  • Scintillating, scrumptious, delicious, feminine and kick ass!

  • Man, I wish I could dance like her! Anne Miller is just beastly, and Miss Katherine Grayson? She's is the Queen of facial expressions - the comic relief to this scene!

  • I like the stage show much better then the movie, the movie cut too much, three whole production numbers! Too Darn Hot was meant to be Taming of the Shrew's intermission, it wasn't supposed to be an audition/preshow peice. That was what Another Openin, Another Show was for.

But still, Ann Miller is wonderful.

  • Ah, yes, the art of the fan!

I wish they'd shown her feet during that last bit, but I guess the allure is her face at that point, we've seen what her feet can do.

  • sup' with..like have supper and/or dinner

  • Is she saying "I'd like to suck with my baby tonight?".....scandalous!

  • isn't it 'sup'?

  • they don't make stuff like this anymore. pure magic.

  • Simply Fabulous.

  • I love 2:23 - 2:26 and 3:05 - 3:15 hehe too cute

  • Ann Miller is all that and a bag of SASSY!!! she's amazing!

  • Ann Miller is a true American Classic. This lady can tap faster than a machine gun. This is one of my favorite numbers of hers, which in one of her later interviews said that "Kiss Me Kate" was her favorite movie of all-time. This was when Hollywood had a ton of talent.

  • "TOO DARN HOT" Ann Miller! Thanks!!!

  • Gosh, she is amazing! My mother used to receive compliments when she was a dancer than she was a teenage Ann Miller, so she HAD to be good! Sadly, this was long enough ago that I haven't seen any of it. Oh well.

Both of those wonderful ladies have inspired me to dance. :)

  • Wonderful scene, thanks for sharing!

  • Flawless. What a presence! Stuff like this makes my heart sing. I hope there's an afterlife, so that Ann Miller can be in a place where she just keeps tappin' away!

  • back then, you had to sing, dance, act, and have a personality. they had stage, radio, film and television to contend with. no celebrity these days can hold a candle to any celebrity from the 30's to the 60's. i say the 60's, because thats when tv took over and people stopped going to the theater, and movies and listened less to radio. i'm older and remember enjoying all those mediums. now, its only about looks. no talent involved, just packaging. its sad

  • Oh whoah. Ann Miller is intense. I can't believe how good she is. Just think about all the time she put in to practice that.

  • I just watched this movie, and this song got stuck in my head. I loved it! Especially at 1:18 - 1:21. That, and I love tap numbers where they go crazy! It makes me wanna start dancing too! haha

  • people still have that talent, there just isn't the demand for it in the main stream. Musical films are barely made anymore, and when they are, they are cast with actors and actresses whose name is widely recognised, rather than the trained, specialist skills that the likes of Ann Miller, Bob Fosse, Russ Tamblyn, Fred Astaire... it's a shame really.

  • I agree.

  • agreed altho rent had the majority of its obc which was great it was so great seeing idina on stage!

  • Oh, Ann Miller. Phenomenal. I love her.

That's what I call talent. Why doesn't anyone these days have that?

  • there is talent around these days... you just have to have a bloody good hard look!!!

  • Another amazing actress i aspired to as a kid! love this film xxx

  • Ann Miller at her best!!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • wow

  • Wow, lookatthemlegs! Sensational vid. Thanks!

  • FUCKIN AMAZIN MAN

  • She was about the most desirable and vivacious creature ever to appear on the screen, and yet, as far as I can remember, she was never the star. Perhaps her producers thought that that would be too intense an experience for male cinemagoers!

  • I'm a girl, but I think I can tell what you mean. Especially 2:55 - 3:17. That was probably a little intense for the guys, especially since it was originally in 3D! haha

  • This is one of my favorite scenes that Ann Miller does when she dances. That and when she's doing the dances on the actual show Kiss Me Kate. The part where she is wearing the medival clothes and she's wooing the guys.

  • Those gorgeous legs don't make any sense!!

  • wow that was sexy towards the end. Classic Hollywood is the best!

  • Take a good look at that people. .now that is what I call SEXY!! I mean seriously, and not only is she beautiful. .she's talented. .she can sing, she can actually dance and she can act. Nothing like old Hollywood talent. Some of the actors and actresses these days need to take some notes. . .*sigh* this is so amazing!

  • She is an amazing dancer, I wish I could move like that!

  • She really is one of the best tap dancers ever. Being a dancer myself I can't even comprehend how fast she taps.

