  • why do you have a server room in your house?

  • @woo2fly18 Server testing and a little hosting here and there

  • what kind of hosting do you do?

  • @beasy26062 Small websites, nothing major. I primarily do a lot of testing on networking, storage, servers and such.

  • nice kabel manegment!

  • @sotiri2 Thanks

  • to run all this equipment like in an apartment ..will it be able to any different specs needed power wise?

  • That is INSANE! Truly impressive! What internet connection do you have? :)

  • @Nvidiaguides I had Surewest, but now I am stuck with Att.

  • @PoweredbyCiscoIBM Oh dear :/ What is your ping, download and upload? Mine is 3 down, 0.2 up and 70ms ping (crap)

  • @PoweredbyCiscoIBM

What internet connection speed do you have?

  • what are you using the servers for? and isnt it loud?

  • @ilemonni I use them for testing and light hosting of different things, and yes it can be very loud out at times.

  • stupids hackers r trying for year to hack couple of website's and they are not really sure they can make it or not !

u just need a homemade fireworks , throw it inside the box of this server , hole fucking website's on this server will get fuck lol easier ! cheaper loool

  • How are you powering all that? It look way over a standard ring main.

  • Thank You !!! ____ you did good job ^_^

    My regard to you...

    (person from Iraq)

  • I love the way you have made all your cables and system neat, clean and tidy. I too do this with all my computers and servers, in fact all wiring in the home/office. Fantastic, it's really nice to see someone else who takes great care of their equipment.

  • that makes me so jeaous. wish i could have one of those in my house

  • Really nice!!

  • 2:08 - recording light? (red) xD

  • @vitorix24 i put a tape on its. its annoying and also useless.

  • What steps have you taken in regards to cooling? I can just imagine the heat generated by the equipment. You have a very interesting setup and it is very neat (i like neat). Furthermore, will you be considering upgrading the network to an fibre network?

  • @harrymetalgear I eventually had to move the rack in front of the window to rapidly exhaust the heat, shown in one of my other videos. In regards to the fibre network, most of my SAN traffic is internal. I use port channels for all of my external SAN traffic which works fine for now. If I had the money to use fibre channel, I would rather use iSCSi over a 10gig Ethernet network instead. IMO.

  • you should put bars on the window and add locks on the doors, just incase

  • Super clean man. Super clean. I think it may be a bit overkill for a home use lol, but it looks excellent.

  • I feel sorry for your power bill. Nowadays, I wonder if it wouldn't also be more efficient to just get a handful of multi processor systems .

  • dude, this is one of the few videos on youtube of home servers that is impressive. This is truely impressive, I really wish I could achieve this soon :)

    I'm only currently running 6 x HP DL380 12GB 2 x 3.2Ghz Xeon's. All ESX 3.5 hosts, with a VI3 infalstructure with fibre backbone. I think my next step is a propper rack :)

But you're video is truely inspirational!!!

  • @mrmattyboy Thanks, I really appreciate the good feed back.

  • Why do you need so much stuff if that is for your house?

  • @UltraMorado10 I use some for home and some for testing and web development.

  • @PoweredbyCiscoIBM what r u hosting on this servers?

  • @PoweredbyCiscoIBM do you have a dedicated ip for you web testing?

  • @q1joe Yes I do

  • WOW *-*

  • how much did u get this set up?

  • @slowshow111 I probably spent some where around $3000

  • Can I have a shell account?

  • Wow! Neat stuff! Thanks for sharing....looks pretty complicated to me :P

  • Very nice cabling.

  • This is very nice. Are you CISCO certified?

  • @techking00107 Thanks, but I never took the time to study and get certified. Maybe someday in the future.

  • What exactly are you doing with this? Super fancy DLNA server ;)?

  • Hello. It seems for each server in your rack, you have at least 3 network cables coming out. Is it link aggregation for extra throughput or just for something else. I want to do something like that but I don't know how to configure or what hardware to get (ie type of switch). I would appreciate if you could help me. thanks. Great vid BTW

  • @dawgp0und he has RSA cards he needs two for remote accesses to the server...

  • And do you keep this on overnight?

  • @techkid100 A couple of these servers do stay on 24/7 as they run most of my network services; firewall, IDS, DHCP, DNS, etc.

  • @techkid100 I have my own server, well very cheap converted computer lol. I would never have enough for something like that and my mum complained about the noise of my server lol would be crazy if I had that in my room.

  • WOAH! How good do you want your network? Mines just a computer, a hub, and a wireless router.

  • Very nicely done - top notch technology too!

Have you considered adding the cost of your equipment into your insurance coverage on the house?

  • @ManOfMeans Thank you, but no I have not really considered coverage on my equipment.

  • wow much ibm stuff! did you stole that rack?? come on... as home server its massiv! damn what did you payed for or paying?

  • For what are you these servers using for?

  • Very nice and tidy!

  • i bet your elec bill is high. lol

  • Wow.. that is pretty damn hard core!

One curiosity.. do you have any kind of special cooling or A/C in that room.. or is all that stuff fine running at room temperature?

  • MWHAHAHA >:D

  • Awesome setup, really tidy cabling.

  • What is the Cisco device directly below your 2900XLs? Is that one of the Cisco/Linksys gigabit switches? Beautiful setup, by the way!

  • @Meta4XYZ Thanks, it is a Cisco/Linksys SLM2024 Gigabit switch.

  • just wondering how much power do these server consume?

  • @ASUSproz I have a kill-a-watt tester and last I checked it was about 3000 watts for about a little more than 3/4 of the rack turned on.

  • @PoweredbyCiscoIBM Wow... how much extra of an impact does that have on your electricity bill?

  • @RanDoMkId73 About $100 extra a month.

  • Hi. May i ask you one question. How much is your monthly electric bill? Thx.

  • @plastiport about $350

  • WOW now that is a computer.

  • Its... Beautiful.

  • why the hell do you so many servers?

  • I am sure you already know this, but a very nice setup and looks great

  • one word WOW

I wish I had a setup half as good as yours

  • Looks like some nice equipment, especially the rack. Beautiful cabling btw (from switch(s) to back of rack.

  • yo nice setup, what are these used for?

  • @wpday07 Thanks, for the most part I use these servers for application testing and some different types of hosting.
