  • What a horrible theme. I can't imagine how anyone could seriously want this to be the official theme for the series. Incredibly lame!

  • NEEDS TO BE MORE EPIC!!!

  • Can Rand please balefire this song?

  • @joeydifranco0422 it was written in the eighties you know, and if he used balefire on this, he would create a dimensiol clausication which would have a 37.891325 percent chance of destroying our world (but, a 9.27213 percent chance of our world being merged with his, which would be nice, because who needs an education when you've got the one power and Ash'aman training)

  • very 80's ish lol but I like it

  • If you re-wrote the lyrics for "The Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin, it would fit well. I always think of WoT and LOTR when I hear it.

  • It's a good song, but The Wheel of Time universe definitely needs something more LotRish, specifically like the Shire music representing Emond's Field. It's main theme should be a pretty "happy" song.

  • @Nannerz12 What's LotR?

  • @Newvegasboy Letters of the Rain

  • @Newvegasboy i believe it means Lord Of The Rings, not Letters of the Rain.

  • @Salvationman51 Haha, it was a joke, and yes, you're right.

  • Fitting for the credits but not, I think, in the movie.

You can't really have words about what is happening in the movie in the song, ex. Gunfight at the OK corral.

  • Huh, not really what I was expecting for a theme to the Wheel of Time. I was expecting more wind instruments and less folk rhythm, something to go along with the introductions from the books involving the wind to start A Begining. Still, I think the line: "The world is gone but the legend lives on" encapsulates what's to come well enough.

  • starts with folk and ends with metal solo-i just jizzed in my pants!

  • i'm sorry but the WOT only has room for hard core heavy metal rock!!!!!

  • Do you have the lyric of this song?

  • There's no end, Wheel of Time.

  • i think the soundtrack would be better without lyrics. and if there wa lyrics, it should be sang by the tolkien ensemble.

  • i love this series with a deep passion!!!!

  • This CD was terrible.

  • This song and the full soundtrack are really good, but I'm not so sure if they are epic enough for such a masterpiece! They need that LotRish feeling in them!

I love this song, but it's too plain for Wheel of Time! We need some strings and trompets for the theme song!

  • @HermioneTurner why do you feel wheel of time needs a "lord of the rings feeling"

because if your meaning the songs from the LoTR movies then you will have to wait until they release wheel of time movies (rumored for this coming summer)

  • @marchak no, I meant that epic sound, that sound of greatness and adventure which is mostly represented by the LotR OST!

  • @Duynsathe

Check out Blind Guardian (they have songs based on the Wheel of Time (Ride into Obsession and Wheel of Time)) and Epica, who are far more influenced by classical music and are far better at composing it.

  • Look for "Rhapsody of Fire" on youtube, they're a symphonic fantasy metal band who would be infinitely better. Their songwriter (not the singer) is one of the most talented musicians in Europe right now, and their music is heavily influenced by epic classical music.

  • @Duynsathe that must be the worst advice ever! ;) I checked it out, but it's not quite my cup of tea....and about being the most talented in europe etc......ummm, I think not. But if you enjoy it, that's good

  • It was good as far as I can say, but given the music described alot in the books, I kinda expected to hear a harp and flute playing large parts.

  • DId Steeley Dan write this?

  • the song gets better, every time you listen to it.

the first time it truly and deeply sucked. because of the lacking in epicness.

but after listening to it for a few times you get to enjoy the simplicity.

but one question why was this soundtrack made? I mean there is no movie yet or anything

  • HEY , HERE'S HOW TO GET THE SONG:

    1. Get Download Helper (or some other progr. that does the same)

    2. Download this video and convert it to .wmv

    3. Download AoA Audio Extractor

    4. Extract the audio from the .wmv file in .mp3 format

    5. You're done !

Give me thums up so other people will see this :)

Tip: Use Audacity and cut the begining and the end a bit.

  • I was expecting something much more....epic?

  • The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.

  • This could be used in the trailer if they ever make a movie, but it wouldn't fit in the actual movie.