  • Yeah, she is good! But do you know who I think is really good? That woman from White Christmas. It's crazy how she moves!!

  • I love the remarks made by the -cool cats- .

  • She was perfect. And unfortunately so highly underrated.

  • Haha, I love Katherine Grayson's face when she catches the bracelet and passes it to Howard Keel!

  • I love her legs!

  • Thank you for posting, but if possible please post a higher quality version of it...barely able to see it. Thank you.

  • someone needs to put the high quality option up because this is blurry.

  • it's funny that he says: go girl, go...

    she is already there! :)

  • does anybody know how long her legs were

  • There is something undeniably sexy about her which I think movie stars these days just don't have! I love her :D

  • It's called restraint!

  • its called sex appeal

  • Ann Miller... is ...

    Too darn HOOOooooTTt!

  • Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for posting.

  • This is amazing! as well as this being amazing it is also a record breaker, Ann Miller holds the world record for the fatest ever recorded tap sequence on film in this very clip!

  • She is AMAZING! Where are the talented people like this for our generation?

  • I don't know. She had it all - beauty, dance skills, a beautiful broadway voice, and the ability to act.

Now you tell me if Paris Hilton can dance like this, hmm? She can't!

  • Paris Hilton has absolutely NO talent to begin with! lol!

The triple threats can be found on the Broadway stage, like Sutton Foster, but movie producers don't seem to favor them.

  • They exist, but the old MGM that gave them an international stage to play on no longer does. Check out YouTube...there are some good young tappers out there.

  • I felt like doing a back flip with a double twist!! Who could come close to this now!! Ann Miller, One of a kind!!

  • That lady was awesome and talented. They just dont make movies like they used too, where talent was required.

  • i'm so glad someone finally put this up. i love her!

  • Oh. My. Goodness.

    She is WONDERFUL!

  • Ann Miller was one of the best damn hoofers in the grand era of musicals. I grew up watching her movies and still get a kick out of watching her hoof and spin.

  • ANN MILLER was bloody class with a rip-away skirt and a pair of tap shoes!

  • damn she's good and she's so charismatic. I've seen her on interviews and she seemed like a cool lady. I love all the MGM musical stars, song and dance men like Astaire and Kelly. Cyd Charrisse for ballet, Judy Garland for singing/acting and Ann Miller for tapping. I'm in my 20's and I will watch these old musicals because there is a spirit and talent in them we don't see in the films made today.

  • My family and I loved Ann Miller too!!! The woman was a DIVA in tap!!!! I watched TCM cable & Easter Parade earlier today and on a whim, researched Ann Miller w/in Google..read some websites and discovered this site in YouTube! Thanks! Just so you all can enjoy her, the commercial she did in 1970 was for Great American Soup & can be seen w/Google using Ann's name & Great American Soup. My brother & I still sing it! People, even in an ad, ANN was totally in charge! Enjoy!!!

  • Marvelous woman! Among the best memories of the marvelous fifties!!

  • My grandfather knew Ann Miller in High School, before she left to do show business.

  • I dont think she went to highschool....

She started making movies aged 13....(they thought she was 18....

  • My grandfather said she left when she was about 14. Back then Seniors in high school were 16 years old. She left halfway during her Sophmore year. She was young for her class. Also, he has school newspapers that have articles about Ann Miller left for Hollywood. It's pretty interesting. Oh, if your wondering, she went to San Jacinto High, in Houston Texas.

  • Love how the men adore her, and you can just see the dislike in the woman's eyes. Always love this number.

  • She was too darn hot! I wish I was as lucky as Howard Hughes and bedded her on several occasions...

  • Never get tired of that. What a perfect title.

  • I love the dancing on the furniture. It's just like a lot of the male black tap dancers of the time - the Nicholas Brothers, Tip, Tap & Toe, the Berry Brothers. This is great, great stuff. She had great footwork, and again, what a great spotter she was! Thanks.

  • Your right about the Nicholas Brothers. I remember they did a bit in one movie on a table and you would swear one or the other was going to go right off the edge and get killed but man they had such great talent and skill. Ann Miller was such a class act (unlike todays hollywood sluts) and she had so much talent....and legs that went on, and on and on...

  • She's too darn HOT!! Always think of this number when Ann Miller's name comes up...WOW!

  • Man if I could dance like her...

  • 1:49...lmao!

  • she's a fuckin firecracker ! lmao

  • Wonderful! She sizzles! Thanks for uploading this. Great to see it again.

