  • Why is he 15 years old? Did he say, That's a great set of dentures? Seeing him live is just so amusing. Real candy-ass.

  • @MrReallyHard I hope you are smited for that asinine comment... I saw him live last night and the concert was AMAZING

  • In my opinion, SCC's best, period.

  • One of SCC's best, in my opinion.

  • This is a great song I have been listening to him since the 90,s he has a

beautiful voice from God. This song raises your spirits puts you in a great mood.

After I get ready for bed and I get ready to go to sleep I,m gonna incude praying for all the good Christian singers out there and for God to put a hedge of protection around them. I,d like for us to hear him singing another 20 years from now if it takes that long for the rapture to come.. He is such a blessing to me and my family.

  • 0:46 there were laptops in '92?

  • @SupaDupaMan1000 Yes....they were bricks that were about 2-3 inches thick when Open.

  • wooo

  • tears came out of my eyes as I read the bible verse shared by christineshires... what a beautiful promise from our Lord Jesus... thanks. Blessings!

  • this is one of God's angels no doubt, he has singing and serving the Lord for decades, never a speck of dirt on this precious example of loyalty!!! His music can inspire, comfort, and get you through some really dark places in your life, he definitely points you to Christ,.....Thank you Steven Curtis Chapman!!!

  • I love this song so much I want it played at my funneral

  • John Contemporary Christian Mellencamp

  • I really like how steven reaches out to people with GOD's help through his music. This song shows how I use to feel when I first got saved back in High School.

  • There have been "laptops" since 1968. The original ones were quite heavy and used for very specific fields. Laptops that open like they do today started in the 80's and color screens have been common since '91. Just most people in the US didn't have them back then as they seem to now.

  • This song came out in '92,... but @ :48 is he opening a laptop? Have they been around that long..?

  • cheesy to the nth. sooooo littered with cliches.

  • @willbodine Couldn't have said it better! -__- innovative music and thoughtful lyrics take a back to what I guess is considered an encouraging spiritual message.

  • Great song, great video, great message. Thanks!!!

  • Okay, this is gonna sound weird. I am Pagan, but I grew up listening to him. I just love the beat to this song. It's just so pretty. Weird, yes. I know this. But I love music. No matter what it is, if it is beautiful, and I like it, then I'm gonna listen to it.

  • @crbooth1224 If you want some really great songs, lyrics and beat, check out Michael W, Smith, Rich Mullins, David Crowder Band, well the list is long. Christian Contemporary Music has come a long way.

  • i love this song but isn't there sorter versions of this song

  • @bamacat100 Nope, this is the song that came out a very long time ago and on the album it had a prologue that was ahead of it, we all thought it was all the same song. Totally awesome song.

  • @ynnad49 thanks i was just wondering bc at a church camp i went to they had a shorter version must have been the prologue

  • He reminds me of George McFly from Back to the Future....

    This Song Rox!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chrisrandall1978 I was just thinking the same thing lol

  • oh this is SO 80/90s-tastic

  • this is really my favorite song!!!!! So beautiful and good video!

  • This song makes me think of the Rapture when the Lord returns we all get on horses and ride behind the Lord to heaven, the song evens says the ride of a lifes time. Amen

  • AWSOME I LOVE THIS SONG 300 THUMBS UP

  • Heard it for the first time today. Great tune and glad its here.

  • What an uplifting song! I love his music! I got introduced to Steven Curtis Chapman when I was a teenager in the 1990s by the youth fellowship leader at my church at the time.

  • I so love this song...and the msg is so true, this IS the great adventure. I'm afraid sometimes I look at it differently tho'.

On a different note, look how YOUNG Steven looks here! He looks like he is barely out of his teens!

  • This is an amazing song. I haven't heard it in a while, but I'm glad to listen to it. It's fun to sing along with. Steven Curtis Chapman is one of my favorite artists. Now there's an artist with a LOT of talent!!!!

  • 18 People should have hit the like button or it wasn't there for them to hit...

