@djunior2011 @ the 8:40 mark look @ the Drum Major in the 4th row one of the band members moves too early causing his rhythm to be thrown off causing him to attempt to pickup his Mace too early. He didn't drop his Mace he laid it down like the other 5 DM's did he just attempted to pick his back up too early. But like I said the other band member moving too early caused that......

No actually he went to pick his mace or is it called baton up before the other drum majors picked up theirs. That early mistake by another band member threw his rhythm off. The majors laid them down at the same time the pick up was where the mishap was.

Looks to me like he didn't drop it. Regardless, hazing him was not the right thing to do. As a Drum Major, we give ourselves consequences for when we make mistakes. If I were ever to drop my mace, I would have severe consequence for myself. Knowing what really happened, I'm ashamed of the 100 and can say I am no longer considering it as a potential university for me to attend, and I will keep my band away from it's camp this coming summer. RIP Mr. Champion.

This is an energetic band that has an extreme brass sound, but the drill precision needs serious work. There were gaps so big that I couldn't tell if they just space terribly, or if someone was missing. btw, I'm a member of the Wisconsin Marching Band. On, Wisconsin! Beat Michigan State!

It's a CRIME shame that someone would haze anyone. It's stupid and senseless.. and for all of you are a part of the MARCHING dummies and aren't speaking up.. Your day will come.. @Ms2011Layde Hazing is a "people" problem - the military, sports, fraternal groups, school bullies, gangs and yes, bands. Unless you were recently appointed God's mouthpiece, don't assume how God feels about FAMU. Judge not! The band is not "FAMU." It is a part of the whole. I AM FAMU with thousands of students, employees and alumni. Parents must teach their children not to put themselves in situations that threatens their well-being and to eradicate the "culture of silence."

@Ms2011Layde before you go off on people and jump to conclusions like most of america has just know that at the begging of each year our band director Dr. White has a non hazing seminar.everyone in the band is required to sign this document saying they will not participate in any hazing activities, anyone who breaks this rule is subject to arrest, and that goes for the hazer and hazee. its sad that mr.champion died but he disrespected the very person who fought to get rid of hazing, Dr. White

RIP to the DM that passed. I love both bands equally but FAMU took the halftime again this year. BCU still sounds incredibly good, but their halftimes haven't been the best as I've seen from them the past 2 years. I look at the florida classic from 98 and how BCC (at the time) acted a fool on the field. I think whats missing is the creativeness the kids had in the band back then. Anyway, FAMU put on a good show as well as BCU, but FAMU was entertaining from start to finish. Props to bothbands.

Its just sad that the actions of some assholes have literally brought down one of the best programs in the country. Dr. White is now officially fired. And this band will probably only be a shell of what is was. This is senseless and needs to stop.