  • FANTASTIC!!! I Really Love Ann Miller and especially this song!!

  • This fantastic clip epitomises this golden era. What a number, loved the band, who's the hot guitarist?

  • Ann Miller was rated as Number Two dancer(next to Eleanor Powell), but nobody beat Ann Miller for her great looks and vocal presence, and her legs were the BEST. Of course, let's remember, too, Cyd Charisse....is it a coincidence that both great gals were born in Texas???

  • That is quite a coincidence. And folks say nothing good ever comes out of Texas!

  • well ive never seen kiss me kate but i would love to see it. Tommy rall is a great dancer and i heard he was on it. so i hope to see it in the future! :)

  • Around 2:30 it sounds a little like her number Prehistoric Man in On the Town. Ann Miller is talent at it's best, check out how much control she has over her body at the end, who can walk and tap that smooth. GO ANN.

  • Sorry, I mean "Shaking the Blues Away" in Easter Parade.

  • great to see this again. i adore her, i'm a choreographer and we shot an ad for rose's lime juice in about 1986 together. she was great fun... i was clearly a devoted fan and she very sweetly indulged me by teaching me steps from my favourite numbers etc. A remarkable lady and,as a dancer, greatly underrated. Mc

  • It's about 2,000 degrees in LA today,, and I was sending this to some friends when I ran across your story,,, gggreeat!!!!

  • this is one of my favorite numbers from her. and of course her on the town number was the first i ever saw. i love her dress in that one. shes amazing, i only wish i could tap like(in my dreams, i know)

  • she is the shit!!! her tap is amazing and too damn hot!! R.I.P. Ann Miller!!!!

  • rip ann miller !!!!!!!!

  • AM had no equal when it came to Broadway dancing like this! Amazing talented and disciplined she owned the fastest legs ever to walk or dance on a wodden floor!! What a competitor and always GRACEFUL!

  • I was privileged to cover for Miss Miller's quick-change dresser in the wings during the late 1980's West End production of 'Sugarbabes'. At her and her doctor's request we had an oxygen cylinder and mask available. Any comment about her age was taboo.

She tapped 92 triple time-steps a minute on a good night, and 90 on a bad night.

    The greatest showgirl ever.

  • Her and Juy garland are like my idols !!!!

    What and amazing talent

  • Same here

  • same here :P

  • same here. And her and Judy were both in Easter Parade where Ann had an awesome tap dance number.

  • This women was sex on tap, just look at what she's wearing for christ sake! men must have went crazy for this woman, she was a far sexier than any other tapper of her era.

  • im 23.. and ive been watching musicals like these since i was 10.. its a shame that they dont make movies like this anymore.. and that my generation doesnt know what real talent is.

thanks for posting this.. hopefully more people will get turned on to anne miller or any other actor of the golden screen!

  • Wow!!! I'm half a century older (73) That means I was at the premiere of this film and of many others right in the heart of the musical era - Just imagin all the marvellous films I have enjoyed as a teenager!!!! (and that I am rediscovering now with channel TV and you tube!!!!)

  • Beautiful!

    Thanks for posting a classic.

    Gear Shifter

  • wao!!!!!!!!!!!! FIERCE!!

  • truly Amazing Mezmarizing Keepin it sexy alluring without being skanky.Hey R&B chics take a tip from her and not the dancers that work the pole!!

  • just incredible!!

    she is so talented!

  • Class....total class.

  • the most under rated dancer of her era.

  • I agree with re 6356. Ellie and Annie were the best.

  • Like Ann best in the movie, You can't take it with You.

  • I just love this song. I think that Ann Miller's voice suits it very well.

My favourtie song in Kiss Me Kate

  • God... I miss the musical era. I love those old movies. Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing.

  • Soo awesome!!! Its a shame that contemporary society doesnt make art like that

  • I simply adore that woman. She was pure joy and happiness when she danced. Whenever I'm in a bad mood, all I have to do is watch Ann Miller doing a musical number and I'm in a good mood again. And she became a brassy old broad in her later years. She was the greatest. Love you, Ann!

  • i like her version of "always true to you." do you have it on youtube? thanks!

  • Nope...I havent uploaded it here....but i think someone else did......

  • Her and Eleanor Powell were the tops, I think Eleanor was a bit smoother plus she had great ballet moves. Never saw Ann display any ballet material but, like I said, they were the BEST.

  • Whoa! Ann was the best. Now I've got to cool off.

  • This has to be my favourite song in "Kiss Me Kate".

