to andriew1117, I think the reason for Epyon being a complete melee-exclusive MS has something to do with the belief of its designer, who thinks that a true warrior should not rely ranged weaponry when it comes to combat.(something like that) Guess the game's development team is just trying to stay true to this and make epyon that way.

Epyon seems to be underpowered by the ranged units in the fact that it has no ranged weapons and it being a 3000 GP Unit is a bit overrated. The only benefit I can see so far is that its speed can match Strike Freedom's. I mean, even Master Gundam has the Mini-Masters for mid-range combat, so I don't see why Epyon can't have an attack similar to God Gundam's God Slash - Epyon could make a shockwave with its whip, for example.

The heat rod / whip is the mid range weapon of Epyon.

Sure it has the heat rod? Its has infinite ammo thats why its not included on the weapon list during gameplay

Most people just say that the heat rod is a mid range weapon. I would say, not only heat rod, what about its assist. Most importantly, in the anime, Epyon is stated to be exclusive melee.
