@DDsly A MSL code is the "Unlock code" that you will need to reprogram the phone to your phone number via the CDMA edit screen. Flashing is converting the phone to another network via software.

@tyshawn440 No Boost Mobile with the sim card is on the Iden network and the Blackberry 8530 does not have the proper hardware to run on that network. The Blackberry 8530 runs on the CDMA network.

@MrTechmanc Reprogram the phone to another network other then Sprint. The MSL code gives you access to the CDMA edit screen and access to reprogram the phone via CDMA workshop.

They said it could be done but when I cave them my meid number they said it was active with another account.. What does that mean??? it is not with anyone. @jrmixtapes The Sprint Blackberry 8530 does not work on T-mobile. The Sprint Blackberry 8530 uses CDMA (no sim card) technology and uses a MSL/SPC code to program the phone. T-Mobile uses GSM (sim card) technology. Also note the 8530 is not a dual (GSM and CDMA) band phone. These are all facts and can be confirmed bye visiting Blackberry website and T-mobile website to compare the technology's.

@shenovavella You would have to reprogram the phone to another network. I recommend getting a GSM (At&t, T-mobile) Blackberry. They use sim cards and are more easily unlocked then a CDMA (Sprint, Virgin Mobile,Verizon) Blackberry. Especially if you are traveling overseas. @cawmerescrilla No it does not mean it is unlocked. You should ask the seller if they have access to the CDMA edit screen or if they have the SPC code for the phone. If they say they do not know then they don' t have it. When buying CDMA phones online make sure you verify with seller that phone has a clean ESN or MEID(dec)#.

@KWILL01 You can not unlock the phone because it is not on the GSM network. This Blackberry is on the CDMA network. You have to have a MSL code to get in the programming screen if you want to program it.
