  • aahhh u need to mix better

  • Hey - nice job!

    Check out my version here:

    soundcloud-dot-com/gordrann/loveless-album

    Thanks and rock on!

  • great job man!

  • Good job, Daniel.

Hope it didn't take you 2 years and bankrupt your record company!

  • is there anyway you could post the chords please? or create a tab? I've been desperate to play this song for a long time

  • Hooray for Pro Tools!

  • why do belinda and kevin strum their jazzmasters with their tremolo i have the same guitar as them tried it.....but it seems pointless and strumming with it is odd hmmmm maybe they only know how to work it

  • @09prizefighter09 They don't.They strum with plecs. But they keep the temolo arm in their hands to make the pitch constantly waver (Daniel is doing the same with the Bigsby trem on his guitar in this video if you notice). It's one of several things employed to get that mbv guitar sound.

  • MBV are sacred to me, but i'll let you off with this rendition..pretty much there save for a bit more bass..props aplenty Mr Earwicker.. could you possibly do "you never should" or "realise" please?

  • Excellent. Like the harmony.

  • This is good. Liked the vocal harmonizing...gives me an idea for my try at this song...

  • HOLY SHIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT u have taken my awe to a whole new level of explosion...i aaaalways play this to myself when im alone, drunk and full of bliss after a magical time...how did u do the high "wharrnng whaaarrng" bits

    what am i to do

youre breaking my heart and my guitar..in too good a way!!!!

  • Nice. You really nailed it... 2 questions:

    1. Are you a soprano or did someone else do the vocals? Sounds like Belinda anyway. :)

    2. How does the Bigsby work out for the Kevin Shields whammy technique? I've been thinking of adding one to my Gretsch Jet for that very purpose but I've never actually tried playing like that w/ a Bigsby. Seems like it would be more comfortable than the Jazzmaster whammy bar, but maybe not.

  • how do you do the lead high guitar part thing?

  • This is f'n awesome! Needs a titch more base on the bottom.

  • That's a great album to get obsessed about.

    *thumbsup*

  • love the song, aren't some of your tracks distorted?:)

  • Yes, yes they are!

  • Well done man. Probably the hardest album to get the sound...But you got near, So well done man.

  • @eljako123 Why should he get near? He should go beyond the original!

  • Rickenbacker!!!! yes!!!!

  • Sweeet set up man!

  • lol

  • the bass should be an octave higher

  • wats up with it switching between 2 monitors and one

  • what a beautiful song, any recommendations for another

  • nice video

  • pretty nice!

good job. i'd like to have you instruments. :)

  • great man!!!! love that song!!!

  • can you do "You Make me Realise"?

  • you made me realise

  • well i was close :)

  • proper good work. nice

  • Great work - esp the drumming. It's a bit overcompressed - but I think you can fix it.

  • I like it!

  • Here are the lyrics:

Sleep Like a pillow (where) She wont care Anyway (where)

Soft As a pillow Touch her there Where she wont dare

    Somewhere

Sleep Like a (royal) (subject) Think That you grew Stronger there

Speak Shes not sc(ared) Soft like theres silk Everywhere

Sleep (is a) pillow Come Where she wont dare Anyway (where)

(look) In the mirror Shes not there Where she wont care Somewhere

  • holy fuck, nowhere near as heavy as the original but mad props dude, i never would have even tried this song. Seems like a fuck ton of work though with all the layering and what not in pro tools.

  • RESPECT!

  • Woah man I love this song and your video \m/

  • this is awesome! i love this album, and you did a great dedication. great job! post more! :)

  • fine..... but where is the dirt in your sound ?

  • mortal genius man!!! great job!

  • Think you need to get out more daniel! Great work.

  • great

  • Very good I think.

  • im speechless

  • I wouldn't have thought to put Daniel Earwicker and My Bloody Valentine in the same sentence; now I'm not so sad I didn't get a chance to go to the Roundhouse gig.

  • I wish I had all your equipment, and, you know, talent!!

  • Wow, didn't know they were back together. Man, I love the album Loveless.

You did a great job (as always)!

  • Shit man! Didn't know you were into these an' all, as well as the glorious Smiths!

    YOU are VERY talented!

Thanks again Dan, NOW I can AT LAST play "You've Got Everything Now" x

  • Nice to finally see your face in the video.

I loved all the ones in the past where you casually shot very little or nothing of you.

Kind of makes it artistic and mysterious.

If you don't mind me asking, what are the chords and what placement on the capo on "The World Is Waiting"? Great stuff.

  • What a great way to start a Sunday morning!

Fantastic song, awesome take on it, not enough stars on the little rating thing...

    Thanks.

  • your talent is most notable..very good..thanks

  • amazing!

  • nice to wake up with this in my inbox, well done.

  • The wild and crazy screaming guitar sounds between verses -- how is that sound made? Is there a slide involved?

  • Reverse reverb, same as How Soon Is Now. Not actual slide guitar but just sliding a note up and down with my finger. Then reverse that, re-record it with a long dense reverb, then reverse it again. There's also some delay on the strumming tracks, but no other effects involved.

  • Where does the "reverse reverb" come from? A patch on your effects unit?

  • I think he means reversing the track and then adding reverb to the reverse. Then when you flip it back to the right way round the reverb comes before ..... rather than after.... just like How Soon Is Now....check out the video he made for that .... he explains what he did with text on the video...

  • FUCK YES

  • pretty fucken great x
