ur right. D: I mean the people in this vid doesnt look Visual Kei or Oshare Kei. Then they are showing their clothes what really bugs me. D: It doesnt match An Cafe. And it really does look that they are making fun of it. ._.

  • @Kanon587

Yeah, those people looked like they were TRYING to dress like antic cafe and failing miserably :L They just looks stupid, that guys hair was NOTHING like Visual Kei, He looked like he was going to see an american rock band, not a japanese one. It makes me wonder if any of them have ever actually SEEN An cafe's style :l

  • @Alexninja250 Yeah, i agree! D: And the hair was ugly. D:

  • @Alexninja250 ACTUALLY Theres a visual kei band with that hair style so they must of gotten the idea from them.

  • @Alexninja250 I agree, you took the words right out of my mouth D:

  • ewww. visual kei, does not match these ppl...

  • @HoBLifyX Haha yeah it looks like they need some serious help with their style but then again atleast they're trying I guess.

  • its pronounced visual KAY not visual KEY

  • @jadasmiles let the french be french dude lol

  • @jadasmiles technically its pronounced visual keh-ee

But mostly pronounced kay because people don't want to strain on the ee part.

  • Comment removed

  • @Pbuddhafull ki is pronounced kee.

  • @jadasmiles

Everytime he said KEY I died a little inside. haha

  • @kanadaze me too... =___=""

  • @jadasmiles HAHA I thought that was it too but...actually I just found out you're both wrong lmao I went to Google Translate and when you translate it to Visual Kei in Jap it's kind of different...but Kay is more to the correct side. although it's different. xD

  • @jadasmiles Your right ! To many people pronounce it like that!! Its "vijual ka-i"

  • @jadasmiles kay as in okay & key as in house key

  • Wow. The reporter didn't do his homework. Oshare Kei =/= Visual Kei

Secondly, what that Miku guy said was uncalled for. If they only have played at Anime conventions, they should know that the audience (most of the time) can't do anything too crazy. They have strict guidelines for the crowd ((i.e. no jumping up & down)).

  • kanon sama ♥

1:03 "its all about shocking people"

WTF? it`s NOT all about shocking people dude D< !!!!!

  • hey im american come over here An café ill show you how i do it at a show (ie windmill, hadband etc)

  • I went to japan before i barely saw ay vk.. :\

  • All I know is that......french is a sexxy language. <3

  • LMFAO Visual "KEY" Its "Keh-i"

  • @KaienSano like Keh- ee?, Keh-ih? or Keh- eye? thnx! :)

  • i wouldnt go so far as to say all americans stand there and watch, and many truly appriciate the music, but theres some bands, that are just so awesome, i couldnt move if i wanted to

  • They didnt mention the gazzete.. whats up wiff dat.. The Gazzete Rulezz

  • OMG An Cafe is oshare kei moron

  • O_O ANTIC CAFE~! ♥

  • new japanese trend? lol no its not new its been around for a longggg time xD

  • "American fans just stand there..." Well, boys, maybe that's because about all you've played here are a handful of anime cons on the west coast. Play some real shows at some real venues (I highly recommend Texas and New York) and you'll see the real deal. :)

  • @KaorusHYDRA

They do come to Austin City Limits. Not them specificlleh, but visual does. At A-kon people "don't just stand there."

  • Dig this if you judge that "americans" just stand there you're wrong. Unlike your own people you don't even cheer. yes your people just Stand there.

  • i went An Cafe show in the US and there was lots of dancing at the show...Miku's comments are kind of mean, but when all you see in the US is Anime cons its not surprising to have those views

But like lots have said An Cafe is not visual kei, and L'Arc-en-Ciel is in no way visual kei they are just straight up Jpop...

  • Wow. Really? I go to just about every Japanese rock show to support the bands, and I feel slightly insulted at Miku's comment that Americans just stand around and we just like manga and anime. I don't like manga and anime, and I spend a lot of money and buy merchendise just to support a band that comes to the states, even if I don't enjoy pop-style Japanese rock. I guess my money is better spent on bands that appreciate that...

  • I can't believed he judged everyone like that

  • L'arc was never visual kei and An Cafe was Oshare Kei

  • larc en ciel is not vk anymore and antic cafe is oshare!

  • Miku :'( come to baltimore and we wont just stand around

  • Visual Kei is not pronounsed visual kee its pronounsed visual kay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • those people look like retards, visual kei is awesome and an cafe but, those people are shit..thumbs up!!! :p

  • "americans just stand there, they only like manga and the way we look"

ouch, blow to the heart. Thats not true.

  • @DisappearingBunny No it's not, I've loved the lyrics and what they had to say

  • lol Americans just stand there they come because they like manga cartoons and they just stand there sooo fucking funny

  • Considering An Cafe has ONLY played Anime Cons in the U.S., of course they're going to get a bunch of anime cosplayers who have never heard their music before. @_@ If they had a show away from a con they might get even more results from Americans then they ever would Europeans. I am disappointed in the Americans that gave them this impression.

  • @lunitique how can you be disappointed at the fans AT anime cons when it's An Cafe who is doing the lives AT the cons?

  • @prink Of course my point was that I wish they would book a show NOT at a con. I'm not disappointed at the fans at anime cons! Just the majority of the people at the show probably were not too sure of who they were. If the show was away from a con actual fans would buy tickets, not people who purchased passes at a con. And I know I sure as hell would show them how crazy American fans can be at a show.
