my dad gave me a basil brush LP for my 6th birthday and this song was on it. what i would do to get my hands on that vinyl now. classic, all of it.

Wonderful. The man behind, (or rather underneath!) Basil was Ivan Owen who voiced and operated the fox from the sixties to the end of the original show's run. He sadly died in 2000. A true legend.

Agreed - the new incarnation of BB isn't a patch on the delightfully camp original.

@soundzok And even now, no-one knows what he looked like. His family and friends told him he had a very loud booming and infectious laugh and he made it Basil's trademark.