  • very nice tap dancing!!!!! I want her gloves!

  • Giving this number to Ann Miller in the movie was a good choice. This perfectly showcases Miller's singing and dancing talent and suits her ditzy, kooky portrayal of Lois Lane/ Bianca.

  • Wow.

  • I first saw this musical in 1953 - in 3D. What a treat and what a cast!! Ann Miller was absolutely fantastic. No one will ever match this performance. Another dance number from that really made an impression - "From This Moment On". WOW describes it well.

  • if you look at 3.03 the pic on the right its howard keel in show boat

    how cool

  • Hubba hubba! Ann was one nifty number!!

  • Ann Miller was a very amazing lady, and so much fun too! I really miss her dearly, but she will always live on in the movies she made! This is one of my favorite dance scenes from "Kiss Me Kate."

  • one of my fav clips from my one of my fav musicals cheers mate

  • great.........i did lead in stock, new hampshire...steven schwartz was our music director........jack english, actor/singer/bev hills, calif....

  • Omg! How can she dance in those heals that fast! I can hardly walk in heals that high :p

  • Ive only just discovered Ann Miller is she still alive? I hope so. I think Im gonna buy all her movies she's a fantastic performer!

  • ann miller died in 2004 unfortunately. Howard Keel died in 2004 too. kathryn grayson is the only one still alive.

  • OH no. I feel like I missed a legend.

    Thanks for your reply :)

  • Ann Miller was amazing. I remember seeing this as a kid and being amazed and now -- some 20 years later -- it still blows me away. Everything from about 2:30 on was just stunning.

  • Ann Miller was one of the greatest dancers there ever was.....

  • she sure can tap really well. pretty amazing.

  • Amazing!

    xx

  • hey, i am so glad you put this on, do you think you could put on "always true to you darlin in my fashion"

  • Ah - I see that they changed the line "According to the Kinsey report" to "the latest report"

  • nice

  • I saw this in Polarized 3D I.B. Technicolor Print - It was UN-BELIEVABLE!!!

It was the greatest film experience of all.

  • I wish the video quality was better. :c( But my favorite routine ever.

  • The reel projector must have been on an ice block, because Ms. Miller is sure one hot lady!

  • well that was awesomely phenomenal dude

  • Another young adult fan of Ann here. She was truly a marvel. Thank you for putting this up for others to see it.

  • i love how all of a sudden, the coffee table is just THERE haha. love ann though, amazing tapping, not my fave here though, but her characterization is amazing.

  • YAY! one my favorite movies! I remember watching this with my dad when i was little and i'd tap dance along to it while my dad pretended to ply one of the musicians! *sigh* good times! ^_^

  • you can so tell shes not actually tapping here, the sound wouldnt be constant on different surfaces like it is

  • Of course she's really tapping. But, in the old musicals, the dancers almost ALWAYS went into the foley studio during post-production and redubbed the tap sounds because it was nearly impossible to capture the sound well in the studio. Kelly and Astaire did it regularly, and Miller was no different. That doesn't mean she's not really tapping on camera.

  • There hasn't been as beautiful and multi-talented dancer since Ann. Seductive and glamour seemed to inspire her incredible movements as she tapped her way around this opening scene and into our hearts. Cheers, for Ann and this wonderful number she left for us to enjoy.

  • great job!

  • I always loved that number. Thank God my mom raised me on old movies.

  • i really felt bad for everyone else in this movie, b/c this is the first number, and the whole rest of the movie just never gets close, except for 'from this moment on'. she is just the best thing that ever happened to a tap number

  • Tap tap clack clack awasome.

  • What a hoofer! Ann was terrific and thank you so much for uploading all of these clips!

  • Love her, I grew up on all her movies.

  • My 1st Annie Miller film!!! Oh my GOSH!!! I was totally bug eyed when I watched this! after that I went back to this same seen about 7 times just to watch this!!!

  • hehehe...same here.....Ive seen it hundreds of times and i still get goosebumps when shes on that table and that band starts to build up......gosh i get goosebumps even thinkin of it.....

  • Thanks for posting all these great vids of Ann. I think they're all classics. Our kids today should see these if they really have a passion for tap!!!

  • It's a pleasure......Im gonna upload two more numbers....the sexy 'I'll be hard to handle' and the funny 'It's Dynamite' tapnumbers soon....

  • Great video! Good Job!!

  • It's about time!

  • lol spectacular

  • fabulous!!!!!!!!!!