  • Can't wait till Blind GUardian makes their song for this series

  • Have they said they're writing one? I'm not really a huge fan, but I'd give that a listen were it true.

  • Yeah, on their next album one of the songs is called "The Wheel of Time" and it's about this this

  • If people wonder; the general tech of the world seems to be around the 1400-1600s. Obviously, any such comparison will be flawed, but I'm basing this on mostly the armour, architecture and fashion of the Westlands. (the existance of breeches, most people have glass in their windows, clocks exist but gunpowder is mostly secret and used only for entertainment, etc.)

So classical western instruments with some asian elements (the westlands seems asian as well as european in culture.)

  • to the person who posted "Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem" to sing one of these songs...are you on crack? Those would be the worst artists to represent these novels, you'd have an uprising those artists don't represent what WOT is about at all!

  • Comment removed

  • @starlitrhapsody7

what about hammerfall listen to the song destined for glory...i personally think it wouldnt be a bad chose

and yes Kanya west or any rap artist in general would be a horable chose

  • @s1onal I love that song. I listen to it every day :D

  • Song seems really silly to be called the theme song for the series. Totally doesnt fit

  • Comment removed

  • Well, yeah I agree that this music may sound a tad bit silly, but remember that it's set in a medeval-isch world... that's not a world I would envision that metal/heavy metal etc fits in (though I still love that type of music)

This music fits better. it's got the right "spirit"

  • this is true

  • I really like it too :) I could listen to this every day... I don't know, I actually think it inspires me :)

  • Lil Wayne? Seriously? Try Rush, Queensryche, Tool and 30 Seconds to Mars

  • Comment removed

  • @mawtin0 not at all we dont need rock bands singing this. im a fan of 2 of the bands you mentioned but honestly we need a folk singer it would fit better

  • @EvandaGreek I can see Willie nelson singing one of these songs.

  • The Creator is gone, all hail the King.

  • :-P yea, the Wheel weaves as the wheel wills... but i still hope for a (NICE) movie (just because...euhm... i would like it, but it musn't be crap)

i really hope the books after 11 are just as good as the other ones (its going to be split in three, if i'm not mistaken)

  • The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, but I hope for an epic 12th book. R.I.P. Robert Jordan and thanks for creating such a wonderful world.

  • I mean the book when Rand are fighting in Tarmon Gai'don. There are 2 books in the prologue who hasn´t been written yet.

  • God these books are good.

FFS I need to finish this series.

  • fantastic

  • I love the series!!!

  • I think it´s realy good beacus there is a place in the serie where Rand have a dream and see what lews therin remember from the age of legends ( sorry for my spelling ) ( and the bit in the Aile city when rand see the life´s of his ancesors ( in the age of legends partly )

  • except that George R R MArtin is a fuckin fag who takes five years to write a fucking book. and he pissed me off with the way he excluded hella characters in a feast of crows. like Martin, check out joe abercrombie, and scott lynch (lies of locke Lamora, awesome fucking book.)

  • At least he actually did a good job with the characterizations of the characters he wrote about in AFfC. Can't say the same about anything Jordan's done. Plus he'll be including the rest in the next book, whenever it comes out. There are huge delays, sure, but it's not as if there's nothing else to do during the wait.

Thanks for the recommendations, though, I'll be sure to give them a try.

  • I dunno, the complexity in which Jordan wrote always intrigued me. Every nation, every race of people, has their own in depth history and style and traditions. The way he describes the one power and it's use, is vivid. , I love his character development. I mean you can feel his characters grow and mature as you read each book. sure it's slow at times, but it's twelve books. I mean Jordan had a way of maturing his characters, without them losing those traits, readers first fell in love w/.

  • George R R Martin made so many loose endings that it was impossible to coherently tie them up again, you can tell he's used to writing scripts.

  • EphidelDarkheat... Jordan hasn't written another book because he's dead...

  • I know. I was talking about George R.R. Martin's next book in the comment you're referring to. I don't care too much about what Jordan has written anymore, to be honest.