  • This is hands down his best tour since he started. 11 out 13 songs on this tour were hits. Great Adventure strayed at 1 for almost a month.

  • Oh my god! I'm so glad that I'm still alive! This song helps me through the time that a crater hit our garden, I was so scared!

  • An ideal dad

  • CHECK OUT THAT HAIR

  • I married a christian man and this was "our song", we even made it one of the first few songs we danced to at our wedding. 2 years later his drug addiction and physical abuse just got to be too much. My life since waking up and moving on from religion has been my greatest adventure :)

  • @brandywinevalentine @brandywinevalentine

Alot of people misrepresent Christianity. That has been happening since it was birthed, but real Christians love unconditionally, just as Jesus commanded us to. Others really want to do what's right but don't know how to escape from their "demons." There are not enough authentic Christians, but that's changing. By the way, I'm moving on from religion too :)

  • Giving up my life to the Lord has been so scary and He is there each and every moment. This is truly an exciting, awesome, "Great Adventure". Give it all to Him and there can be no other choice but, to have that Great Adventure. Everything else for me pales in comparison to what the Lord is doing with my life. Hang on to the reigns because it will be a super wild ride. Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PROLOGO???

  • an old favorite

  • This is an oldie but a good song and the landscape is beautiful.

  • This song reminds me of my cousin. He passed away last week in an ATV accident. He loved God and lived his life to the fullest. This was one of his favorite songs from the early 1990s.

  • GREAT VIDEO! I LOVE IT!

  • This song is soooo great!!! Praise God!!! :)

  • My parents used to play this song in the car when I was around six. :) We would be going to Colorado from Kansas, we go there every year, and we would dance and sing. ^_^ Thanks Steven and Miss Mary Beth for everything!! Love you guys!!

  • I didnt he did this song x3!!!

  • Eu amo essa música!

    Deus abençoe a todos!

  • that sucks about his daghter getting ran over

  • Okay, play this song in your car and just TRY to stay below the speed limit. I dare you. Great song.

  • @manko747 - that is too funny! Yup, if I had this on a CD, you would definitely see me going bop, bop, bop down the road!

  • @manko747 I'm the same way, I have to set the cruise control!

  • @manko747 our youth pastor was playing this song and got a speeding ticket

  • @cupcake11111s , omg, I did too, once, with my kids in the car jammin with me!!

  • @manko747 our youth pastor got a speeding ticket while this song was playing

  • Comment removed

  • @manko747 ~ I know what you mean! I got a ticket (7 miles over the speed limit...lame!) while jammin' out to this one! I had the music very loud and I was dancing like a dork all by myself in my car, so I didn't hear the sirens at first. OOPSIES!!! :)

  • @manko747 There is no way i can do that! LOL

  • @manko747 IMPOSSIBLE!!! I just played this song this morning! I was going like 80 or 90!!! I can't remember just thanking God I'm still here in one piece!

  • the love of God will take us far beyond our wildest dreams!

    amen!

  • Amo essa música! Linda demais! <3

  • Love the line "This is what we were created for"

  • Me and my youth choir from Merriman Road Baptist Church in Garden City, Michigan sang this and several of his others in his musical "The Great Artrageous Adventure".

  • Great video! It is a GREAT adventure! Saddle up!

  • @blessedmamaof10 - My sentiments exactly! I love this song (and video) because of its depiction of Christianity not as a heavy, burdensome directive that must be carried out, but rather as the wonderful, exciting adventure that it is - serving an awesome Master who gave everything for us.

  • they played this on the morning announcments at school, i peed my pants.

  • @fpsvincent142 SAME AT MY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u go to chaminade?

  • yeah dude! im a freshman though

  • hhaha so am i

  • yo who are you, im james buckley

  • yo haha is vin deflorio lmfao

  • @fpsvincent142 at our school right before the big exams we got our in the hall teachers and all and Prayed that God would guide us through the test. and I went to a public school not a Christian school..It was sooo good!!!! Cold Chills...

