@vussnguyen Most of the tower is built around a simple piston and pressure plate assembly shown at 3m18. These are lined up in a long row, then a second row is built facing the first. This pair of rows is then repeated horizontally to form a floor. Multiple floors are then stacked on one another. The grinder part is a bit more complicated, being a combination of gravity trap (fences with water over them) and lava blade. Schematic for the MK2 tower is available (see description).
@abcskunk Schematic will probably follow soon, though it'll be for the v2 tower rather than this one. This tower suffers a problem where blocks can occasionally get detached from their associated piston head. This block then stops mobs spawning in that location and bars access to the pressure plate. The v2 tower solves this by allowing the player to extend and retract all of the pistons with a lever, in an effort to pull any detached blocks back. I'll sort it out soon :)
@abcskunk I'm having to make a few changes as redstone no longer sits on glowstone. The design is pretty easy to extend in it's current form. Theoretically you could make is much shorter, and have the spawner cover a much larger area. This would give much much higher item/hour yield. I'll probably upload the tower schematic (once it's fixed) as-is in the short term. I might make a modular version later so that folks can make this tower as large or small as they like. (more to follow)
@abcskunk (continuing from previous comment). I should mention that the schematic on it's own won't give you the same high item/hour rate as seen in the video. You need to light up the area around the tower(s) both above and below ground to make sure that darkness loving mobs can only spawn in the tower. You may also find you need to take steps against slimes and farm animals too (I haven't yet). The water at the base stops endermen teleporting out . The wall around the hole is important too.
@MrSammy543 I didn't. Up until you mentioned it I hadn't heard of Go Animate. After a quick look at some Go Animate vids on You Tube, I'm guessing you're refering to the narration. As mentioned in the video description, this videos voice over was performed by Ivona 2 TTS Amy (registered).
@GTLx16 Glad you like it. The mk2 tower is a bit more robust, with its piston recovery system. This solves the problem of blocks occasionally becoming detached from the piston head - basically by allowing you to extend and retract all of the towers 6,900-ish pistons via one located lever :)
@GTLx16 Frame rates do lower for a few seconds while the pistons switch state, but bounces back up a few short seconds later. The game remains playable throughout. I do have a pretty good PC though. That said, I think the inherent delay of redstone helps spread the load a bit. I.E. The signal ripples up the tower and along each floors 5 signal lines, rather than hitting all of the pistons simultaneously :)
After 200 meters. Turn Right :)

@Mythtri You don't get lag from almost 7000 pistons moving almost all at once?