Although, if I haven't said it already in this video, I actually do like this song. It's pretty catchy, in a way. It matches the feel I got from Jordan's world...but I didn't really like what Jordan did with the characters in that world. A lot of it just seemed strained and unnecessary to me.

  • FUCK YOU IF U DON'T LIKE IT!

Jordans wife passed the work to another writer (can't remember his name) and it will be reales sometime this year (atleast the 1 book in the end (ive heard it idk if its true))

Jordan is the greatest writer ever and thats the truth!

  • brandon sanderson is his name

  • I've read both series. Martin's writing is excellent and extremely creative. However his stories have little emotional impact compared with jordan' wot. just as you begin to like a character and start to connect with it, martin kills it off. every character in ice and fir that I've grown attached to has died except for two.

  • but brandon sanderson is finishing it

  • That's simply not true. In the beginning of the series George RR Martin made a giant tome of a book every 2 years. When he was working on A Dance with Dragons between 2000-2005 It became so long that the publishers wouldent publish it unless he cut it into two. He came up with the genious solution to split the book geographically instead. Giving us a complete book (A Feast for Crows) with half the characters saved for the next one. Now keep in mind that the next book was almost done.....

  • ...and was ment to be published within a year. So that is two giant books in 5 years. Not good but not really bad either. However Martin was not satisfied with what he had allready writen. So he threw away almost an entire book and started again for nothing. Let me say that to you again. AN ENTIRE BOOK, because he was not happy with the quality. That's some increadible writer integrity and he deserves better than people calling him a "fuckin fag" just because he won't give us an imperfect book.

  • It's a vent, calm down and take your lips off his asshole and realize I'm only expressing a little frustration for it having been so long. Just like I get pissed and Call Sanderson a fucking fag when I hear that the final WOT book is three volumes. I don't literally mean that Sanderson takes dick, I mean to show I'm frustrated, but will end up waiting and reading regardless.

  • Now I'm just stating facts here and I'm in no way giving Martin more credits than he deserves. I also have to claim that I delivered my rebuttals in a quite calm and orderly manner with just a few seconds of caps lock. If you are so linguistically inferior that you cannot express simple frustration without cursing and insulting your cause of distress then that is your problem not mine.

  • Firstly, you were not making a rebuttal, you were making an interjection, seeing as my comments were not directed towards you originally. Secondly, I find cursing when I'm frustrated much more fulfilling on a personal level. Thirdly, if it is not your problem, then you should fuck off.

  • and lastly, I apologize. sorry for cursing, and for possibly offending you by insulting an author you enjoy. and thanks for the information on GRRM, I was not aware of all the complexities.

  • I thought an interjection was something like "Oh no" or "eh". I found this definition; "An interjection is a word added to a sentence to convey emotion. It is not grammatically related to any other part of the sentence."

But I'm going to argue against anything here.

  • you are correct, but an interjection is also "something that is interjected or that interrupts"

My usage of interjection means that your comment was an interruption of a previous discussion I was having with another person.

  • Well, you certainly did your homework.

  • Isn´t there a book after the prologue?

  • I'm not sure. Do you mean a book that takes place after new spring?

  • Love the series but not so much the song....

  • AHAHA I was thinking the same thing! The Books kick ass though. I just started this series and I'm on Book Three. Perrin4theWIN! I hope they give him more book time cause so far he's just getting brushed over.

  • Perrin comes in and out. When he is currently in something he will be frequently in chapters when he's not he may only get every 10th chapter. He gets a lot of chapters in Carhien and Two Rivers for example.

  • wolfs......

    and i like the aiel!

i am re-reading the books now. waiting for the last books.

  • doing the same thing.... right now i'm at the beginning of Lord Of Chaos

  • me 2

  • Tey shouldve just did an istrumental. The singer is terrible and lyrics dumb. Sounds like an anime intro.

  • Thank you!

  • why did they make music to the books?