  • I Love this song! It makes me think about what God would have me do next. Following Jesus and the Bible is a Great Adventure and the Reward is Great. Jesus never said it was easy, but he said it would be worth it. "In my Fathers house are many mansions, If it were not so I would have told you" I go there to prepare a place for you and if I go there to prepare a place for you I will come back and recieve you unto myself so that where I am You may also be" PRAISE GOD!!!!!

  • @christineshires amen!!!!

  • To everyone on this page, we are all brothers, whether your are Christian or not. You all have my respect, and I only ask that you try to make society a better place, and make the effort to not fall to Satan.

  • @Piggers1992 amen brother

  • Your line of thinking is nefarious my friend, if you choose not to believe in God, more power to you, but by coming on this web page and bashing Christians, you are doing exactly what Satan wants you to do. I would advise you not to fall to a different social vice, one that will make the world a worse place, and that is evil.

  • . The words in that book have helped people find hope and purpose and helped them make the world a better place because they CHOSE to. Goodluck finding anything like that in your preciouse phone book.

  • We Christians do think for ourselves, God's greatest gift is free will. I choose to follow the bible. There isn't anyone forcing me to do otherwise. Also, as I said before, the bible encourages us to make choices that will make the world a better place, such as feeding the poor, helping those in need. This is what being a Christian is all about.

  • Maybe we Christians are a "social vice", but we are the one social vice that cares about all the rest. Also, just for reference in your timeline, Jesus was around over 2,000 years ago, and Chrisitianity started about then, not in 325 A.D. Look it up if you have to. Also, none of my fellow Christians are attacking you, they are simply trying to help you see the hate and bitterness in your heart. Psychopaths have said much less hateful things then you.

  • When was the last time you heard your two best friends bad mouthing other people and chose to not participate in the conversation? These are choices based on the bible. Try reading Proverbs, Job, the story of Noah, any of these have a plethora of information on how to make the world a better place.

  • This is to metalmorph and eternally forgiven. Metal morph, age is simply a number, maturity and understanding don't come just with age. Now, to address your attacks on Christians, I would inquire as to what kind of Christian you were raised as? You sit here and say that Christians are consumers, frauds, full of hate, that the phone book has more wisdom, and that Christianity is a social vice. I admit, I am a christian consumer, I spend my money on the homeless, the hospitalized.

  • I LOVE JESUS!

  • Stephen Curtis Chapman has many awesome songs, these are love songs.

His life, especially recently is so inspirational.

He's a true believer and his music lifts me up, gives me hope, makes me cry... PS: 36 is not a mature age, life CAN be a lot longer, you will hopefully never stop learning, as long as you have an open mind. So don't close the door so quickly...the truth can take a LONG time to "get", before it can set you free.

  • He kind of looks like Chris Farley in some of the shots...early 90s what can you expect

  • Chose wisely, Eternity is a very very long time to regret a decision that is so simple and easy. God didn't make this hard folks. We are such small minded creations why would he. He made this as easy as a choice. A christian life isn't easy, but it's sure got a out of this world retirement plan... So saddle up your horses, we are in for the ride of our lives... A great adventure... Come on along,

  • Religion is a creation of man yes, Christianity was born of God. For those who dough it, Ask the apostle Paul. Like many he was intent on killing the Christians in this world Until he met Jesus face to face. The Bible says that if you believe and ask God for forgiveness then you are saved from the Hell - "special place" (Quote Commander063). This life is a Choice who we will serve, God, or Satan the fallen one. We are spiritual beings first created to live forever one place or the other.

  • It's not about religion, it's about relationship! . . . <3's to Jesus!

  • Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

  • well consider the alternative, everything is a human invention, there is no morality, no ethics, right and wrong. all these are illusions human soceity creates to control it's member.

the true superman can discard all of this, there is nothing in this universe but power and the will to it.

that means if i have the power to opress you, it is not wrong. i do because i can.

  • religion is an invention of man,...so is faith and the belief in anything bigger or more real than you yourself,...government invented modern religion in 325 a.d. when will we evolve mentaly and socialy?

