  • @times2duel was I talking to you?

  • @nkaio5 yea I found out it was the following week he showed up as Dude. I remember when he fired Dude and he went back to Mankind the same night. Good times.

  • @rm126192010 man you are stupid 1st off for crying it's a damn show and 2ndly Stone Cold does more then just talk trash ya dumb bastard. He gets in the ring and kicks ass and pisses of the owner of the WWE thats why he gets fans and the fans were cheering for Austin to come out and save Jack and Funk. Loser.

  • @PUNISHERWarzone87 dude chill

  • this nearly made me cry. I mean Stone Cold just talks trash and gets all the fans. Cactus Jack risks his life and instead of getting his name cheered he hears Austin. Sometimes I hate the fans.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but was it on this same night or the next week when Foley re-appeared as Dude Love?

  • @PUNISHERWarzone87 It was one or the other. Can't remember exactly, but he did come back as Dude Love immediately after. And when Vince McMahon fired Dude Love a few months later, the Corporate Mankind came out that very same night

  • Kudos to CM punk for bringing these type of shoot style promos back to the WWE.

  • This episode was taped on 3/31/1998. He wrestled five more matches as Cactus in 1998. TAKFA Goldust (w/Luna Vachon- RIP) d. Cactus at the Mayhem in Manchester event on 4/4/98. Kane d. Cactus on 4/5/98 in Obenhausen, Germany. TAFKAG d. Cactus in Berlin on 4/6/98. Ken Shamrock/Cactus Jack d. Rock/D-Lo in Beyereuth, Germany on 4/7/98. TAFKAG d. Cactus on 4/8/98 in Hamburg. On the 5/10/99 Raw, Cactus d. Mideon and Viscera in a hardcore handicap match.

  • Some DX scumbag disliked this video.

  • Of course, not long after that, the idiot fans started cheering for those scumbags DX, leading to HHH becoming the inoperable cancer he is today.

  • Anyone remember the anti-ECW promo Foley did in WWE when he said there were only 3 ways you left ECW?

  • I love how Foley accurately described DX as a "gang of scum," and I clicked on this link half-expecting to see a bunch of dumbass DX fans criticizing this promo for bashing those overrated, overpushed assholes. I am happy that I did not find those kinds of comments.

  • This was something that genuinely bugged Foley, and I don't blame him. The punishment he puts himself through, the punishment a man of Funks age puts himself through for the fans entertainment, and they repay them by chanting Stone Cold just because the announcer says it at the shows end. Wrong of WWF (as it was then) to announce it too, the focus should have been on Funk and Foley.

  • One damn great heel turn...

  • dude love. cactus jack. mankind. cactus jack.

  • hey, there is a link to a video labeled "The best wrestling promo ever!" But... But... Im already watching it!

  • This is why I honestly believe Foley is a superior mic worker to the Rock. The Rock has a ton of catchphrases to fall back on. Every Mick Foley promo has something different and he always works on pure emotion.

  • @Sanguiluna agreed.

  • @Sanguiluna i second that

  • dx is nothing.

  • @Sanguiluna

I agree with you. I think he's the best mic worker in the history of the biz, personally. The Rock's just funny.

  • @Sanguiluna Right on. The Rock, while highly entertaining, is a catchphrase-spewing robot. Guys like Foley, Flair, Piper, and recently Punk, can run on the fly and handle curveballs. I haven't seen any evidence that The Rock can do so.

  • You would think the good ol' E would give tapes like these to the younger generation as a guideline for better promos.

  • @Tyme4Cryme i would

  • Even back then Cole was being a dick

  • @StephenAlexWalker the hell do you mean by that?

  • @jhammaster Michael Cole the play by play guy was being a tool

  • @StephenAlexWalker what do you mean he was kissing ass at that time he was being an objective commentator. no one actually knew much about him back then.

  • Jr the best

  • Now that's how you cut a promo. That was real emotion put in it that promo. He made you feel what he was saying and you could tell he didn't care about what the crowd was saying. This is a masterpiece even all these years later.

  • Wait was it cactus jack then mankind or mankind then cactus jack anyone?

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 His first persona he ever had was Dude Love, when he was backyard wrestling. Then Cactus Jack. Then when he came into the WWF, he was Mankind.

About a year later he turned into Dude Love cause Stone Cold didn't want to team with a "freak" like Mankind. Then later after that, Foleys personalities decided Cactus Jack was going to be the one to wrestle Triple H in a Hardcore match...

  • @RavenMichaels So why is mankind a freak?