  • i wonder how would "The March of Death" sound like? i really wanna hear that composition if there is one

  • peace brother

  • It Almost sounds like Tenacious D...

If they where lame and in a poorly acted 80's made for daytime TV movie.

Books rock this song makes me cringe...

    *Vomit*

  • You go to hell. This is the greatest song of all goddamn time.

  • Also, Tenacious D are faggots who play the same Riff over and over and over with generic lyrics. Fuck you.

    THE WHEEL OF TIIIIIIIME!

THE WORLD IS GONE BUT THE LEGEND LIVES ON!

  • ... What? Tenacious D has the power... of rock...

Don't hate the power of rock.

  • Tenacious D has the power of combined faggotry, go listen to real music.

  • And we played the first thing that came to our heads it just so happened to be... the best song in the world. THE BEST SONG IN THE WOOOORRLLDDD!!!

Don't hate what you can't duplicate

  • And we played the first thing that came to our heads it just so happened to be... EACH OTHERS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALSSS

    Fixed

  • I just found myself singing along to the song.

  • i definatly need to make a Wot soundtrack...

    all METAL!

  • This makes me want to vomit... uhhh.

  • The soundtrack is pretty good! But do you know/have the Wheel of Time game? The FPS? That has a wonderful soundtrack, it is really good! I'd even say better than this soundtrack. And yes Sing to the trees, I think the game's music is more epic. Anyways, if you click on the cd and explore it, it lets you take the music...so, I'll make a couple youtube vids and put them in response to these ones. You can get a comparison :D

  • Must admit i thought the mucis was a bitt better, but i still love it, and i love that you get them out on yotube. No one else did xD

So Ty for that, i am a big fan of WoT and i am reading them for fifth time

(sorry for places i write wrong, i am not so good in english writing xD)

  • thanks!!!!

  • The soundtrack was made to go with the book.

  • it is good but if you look at the Soundtracks from other movies it isn't good anymore it is just nice to listen to and make homework or read an book or something like that.

  • what the hell? lol i always thought WoT theme would be a bit more...epic, not so much 90's rock with celtic mixes, but anyway considering no one else did it, gj

  • I must say, I'm not really a fan.

  • SHIRE!!!!! BAGGINS!!!!!!

  • @RarendtheBlack but that would lead them here?!

  • It's not bad I can say. I just saying that it isn't can't relation with the book series. Anyway so are the song quite good :)

  • nice one a little bit Celtic and Robert Jordan liked it so we must have respect for it.

  • and then it kinda goes into random 80's rock type music ???

  • it's not Terrible.....but I think cuz this was done a while ago, music in movies has some what gotten better then it was. It stopped being soooo corny.

  • Sryy my typing is rly bad, because i'm rly pissed of!!!!

    ...WoT THEME*

    ...serious enough*

    ...Wheeeel of Tiiimeee tuuurns*

  • Oh come ooooooooooown, this can't be the WoT time!!!!! This isn't serious eough even for Tom's theme... screw you whoever did this!!!

Just repeting Wheeel of Timeeee won't make this song WoT theme.. if there's ever a WoT movie, praise the lord this don't get heard :S

  • Meh yeah i expected something MUCH better. Oh well... :/

  • I think its fine.. could have been more epic but RJ approved of it.. so I think you should all respect that!

  • yea.. i was expecting something more lordoftheringsish...like a huge orchestra, but meh.. lol it gets kinda catchy the more it goes on.. especially the mad violin solo.. definatly grew on me.

  • This isnt epic enough to be the theme for The Wheel of Time. This sounds like a theme song for an 80's t.v show.

  • i definitely agree, not nearly epic enough. to call something the theme of wheel of time you gotta be pretty damn sure.

  • for sure. the singer just pisses me off. If Rand heard this shit he'd Balefire this dudes ass

  • Yeah it sucks donkey ass.....Even lord of the rings theme is better...(-.-")

  • oh yeah, by a longshot.

  • "Even Lord of The Rings is better"? Lotr music was epic.