"its no measure of sanity to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society" -krishnamurti

i just want to see a world where people think for them selves and are not living in fear of a fairytale, an aperation,...a fraud of magnificent portions,...just think,...think,...

  • @Commander063 the ten commandments no longer aplies to chrisitans i can tell that you have no idea what you are talking about so please before you criticize at least try to be correct about what your criticizing thanks

  • Why do you say the 10 commandments no longer apply? I think Matthew 22:36 says otherwise. Jesus explained many in more depth, he did not say just ignore them, they don't apply any longer. They are still relevant but the author GOD sent Jesus to try to get us humans to understand the true depth of what the meaning of these 10 are. Many of our Laws in America are based on these commandments.

  • @glitchable Remember, God never spoke an idle word.

  • all of civilized society is governed by LAWS. Many of those laws are shockingly similar to and based on those 10 from Exodus. If you break mans laws, you will pay a fine, go to jail, the death penalty is still administered to some offenses? Our own minds (conscience) tells us right from wrong. Why is reading it so offensive? Most of us just don't like being told how wrong we are....thats how you know its the truth, it hurts.

  • Metalmorph74, Well you say it's just music. Well to those who are followers of Jesus Christ to some it is an inspiration to what God is doing, to others it is a testimony. No, it's not just music. That is what your missing cause you need to hear it with the ears of a Spirit filled believer of Jesus Christ.

  • and dont get me wrong christian people,...this is a great song written by a fantasticly talented man,..i've seen scc live twice and both shows were awsome,...and yes i listen to all music with the same frame of mind,..its just music,...it doesnt make god or gangs or love or hate anymore real than those things already are,...its just music,....

  • this song was based around a camp that met in CO many years ago called The Great Adventure.

  • Maaaann...I remember driving in my mom's Volvo wagon in the mid-90s and listening to this tape...going to the Y and swimming...good times were had by all.

  • It's all true. Jesus is the great adventure.

  • C'mon you guys....it's the 90's!

  • When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's! 12-14So don't you see that we don't owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There's nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go!: (Romans 8:11-14, The Message)

  • sweet message

  • Atheism in itself is a religion.

  • you see how close minded you are,....of course atheism is a religion,...and i'm not atheist,...just unlike you christian lemmings i'm not scared of the fact that there is nothing next,...dumb ass! this isnt a read through,...this is the ride of your life,...stop waisting it standing in line,...you like you tube,...watch the zietgiest movie,...then go seek the truth,....or dont,...wait for that comet,...then your entire cult will be transported,..after you drink the cool aid,...lol :o)

  • I think you are scared my friend, which i think is the case for people like you who know that God exists, but don't want to realization. You probably feel convicted that maybe you might be going to hell and just comfort yourself by making believe that there is no God. Plus yes, you stated you are atheist. Good day sir.

  • you sir are a liar! i have never, ever stated that i am an atheist,...that makes you the scared one,...and a liar! i'm not gonna feel bad for you cuz your repressing alll the anger you feel for a god that acts like a jealous fucking girlfriend, lol, but just keep standing in line guy,...your waisting your life,...this isnt the line for the ride,..this is the ride,...being here now is the great adventure, it has nothing to do with made up gods,..so get back in line consumer,...think for yourself!

  • wow,...i went back thru my posts,...that was a type-o,...i meant not an athiest,...sorry for calling you a liar,...thats my bad,...but you are still blind to the things this universe has to offer,..i'm not scared,...i'm not in denial,...there is no god,...dont you see what a great thing that is? your the coward,...so scared that there is no next life,...look up the word liberty,...you have none,..go find your liberty. dont be scared,...

  • @metalmorph74 I am sad for you, I hope you learn the truth eventually. I wish you well.