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 Mick Foley was Cactus Jack in Japan, WCW and ECW anf the WWF/E didn't want to just use the same gimmick again, they wanted their own Foley character and were going to call him "the Mutilator" but suggested Mankind and they went with that. Mankind was originally just going to be Cactus Jack with a mask but Foley developed the character into something different.

  • @11nytram11 So hoe come everyone thought of mankind as a freak and, why did he act that way?

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 Because he was. Mankind was a freak, a demented madman. He lived in a boiler room, he was friends with rats, he'd tear his own hair out, he squeeled and during his matches he would shout "Mommy!".

And Mankind acted that way because it was the character he was in the early days. The character evolved over the years and lost alot of that demented madness.

  • @11nytram11 wow 0.0 uhhh okay but, tell me why? There has to be why, there always is its sounds retarded sorry to say.

So that's just how he was REALLLLY O:

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 Alright, fine, I'll give you a bit of the Mankind character's backstory.

As a child Mankind was an award winning Pianist but his Mother was extremely mentally unbalanced, overbearing and abusive. One day she attacked him and broke his fingers so badly that he would never be able to play the piano again. In his despair he ran away from home, became estranged from his family and lived in sewers being raised by rats.

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 Cactus Jack was psychotic, prepared to put himself and his opponent through unimaginable pain just to cause unimaginable pain.

Mankind was demented but calculating, he could put himself and his opponent through unimaginable pain for the sake of it but he didn't, Mankind was always planning, he never did anything unless it was to win.

  • @GoldenYoshiKing23 And that's the fundamental difference between the characters early on, Cactus hurt you and damned the consequences because he could and he enjoyed it, Mankind hurt you and damned the consquences because he could and he had a hunger for success.

Later Mankind developed a fun-loving comedy side which further split him from the Cactus persona and Cactus became that part of his mind he went to when he was sufficiently antagonized enough to want to hurt you.

  • @RavenMichaels you forgot that his wrestling name was also "Jack Foley" a couple times... which I believe was his father's real name.

  • @RavenMichaels How many times did he change during his time in wwf?

  • @RavenMichaels hmm ok thank you BUT, I need to know why mankind was like that. I know this isn't his role. I need to know why mankind has that weird music and, all why did he have that mask. Just tell me everything you know about mankind lol.

I just need to know, been curious for a while now.

  • @RavenMichaels WT FUDGE? Wow see I knew thats why he is like that, really rasied by rats man this role is strange xD

  • mick we miss u

  • It's great, but Punk is just as awesome

  • @wa2k99 Punk awesome? what you been smoking mate?

  • @Dragon4eva Foley respects Punk. That should say a lot about the quality of Punk as an entertainer.

  • @Dragon4eva Yeah all he can do is cut promos and get a crown reaction and work great matches what use is that to a prowrestling company?

  • I know CM Punk is hot shit right now, but this wipes the floor with anything Punk has ever said.

I remember watching this at the time and being glued to the TV. Magic stuff!

  • Mick Foley!!

  • Best promo man of all time! Bar NONE!

  • the match that came about from this was great between him and terry funk

  • Foley has always been in a league of his own when it came to promos. They were more than just non stop catch phrases and innuendo gay jokes that we get from guys like The Rock and John Cena..When Mick spoke you listened and you believed every word that came out of his mouth because he put his heart and soul into it

  • @logan81679 hold about cean. there were times when cena would joke but other times he actually has serious promos which get a crowd reaction (cheer or jeer)

  • @logan81679: Even when he did funny promos like the one he did on the January 15, 1994 WCWSN about the Flintstones.

  • i loved it how whenever someone said something heel like the crowd always booed them despite them usually being right.

  • @SavageScott1005 - DX took a piss on DOA's motorcycles

  • where is this taken place arena looks smaller than usual?

  • The great thing about this is that he is absolutely right. Funny how the commentators tried to sell it, as if he had said something bad or wrong. Foley is go(o)d

  • Kind of odd, I was at the Raw prior to this and remember asking my dad "Why are the fans chanting for Austin? it's Funk and Foley strapped tot he cage"

  • @TheGreatMutoh What a great RAW to be at. Probably one of the most important in the whole series...

  • @RavenMichaels Nitro would still keep the ratings lead for another couple weeks, but you're right, the post-WM14 Raw was an enormous turning point in wrestling history. The only one I can think of that might equal it would be January 4, 1999, when WCW countered Mick Foley's first WWF title victory with the worst bait-and-switch in wrestling history. Two major nails in the WCW coffin.
