@1111chakal this is called the "TITLE' song of the movie, but the 'theme' song at the beginning of the movie is the Funeral for Queen Victoria, written by Henry Purcell... but both songs are played by "Walter Carlos". Occasionally someone does a movie collage and the theme song sometimes is allowed to stay up, but Carlos appears to feel no benefits of allowing the true versions to be publicly accessible. Sometimes movie clips with the music get by the 'business people'.
@brendandawna It's actually the famous Funeral Music for Queen Mary - the processional part. Purcell died in 1695, well before Victoria came to the throne :)
still got that collection righthere on 5"25.. also damn great movie btw.. (story older than 50 years but never been such close to reality than now in 2010!)
Thank you Jazztap64 for showing a small penis like TripleExPresident what an ass he truly is. I'm a woman (proud of it too) and I LOVE this movie, the rape scene didn't bother me, it wasn't an attack on all women it was showing how violence got out of control in that society. I wasn't offended, but you calling people bitches shows what a dipshit you are.
@dragonheart65 TripleExPresident isn't calling all females on earth stupid bitches, he's saying that those specific girls at college were the so called 'stupid bitches' for not giving an amazing film a chance, like you said those scenes were to show how crime had got out of control when the film is set, in a way those scenes were a very important part in the film. If one is not enjoying it fine! But they should watch it all and know how the whole story goes so you can give a legit review.
i can't believe we read this book in high school. being so rape-ish and all. i also hear many people can't finish it. they need to take it for what it is, it's beautifully written and directed.
Clockwork Orange was a one of the free movies when I was in college. Within the first 15 minutes, half the girls got up and made their guys leave with them. Stupid bitches,
@TripleExPresident: As a woman, I can understand why they wanted to leave. The rape scenes are the most disturbing I have ever seen. Although a good movie, I was offended and terrified (thinking of myself in that situation) by some scenes. And, trust me, I can watch pretty violent movies.
All I am saying is don't call those girls stupid bitches based on that.
@TripleExPresident I know quite a few people who said things like ' i dont know how anyone could like this movie, its sick' but if you leave half way thru you never get to see what happens to alex....you just think him and his friends beat and rape people the whole movie....Stupid Bitches
@TripleExPresident its only offensive when you know the guys watching wish they could go raping women and stealing shit but they know they'd get their ass whooped.
@TripleExPresident lol funny, cause im a girl, and i made my boyfriend watch it with me. i loved the movie, and god, am i in love with little alex. and i think you mean the first 5 mintues, cause thats when the first rape seen started to happen.
@TripleExPresident That's pretty crazy that this brilliant movie (my favorite movie) was free, and wasn't considered anything special back at that time. And stupid bitches that have no respect for quality good films and only care about what's 'cute'. I'd break up with my girlfriend if she didn't have respect for this film.
@TripleExPresident Silly girls, I'm a girl and I first saw this movie when I was 8, and it was the first movie I evern purchased with my own money at 13. No taste in this world.
@saintdestroy Aw, please! Don't try that and give a rest by now, would ya!
It's not real, it's a movie--it Hollywood! I mean are you kidding!? Those are actors and actresses doing that!
I mean it's already bad enough that women can't handle Reality, but much, MUCH worse when they can't even distinguish between real life and Hollywood, and then can't handle so much as a movie.
They are stupid dumb braindead idiots--or did I even need to point out the obvious...?
@chenalos Why do they so need a special propaganda film in complete alignment with some (biased) aganda? I mean if a good film is not good enough for them then to hell with them as, on the contarary, they are not good enough for cinema...and a lotta other things also hehehe
You have to connect with your audience. That's all there is to it. If you lose the audience they are not obligated to stay on board. Any woman or man for that matter leaves the room once the brutality and rape starts then it's not for them. They don't have to watch it. If they did they'd be strapped into chairs with clamps on their eyes.
@chenalos Well, I agree with that--one must consider the audience. But Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange is among the finest that cinema has ever offered in its entire history. If they don't like it, ah well. Many have and do and likely will, and the reason just stated is only one reason why.
They have Sex in the City 2--great! More power to 'em! That's their thing, and none of my business. I, OTOH, prefer fine filmmaking, rape or no rape, just good cinema, and that's none of their business.
@TripleExPresident Girls are stupid--don't know a proper film when they see one (which, as you noted, they don't). They think Sex in the City 2 is the height of cinematic achievement!
Ta hell with them! They couldn't have made me leave with them, that's for certain hehehehe
If they did a remake to this movie it wouyld be the equivalent of trying to remake Jaws, 2001, Goodfellas or Star Wars. They are classics and perfect the way they are. I would boycott remakes.
@swerveonthebeat I usually do too, but as an amateur filmmaker, if I could get the chance to remake this movie, I'd be the happiest person alive. Not putting down this movie, I think it's perfect, I just think it'd be a cool opportunity.
@hollywoodsevil707 Meh, not to mention an EXTREMELY ambitious project. I mean taking on a Stanley Kubrick film...not exactly remaking Friday the 13th, ya know.
I dunno if anyone should ever try it, but if someone ever does, they'd better be GOOD, and I mean well beyond just merely good, and more like comparable to the filmmaking skills of Kubrick himself.
But hey, Jackson did a proper (but not "perfect") job in '05 with Cooper's & Schoedsack's 'King Kong' [1933], so....
@swerveonthebeat I hate it when people prevent remakes. They're not CHANGING the movie...They're making a NEW movie. It in no way affects the existing movie...If anything it only makes the old one look better, besides, who said the new one would be bad? Better to take a shot than have nothing...
@SirTorment "have nothing"!? ??? Holy shit! Just make up your own movies! Ya know, something NEW and ORIGINAL (and good and not crappy), FFS! That's not nothing! But it is if you don't do it!
Good lord! I can't believe you just said that! Wow! Take a shot at originality, for a change! Oh my god! Aw, jeez! Unbelievable! No really, take a shot or two or whatever at it, for fuck sake! *shakes head* :|
They already remade Psycho and The Day the Earth Stood Still, botching them rottenly, as if they should have even tried to begin with!
These fuckin' ADD-afflicted kids can't even make up their own damn movie--fuckin' lame asses! They need to leave true Classics alone and make their own future-Classics! But, of course, they're not gonna be able to do that like everyone else in the past has.
@PunkRocker666Metal Hmm LOL are you sure you're not just making that up, and that there is no such game, not even a fanmade one? LOL Too bad--it might have been a good idea to make hehehehe
I mean why don't they just scribble some crap and call it a "remake" of the 'Mona Lisa' for the ADD-generation, and why don't they rebuild the Pyramid of Cheops, the Great Wall of China, Big Ben, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Empire State Building too, while they're at it. They could use Legos. No, not real Legos, but virtual ones, ripped straight from yet another Star Wars Lego game. LOL hehe

Read the book, its way better than the film, although I love the film, the book is just amazing, left me speechless.
ex0genesis 1 year ago
@ex0genesis I've read Burgess' book and seen the film.
And yes, the book IS amazing, a true Modern Literary Classic, comparable to Nineteen Eighty-Four, The Lord of the Rings, The Catcher in the Rye, etc.
And when being made into a film, it warranted no less than Stanley Kubrick to make it a worthy production.
I'd also recommend the book and the film to anyone who likes the finer, more high-brow things.
