I know the sea conditions are no where near 8', however this video was originally titled with a "tongue in cheek" comment due to previous challenges to actual sea states in videos I previously posted. I apologize to those who are disappointed when they realize that no 8' seas are present

Actually, that's pretty impressive. It's faster by far than my boat, a 22' walkaround cutty with a single 225 HP Yamaha, but that's OK because I don't have the money to pay for 120 gallons per hour in fuel burn.

BTW: The sea state is maybe 1-2 foot with a 1 foot wind chop. I've got thousands of hours over 30 years in the Gulf. 8 foot seas would tower over the boat, been there but not by choice.

I own a 31 foot Yellowfin, and I know those were not 8 foot seas because your prop wash isnt crashing against the "8ft" swells. If the swells were really 8ft, your wake would be crashing into the swells creating a giant splash of white water.  Maybe 3-4s but that's even pushing it. These videos do make the seas look smaller than they actually are. Even a 38 fountain would fly off the top of an 8ft wave going 80 not to mention all of the shit you would break. Nice boat though man!!

I have had her up to 86 mph spinning labbed 30" Bravos on the benter engines and labbed 28" bravos on the outsides.

Dry weight of the boat is 13,000 lbs, the load in the video is about 16,500 lbs.

love to fish,, love speed, when $ is tight, cant do both, so i picked fishing cause when i was a kid my dad taught me to fish, and now that im almost 30 and he still loves fishin,, i owe it to him. if i had the $, this is what i would own,, an 85 mph fountain 38 that i could haul ass in with all my buddies, and go fishin in with my dad... what a GREAT ALL AROUND BOAT.. thanks for the video 41hatt,, GREAT MUSIC,,, i just favorited this video

In my video we are going about 100 km/h in 3-4 feet waves and it looks calm. The highest waves my video are about 6-7 feet and looks small.

Thats funny you mention that b/c my last 38 Fountain was in fact the "hooters" boat. The fastest I had it was 83 mph. It was an extra heavy hull. My new 38 in this video is a few mph faster.

Yes, its a 2007 38 Fountain Open CC with quad 300 opti's. The Hooters boat topped out at 83 mph, and this one runs 85 mph.