  • oh crap,...will you listen to yourselves,...you belong to cult and practice religion,...you friends, are slaves,...to a god that can not be seen, nor heard, nor felt (and spare me the billy graham can you see the wind crap),...not a god of fact,...a god of fiction,..the easter bunny,..santa,...the tooth fairy,...krishna,...budha,...jesus,...get over it,...but keep sending me emails,...cuz i love conversing with the weak minded :o)

  • well i don't get what's you big issue with finding what's "wrong" with religion. there is no right or wrong. right and wrong, weak and strong are illusionary concepts created by humans to make arbitary value judgements on illusionary systems.

by trying to say religion is "wrong" or "bad", we are admitting there is some higher standard that it must be judged by... but by admitting that we are rejecting the natural nature of the atheistic universe...

    hmmm...

  • "I can do no wrong,..for i know not what it is" -satan

thats actualy a quote from mark twain in a story about religion. whats wrong with religion? it asks you to put aside reasoning and thought and just subside to notion that there is a being that has the power to damn you, if he's such a loving god,...why all the nastyness? why does he threaten you? is he a god or a slave owner? what kind of god EVER needed a man to sacrifice his children,...can you not understand how sick that is?,...

  • @metalmorph74 please just stop posting i totally accept you for not believing in God just please stop trying to start stuff, i believe in good aguements but these arent arguements their just comments full of hate

  • dude,...anytime someone doubts your god its got to be hate? then you try to say you accept me?,...i dont carry hate,...you do and so does your lame god,...he's not even original,...god is a farse and so is the bible,...so dont try to turn to the bible to help you,....get a phone book,...its got more real information in it than your fiction novel,...there is no freedom through god,...he lays down rules rite from the start,...here's the fruit....but dont eat it,...keep buying stuff consumers,....

  • when someone doubts my beliefs its defininetly not always fueled by hate i wasnt trying to come off like that , but when someone mocks something its usually fueled by hate and disgust, im basically just asking you to instead of bringing comments like go read a fucking phone book bring something that makes you sound.. like you dont know anything, if you brought logical reasons y you think the bible is false then by all means post it in a respectable way, i respect u can i not have mutual respec?

  • Says the ignorant one himself.....it's good that SCC had one good song the rest of his music sucks

  • its been my experience that people often mock what they don't understand...and often things that are difficult. following Christ, is not for the weak.

  • you are wrong sir,...your mind is closed to any other notion than god and jeus and religion,...how dare you say my mind is closed,...i've opened my mind and freed my thinking from the normal social vices,...yes religion is a vice sir,...if you can't resist,..its an addiction, its holding you hostage,..if you dont get in line and do what your told you go to hell? seriously? so save your kind word for the consumers at church,...go spend more money on the newest christian t-shirt, fuckin consumer!

  • @metalmorph74 perfect freedom through God

  • tiger band,...christianity is a sham,...god is only in books and the minds of the feeble,...you need to think for yourself,..life is to long to serve a fairytale,...how is god any more real than say,...santa clause,...lotsa books claim he's real,...but we all know he's not,...why would you want to be a slave to fiction? you rethink your faith,...when you dont get struck down by lightning you'll know whats real,....and i do have faith,...i live a charmed life,...the universe will provide,..

  • @metalmorph74 keep tellin yourself that. believe what you want but when the time comes you're going to see god and you'll answer to him for any wrongs you've committed. i know that as much as any other christian.

  • Steven Curtis Chapman is my top favorite artist. His songs are awesome, he has a great voice and it's always been a dream of mine to sing with him.

  • I just love this song...it's one of his best and the message is awesome.

  • Ok, so you believe Jesus was blonde and had blue eyes?? And a Surfer to boot?? Dude, just... wow. Go ahead and deny God and Jesus. Just remember that when judgement comes. Yes, I'm a believer. Untill some hard proof comes up to disprove that God doesn't exist... you are on the loosing end buddy. Evolution is as false as the Man Made Global Warming that Pope Al is spewing. lol

  • Jesus was not "blonde haired blue eyes..."

Christians have faith, which you apparently don't.

    Think, before it's too late...

  • Rock On!

  • Great song though I like the older version better more tone....Love the way he does this song

  • Great song love the way he does this song....but I like the older version better it has more tone....

  • I like this song. It is so up beat.

  • Any one know how old he is???? Loooove when the room "unfolds". hehe

  • he's 46, married with 4 or 5 kids
